For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Fort Hood Disaster Raises Critical Issues

Friday, November 6, 2009 12:29 PM

By: Tawfik Hamid Article Font Size

An army psychiatrist's alleged slaughter of 13 people and wounding of another 30 at Fort Hood, Texas, raise critical issues related to radical Islam.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an American Muslim who had counseled troops, allegedly made the comment "Allah Akbar - Arabic for "God is great!" - before he killed his fellow human beings Thursday.

The horrible event brings these thoughts to mind:

a.. When Shariah teaches disrespect for non-Muslims' life, why should we be surprised when we hear about a dedicated religious Muslim who follow such teaching if he commits barbaric acts against non-Muslims?

a.. Muslims must stop blaming Westerners who link violence to Islam as normal human mind tend to link events together. Thousands of terror attacks, including Sept. 11, all over the world, beheadings in the name of Islam, and many other barbaric atrocities are all conducted more commonly by people who are identified as Muslims. It is virtually impossible to stop people from linking violence to Islam unless violence in the name of Islam stops.

a.. Should the Muslim world continue blaming the West for "Islamophobia" and for linking violence to Islam or should it work on changing itself to stop producing generations that accept violence as integral parts of their religious teaching? (Please see my ABC's test for radical Islam.)

a.. Some decision makers have a tendency to discuss why some Muslims turn to violence while others do not, when they are exposed to the same religious teaching. This approach may allow decisions makers to avoid addressing the role of religious teaching as the true cause of the problem and to focus instead on the individual factors that make a particular person use violence.

In this regard I would like to mention the following illustrative example: When people smoke cigarettes only some of them develop lung cancer. This does not mean that smoking is not a main cause of lung cancer. The same applies to Islamism phenomenon. When Muslims are exposed to the radical Islamic teaching, only some of them become violent. This also does not mean that the teaching is not the cause of developing the violence. The most simple solution for the problems in the previous examples is simply to limit the exposure to the offending agent

(either smoking or to the radical teaching) rather trying to change the response of the cells or the humans to the causative agent. This can happen in Muslim societies by providing them with an alternative to the radical teachings to promote values of love and peaceful coexistence instead of hatred and intolerance.

a.. The investigators of the case who might be able to interrogate the suspect must be fully aware he may practice "Tequia"

(lying to non-Muslims) or pretend that he has a psychiatric disorder to avoid punishment. The latter can be a very viable option for a trained psychiatrist who knows the symptoms of psychiatric disorders.

a.. Senior officials in the military, intelligence, Homeland Security, and others need to learn how to detect early signs of Islamic radicalization among their employees. Failure to do so can lead to a disaster.

Report: 237 millionaires in Congress

Talk about bad timing.

As Washington reels from the news of 10.2 percent unemployment, the Center

for Responsive Politics is out with a new report describing the wealth of

members of Congress.

Among the highlights: Two-hundred-and-thirty-seven members of Congress are

millionaires. Thats 44 percent of the body compared to about 1 percent of

Americans overall.

CRP says California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is the richest lawmaker

on Capitol Hill, with a net worth estimated at about $251 million. Next in

line: Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), worth about $244.7 million; Sen. Herb

Kohl (D-Wis.), worth about $214.5 million; Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), worth

about $209.7 million; and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), worth about $208.8

million.

All told, at least seven lawmakers have net worths greater than $100

million, according to the Centers 2008 figures.

Many Americans probably have a sense that members of Congress arent

hurting, even if their government salary alone is in the six figures, much more

than most Americans make, said CRP spokesman Dave Levinthal. What we see

through these figures is that many of them have riches well beyond that

salary, supplemented with securities, stock holdings, property and other

investments.

The CRP numbers are somewhat rough estimates lawmakers are required to

report their financial information in broad ranges of figures, so its

impossible to pin down their dollars with precision. The CRP uses the mid-point in

the ranges to build its estimates.

Senators estimated median reportable worth sunk to about $1.79 million

from $2.27 million in 2007. The Houses median income was significantly lower

and also sank, bottoming out at $622,254 from $724,258 in 2007.

But CRPs analysis suggests that some lawmakers did well for themselves

between 2007 and 2008, even as many Americans lost jobs and saw their savings

and their home values plummet.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) gained about $9.2 million.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) gained about $3 million, Sen. Daniel Inouye

(D-Hawaii) had an estimated $2.6 million gain, and Richard Shelby (R-Ala.)

gained about $2.8 million.

Some lawmakers have profited from investments in companies that have

received federal bailouts; dozens of lawmakers are invested in Wells Fargo,

Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America.

Among executive branch officials, CRP says the richest is Securities and

Exchange Commission Chairwoman Mary L. Schapiro, with a net worth estimated

at $26 million.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is next, worth an estimated $21

million. President Barack Obama is the sixth-wealthiest, worth about an estimated

$4 million. Vice President Joe Biden has often tagged himself as an

original blue collar man. The CRP backs him up, putting his net worth at just

$27,000.

Hes hardly the worst off.

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.), freshman Rep. Harry Teague (D-N.M.), Rep.

Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.), Rep. John Salazar (D-Colo.) and Rep. Sander Levin

(D-Mich.) each a net worth of less than zero, CRP says.

One caveat on those numbers: Federal financial disclosure laws dont

require members to list the value of their personal residences. That information

could alter the net worth picture for many lawmakers.

Even so, Levinthal said, It is clear that some members are struggling

financially.

Over a calendar year, ones wealth can change drastically. Many peoples

investments took a nose dive over night in the last year, he said.

A number of lawmakers are estimated to have suffered double-digit

percentage lossed in their net worth from 2007 to 2008. The biggest losers include

Kerry, who lost a whopping $127.4 million; Warner lost about $28.1 million;

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) lost about $11.8 million; and Sen. John

McCain (R-Ariz.) lost about $10.1 million.

Wikipedia- Infidel-the word

I won't try to convince anybody that I understand all of the verbiage; however, I will admit that hearing so much about the Quroan's admonishment of Muslims to "kill the infidels' added to my and anti-extremist islamic prejudice. They are not the only ones. Unfortunately, even the sincere muslims are afraid to express anything against their extremists. We who profess to be Christians, must beware of creating hate within us as has been shown by declaarations of those in authority throughout our history.

I feel a little better informed, but still concerned about the status of the USA and this world.  I admit prejudice in not welcoming  muslim leaders for the USA or the world.

Voting for NHB should get them voted out- Sam

The Thursday demonstration to stop the national health bill may be more effective than we think. National media do not consider it front page material, but on page A5 of today's Dispatch, a story claims that democrats in the House of Representatives are struggling to find their "comfort level" to vote for the bill.

Why should they find any comfort in that action. They are representatives and the people they represent simply don't want the bill passed. Interestingly, my wife Jeanie, showed me this small paragraph in the article:

"In addition, the entire House will be up for election next year."

I found that interesting because I have wanted us to vote them all out anyway, but certainly now we should target all of those who vote for the crazy national health bill out of office. It would be nice to have representatives of 'we the people' in the offices again.
