Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Tom's dad's store- Re- Pete Minego

My dad's store was Portsmouth Barber and Beauty Supply in the nine hundred block of Gallia Street. Pete stopped in a couple of times a week to talk. Guess you know his real first name was William. Your wreck must have been scary, I bet Eddie was shook up and I know you were. Kroger's lot here is the worst place in the world to drive in. They come in all diections - from the gas station part and from all the parking and it is dangerous. Good to hear from you.
Jackie,

I believethe difficulty you recently experienced with my blog www.skegley.blogspot.com was a good thing for me , because I moved the topics to the end of the posts rarher than having them at the beginning. I would appreciate your opinion. Did my adhjustment help or hurt?

Liberal friends could see right away that I am a conservative. I am not interested in hiding that fact, but I feel that the history of my posts are the passing interest part of my blog. The regular posts, mostly items forwarded from friends, are the main intent of mine. I have posted many of your items in the last year.

My books have been mostly a result of my interviews of my friends of interest and this blog is evolving in the same way.

Sam

Yeah Lou! Off the deep end again, but who is this guy?

Who is he?

I have a BIG question mark? Is any of this true? I really want to know. Can someone help?

A stounding !! Was He There? Who Is He?

I have always wondered why NO ONE ever came forward from Obama's past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc. NO ONE, not one person has ever come forward from his past. VERY VERY STRANGE. This should really be a cause for great concern for all Americans.

To those who voted for him, YOU HAVE ELECTED THE BIGGEST UNQUALIFIED FRAUD that A merica has ever known!

This is very disturbing stuff. Sort of adds credence to the idea of The Manchurian Candidate thing having happened here!

Stephanopoulos of A BC news said the same thing during the 08' campaign. He too was a classmate of BO's at Columbia class of 1984. He said he never had one class with him.

Was Obama there?

While he is such a great orator, why doesn't anyone in Obama's college class remember him? Maybe he never attended class! Maybe he never attended Columbia ? He won't allow Colombia to release his records either. Suspicious isn't it???

NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA. Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him.

Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don't have a single classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia . Ever! Nobody recalls him. I'm not exaggerating, I'm not kidding. "Root adds that he was also, like Obama, "Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him. At the class reunion, our 20th reunion seven years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as they say in New York , the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him. Is that not strange? It's very strange. "Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia , provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates, professors, or friends while at Columbia .

NOTE: Root graduated as Valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School , then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a Political Science major (in the same class as President Barack Obama WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN IN).

Can it be that BHO is a complete fraud?? More intrigue concerning "The Man who wasn't there."

Tom & Carolyn Lynch- re- Pete Minego

Thanks Tom,

Eddy Hill is another good Portsmouth name and a good friend of mine. Eddy was in the Gilmer twins car the evening about five of us got into the car at Race's Service Station at Seventeenth & Hutchins for a ride to Grant Gym for a PHS basketball game. Howard Rase and I had a gentle tussel to win the front seat. I won, or at least I was in the seat.

We went down the hill about four blocks. Bob Gilmer, who died very recently, was an excellent driver. At the foot of the Hutchins hill, an unexpected car came through a stop sign and hit us. Our car was pushed towards a little triangular park, no longer there. We settled down from being shaken up and Howard asked: "Anybody hurt up there?" I looked around and said: "No, how about you guys?" Someone said: "Oh yes you are!" A nice thing about accidental injuries like this is that the nerves are ripped out with the flesh and you don't feel the pain.

It was then that I felt warm blood oozing down my face. I had broken the windshield with my forehead. No seat belts were used back then, about 1947 and between my freshman and sophomore years at PHS. The right front seat is the number 1 danger spot in most car accidents. Gib Lakeman's dad, a fireman who lived only a block west of the intersection, was the first responder. He did what he could to stop the bleeding. A 'good samaritan, volunteered to drive me to the hospital while I pressed a towel to my face. No doubt that cost the goodheart because the blood oozed more and probably saturated his floor mat.

Mercy Hospital was packed that night. Dr. Rogowski came and sewed up my forehead with twenty-eight stitches. No rooms were available so I spent a sleepless night in a hallway.

I am still amazed that more accidents don't happen all over the streets and highways. I am fully aware that the right front seat is not the seat to win in a packed automobile.

And, by the way, Tom, please name your dad's store. Pete Minego was a good reminder to a lot of us of 'the cultural center of our universe'.
