Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Judi Cole- Tea Party Inspirational speech

Hi....I can't say that the author is wrong!

At THE TEA PARTY, a black man, Dr. Donald May delivered this message from
the courthouse steps in Lubbock. He electrified the audience like I haven't
seen in a long time. His delivery was masterful. I am sorry you could not
see him in action. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy his words. The news
media was there, but not one word of this man’s appearance ever appeared on
TV or in print, even though he completely dominated the scene.

This is A Time For Courage

April 15, 2009 – 11:49 pm

Ladies and gentlemen, This is a Time For Courage. We are gathered here
today on the Plains of West Texas in common purpose. We are here to remind
our government that this is our country, We the People are still in charge,
and our government is still our servant and not our master. Our Nation’s
founding document is The Declaration of Independence. It tells us that our
rights come from God and not fro m a small group of Elite men and women.

Our Constitution starts with the words “We the People.” Our Constitution
was written for ordinary Americans like you and me. Our Constitution
protects us from our government and from the politicians. Our President has
complained that our Constitution gives ordinary people too much protection.
He has ridiculed us for the high value we place on our Bibles, our guns,
our personal property, and our Liberty. He tells us we do not deserve to
keep the money we have earned. We are told freedom has not worked.
Personal responsibility, free enterprise, and Liberty have not been
effective. Our government will now make more of our decisions for us.
Other than our military, I can think of not one government agency I have
ever found to be helpful. And speaking of our military, how about those
Navy Seals blowing the heads off those three terrorist pirates? Don’t you
just wish our entire government would function with such efficiency,
professionalism, and courage?
We watch in disbelief as our beloved United States is weakened economically,
militarily, and morally by a Radical President and his eager accomplices.
What has taken generations to build is systematically destroyed and
replaced with the same Socialist Evil that brought poverty, destruction, and
d espair to untold hundreds of millions.
The problems we face today have occurred because we have not defended our
Nation from Socialism. For too long we have allowed the wrong people to
make the worst possible decisions. The Bible warns us of class hatred. The
Radical leadership of our government daily fans the evil flames of class
envy.
Our European and Canadian friends beg us to not make the same Socialist
mistakes they did. The President of the European Union warned our President
that his Socialist economic plans are taking the World down the “road to
Hell.” The path to power for Socialists includes taking God and guns from
the citizens. Without spiritual and physical protection, people cannot
defend themselves and their Liberty. They soon become slaves.
We are angered that our President apologizes for the exceptionalism and
heroism of the United States of America. We are deeply troubled he told
others the United States is not a Christian nation.

We are angered that we have been called cowards and racists because we
oppose Socialism. Socialism is not racial. Socialism is an equal
opportunity destroyer.

We are angered that a recent Department of Homeland Security report has
singled out our military men and women who are returning home as being
radical threats. The report also characterizes you and me as right-wing
extremists and radicals because we favor smaller government and lower taxes.
You and I are average citizens who believe just like most of our fellow
Americans. We want our government to leave us alone and to keep its hands
off our money, our religion, or guns, our private property, and our lives.
We demand that our government stop spending money it does not have.
Stop confiscating our money and private property.
Stop printing money.
Stop subsidizing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the other failed financial
institutions and companies.
Mr. President, stop appointing tax cheats to positions of power and
influence.
Mr. President, secure our borders.
Mr. President, do not divert money from our missile defense, F-22 Raptors,
and other vital military equipment. This gives encouragement, aid, and
comfort to our enemies. Protecting us is your number one job.

Mr. President, do not give voting rights to millions of illegal aliens and
felons. You have no more right to create new voters for your benefit than
you do to use our money to buy the 2010 and 2012 Elections.
We gather peacefully here today because there is a growing concern20for what
our government is doing to us and to our future. We fear for the very
survival of our Republic.
Yet there is much to make us hopeful and to fill our hearts with optimism
and courage. This is still our country!
The Constitution of the Unites States belongs to We the People. Our
Constitution still protects us from our government.
Call every possible elected official, including our President, Vice
President, and the Speaker of the House. Demand that they stop stealing our
money and giving it to ACORN and their other political supporters in order
to buy votes.
Call Senators Cornyn and Hutchison, and Representative Neugebauer. Thank
them. Urge them to do much more. Remind them now is a time for action and
not for campaigning.
Volunteer to work on our 2010 Census. Confront ACORN. Keep our Census
honest. We must not allow our President to take control of our Census for
his political advantage.
We must replace as much of our Far Left Congress as possible in 2010. Get
involved. Do not let the ACORN control our 2010 Election.
Talk with someone every day who does not understand our nation’s history and
our great heritage. Tell them why the United States is a good and
prosperous nation. It still remains that brightly l it city on the hill. It
still is the best hope for all mankind.
Talk with all of the young people you can find. They are our future. Many
do not understand what they have and that their future is being destroyed.

Encourage your elected State officials to pass legislation that will protect
us from our Federal government. Governor Rick Perry and others are doing
that right now for Texas. Thank them and pray for them.
This is a time for strong peaceful action. Let us pray that We the People
can quickly return our government to its Constitutional responsibilities.
Our President and Congress were elected to be our servants and not our
masters.
May God help our President and Congress to quickly realize the error of
their ways and stop their reckless and unwarranted spending, cut our taxes,
and reduce the size of our Federal bureaucracy.
If they do not, may God grant us the courage and determination to vote them
out of power next year.
May God richly bless and protect each of you, and our Constitution, as
together we pursue Liberty!

Calipari at Kentucky by Gregg Doyel

At UMass, a nothing school on the college basketball landscape, John Calipari won like he was at Kentucky. At Memphis, a bigger basketball school than UMass but still nothing much to look at when he got there in 2000, Calipari won again like he was at Kentucky.

So what happens now that John Calipari is coaching Kentucky?

I’ll tell you what happens. Kentucky will win like it’s the Boston Celtics. John Calipari will prove himself worthy of Kentucky fans’ applause. John Calipari will prove himself worthy of Kentucky fans’ applause.
College basketball as you know it? It’s over. That sport doesn’t exist anymore, because that sport had a semblance of parity. One year North Carolina is the dominant program. One year it’s UConn. One year it’s Duke or UCLA or Florida. Maybe those teams don’t win the national title the year they’re dominant, or maybe they do. Either way, every year there is a team that, on paper, is the dominant program in college basketball. And every year it’s a different team.

Until now. Until John Calipari merges with Kentucky.

Once Calipari gets Kentucky rolling — and it won’t take him long — Kentucky will be that team. That dominant team. Every year?

Yes. Every year.

Things can go wrong, of course. Players can get hurt or ineligible. A scandal can come along out of nowhere, like the one rocking UConn at the moment. Kentucky itself has been laid low by NCAA violations, back when Eddie Sutton was running amok in Lexington. So things can happen.

But if none of those things happen … it’s over. College basketball will belong to Kentucky. Turn back the clock 50 or 60 years, because it’ll be like that all over again. Kentucky won three national championships in the four seasons between 1948-51. The Wildcats added another in 1958. What happened between 1951 and ‘58? Three trips to the Elite Eight happened. Not even a point-shaving scandal could slow Kentucky down. The Wildcats didn’t field a team in 1953 because of that scandal, then went 25-0 in 1954, but were held out of the NCAA tournament.

The coach then was Adolph Rupp. When he retired in 1972, he had won 876 games, more than anyone in college basketball history. His record stood for 25 years. Rupp was that good at Kentucky.

John Calipari would be that good at Kentucky, too. How could he not? He has been Kentucky-good at places that couldn’t hold Kentucky’s jock.

In 1988, Calipari went to Massachusetts, which hadn’t been to the NCAA tournament in more than 25 years, and soon he was making it look easy. UMass averaged 29 wins per season from 1992-96, and reached the 1996 Final Four. There was the Marcus Camby scandal, with Camby’s relationship to an agent costing him his eligibility and UMass its spot in the Final Four, and heads will roll if that happens at Kentucky.

But if that doesn’t happen, Calipari will win huge. He’ll win like he won at Memphis, where he won at least 33 games in each of the past four seasons and reached the 2008 NCAA title game.

Calipari will win like that at Kentucky, and maybe as soon as Year 1. Kentucky has two future pros, forward Patrick Patterson and guard Jodie Meeks, but neither is quite ready for the NBA. If they come back, and if Calipari brings just two of the incoming freshman studs he has lined up at Memphis — say, Xavier Henry and DeMarcus Cousins — Kentucky would enter next season among the preseason favorites to win the national title. One year after going to the NIT.

Calipari is that good, because he attracts that kind of talent. You can question how he attracts that talent, and you can question the character of some of the talent he attracts, and those are legitimate issues for someone to tackle. But those are issues for another day.

Today, the issue is the merger of John Calipari and Kentucky basketball. He’s going to get that school rolling again, because that’s what he does. UMass had been stalled for 25 years, but he got that program up and rolling. Memphis had been stuck in neutral until he got that place rolling.

He’ll get Kentucky rolling, too. Heaven help anyone who gets in the way.

Prayer for Sam and his family- Personal

The fifth of May is an important Mexican holiday. I didn't sleep a lot last night, but not for that memory of the fifth of May. Today, I am to be evaluated and I hope to be declared eligible for a cochlear implant.

I have not been conducting interviews recently for new books because of my poor hearing. I could write a truly funny book if I could remember all of my interpretations of the spoken word versus what was actually said.

Like a kid on Christmas morning, I anticipate the test results. I have prayed to our wonderful Advocator, Jesus and his Father, God, that my hearing can be technologically restored. Certainly I believe Christ could perform another miracle, but I do not honestly pray for that. The complexities of this world are far more important than Sam Kegley's hearing problems.

I earnestly seek for those of you who know me and are of a mind to, to offer a prayer for the possibility that an operation may be scheduled for the implant.

Thanks friends and family. I believe those around me would enjoy it, perhaps even more than me.

Columbine- Touching and eerily tonic- Nita Elliott

Subject: Touching and eerily ironic

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women.. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA.. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun... I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

" Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational
systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass mor e restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High Schoolprayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge..... Dare to examine your
own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech.. Please send this out to everyone you can.
