Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Golf... Romance... Thanks avid golfer, Bob Looney!

Subject: .......................................GOLF AND ROMANCE...................

Ed and Dorothy met while on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her. When they discovered they lived in the same city only a few miles apart, Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when they got home.

Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Dorothy to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that Dorothy was indeed his soul mate and true love. Every date seemed better than the last.

On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship, Ed took Dorothy to a fine restaurant. While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said, "I guess you can tell I'm very much in love with you. I'd like a little serious talk before our relationship continues to the next stage. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut. I play golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe golf. If that's going to be a problem, for us, you'd better say so now!"

Dorothy took a deep breath and responded, "Ed, that certainly won't be a problem. I love you as you are and I love golf too; but, since we're being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for about the last five years I've been a hooker."

"I see," Ed replied thoughtfully. He looked down at the table, and was quiet for a moment, deep in serious thought then he added, "You know, it's probably because you're not keeping your wrists straight when you hit the ball."

FROG... Thanks clay Vice and Nita Elliott!

' F R O G ' we all need one

I do hope this returns to ME the sender! Isn't the little green guy sort of cute?

I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an area Chaplain came to visit her. This Chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort It was a tiny ceramic frog. The next day one of the people from the lady's church came to visit. The lady told her friend about the beautiful young Chaplain who had come to visit her. The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to the young Chaplain. In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly reassured that the chaplains are never very young and that there was never a gal that fit the description given.

Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the comment 'I see you have a guardian angel with you..' As she held the little frog. We asked why she made the comment and we were informed that the frog stood for:

(F) Forever (R) Rely (O) On (G) God

To The World You Might Be One Person; But To One Person You Might Be the World.

You have been Tagged by the Froggy, which means you are a great friend!!

You will BE BLESSED For Years if you send this to 4 people or more. And if this is sent back to you then you know that you are a true friend..

Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

[url: http://james4america.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/pat-buchanan-to-barack-obama-terms-for-conversation-on-race/ ]

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America... Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured at... This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks ever have known. Rev. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold $trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona. And Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids...? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? [O'D NOTE: Of course, the Al Sharpton's of this country will claim more blacks are jailed cuz the "justice" system is`"stacked against" blacks!!!] Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent? [O'D NOTE: No, it's about the FACT that BLACK MEN FLEE PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY (LEADING to the 70% UNwed mother rate among blacks), & these "men" BLAME THE WOMAN for "GETTING PREGNANT," even tho' BLACK MEN HATE THE VERY IDEA of EVER using a CONDOM -- EVEN tho' AIDS is rampant in majority-black cities, like Washington, DC]

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We all have heard ad nauseam from Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

Be a better friend,

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard.

Sender closed, saying:This needs to be passed around because this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

OK........... will you pass this on ?

YES. I did but will you?

Because I'm for a better America

Not violent,

Just not silent anymore

My youngest brother, Paul and his wife Mary and grandson Ethan- A great favor appreciated!

My brother Paul is so good.

Paul recently turned 66 on August 31. He and Mary came up yesterday. Paul brought up his farm jack, post hole digger, tamper, and a few other tools. I helped as a laborer, as Paul removed a gate post with the farm jack. It was neat as he wrapped a chain around the post a couple of times and latched the chain to the platen for the jack. As we pumped the jack handle the post rose up out of the ground as was intended. Paul proceeded to measure and sight the post at the back edge of the house and we then removed the chain wire and the remaining posts. It was a hot (>90 degree day) and my brother worked up a good sweat.

My sisters Sharon and Sandy, along with Sharon's friend, Mike, joined us for an early afternoon dinner at Home Town Buffet on Morse Road.

Mary shared a letter from Ethan's teacher which explained that the youngster (five now), took a standardized test for his age group and scored a perfect 50, whereas 17 was the average score and no others had a score close to perfect as Ethan did.

We each love Ethan and consider him special, even without the brightness he is exhibiting. Be sure Ethan knows he is making us very proud Paul and Mary! Paul and Mary are raising the youngster in their home. The family enjoyed a nice visit during a wicked storm outside the restraurant. Mary fits right in with the Kegleys as she also is from a large family and has a great sense of humor. Similarly Mike fit in as it was the first time Paul, Mary, Jeanie and I had met him.

Paul is an even-tempered gentleman farmer on the west side of Portsmouth. He helped me out with this gracious gesture and Jeanie and I certainly appreciate it.

With so much gratitude!

Fight the socialist programing of our kids

By Dave Weinbaum

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com
The treasonous school indoctrination of our children toward Socialism has been going on for over a century. Our kids are taught America is evil, we are polluters, we owe a big debt to the Third World countries and Capitalism is the curse of the world. Heck, we heard that and more as Iran's Ahmadinejad lectured us at the UN yesterday.

Was Ah'm Mad schooled in the USA ?

With our first black/progressive president seeing himself with the power to lower or raise sea levels (I forget which-maybe both) the pace of brainwashing has risen to the level of idol worship. Little school kids are forced to memorize and sing praises of our Socialist President, Dear Leader, Mao/Stalin/Hitler style throughout the gullible warmed plains.

Sometimes you have to put your foot down to get a leg up

Until recently, most parents have been oblivious to the brainwashing, seeing such youthful/progressive exuberance as a process of growing up.

Some of us dare to object. Instead of singing the praises of the anointed one, we should take steps to remove the misinformation and stop the forced worship of cheap Chicago politician thugs.

My suggestion?

Have sing-alongs at the dinner table to counter the Messiah-in-Thief.

Peasant Nation... Thanks Judi!

A Nation of Peasants?

By Victor Davis Hanson

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com
Traditional peasant societies believe in only a limited good. The more your neighbor earns, the less someone else gets. Profits are seen as a sort of theft. They must be either hidden or redistributed. Envy rather than admiration of success reigns.

In contrast, Western civilization began with a very different ancient Greek idea of an autonomous citizen, not an indentured serf or subsistence peasant. The small, independent landowner -- if left to his own talents and if his success was protected by, and from, government -- would create new sources of wealth for everyone. The resulting greater bounty for the poor soon trumped their old jealousy of the better off.

Citizens of ancient Greece and Italy soon proved more prosperous and free than either the tribal folk to the north and west, or the imperial subjects to the south and east. The success of later Western civilization in general, and America in particular, is testament to this legacy of the freedom of the individual in the widest political and economic sense

We seem to be forgetting that lately -- though Mao Zedong's redistributive failures in China, or present-day bankrupt Greece, should warn us about what happens when government tries to enforce an equality of result rather than of opportunity.

Even after the failure of statism at the end of the Cold War, the disasters of socialism in Venezuela and Cuba, and the recent financial meltdowns in the European Union, for some reason America is returning to a peasant mentality of a limited good that redistributes wealth rather than creates it. Candidate Obama's "spread the wealth" slip to Joe the Plumber simply was upgraded to President Obama's "I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

The more his administration castigates insurers, businesses and doctors; raises taxes on the upper income brackets; and creates more regulations, the more those who create wealth are sitting out, neither hiring nor lending. The result is that traditional self-interested profit-makers are locking up trillions of dollars in unspent cash rather than using it to take risks and either lose money due to new red tape or see much of their profit largely confiscated through higher taxes.

No wonder that in such a climate of fear and suspicion, unemployment remains near 10 percent. Deficits chronically exceed $1 trillion per annum. And now the poverty rate has hit a historic high. We are all getting poorer in hopes that a few don't get richer.

The public is seldom told that 1 percent of taxpayers already pay 40 percent of the income taxes collected, while 40 percent of income earners are exempt from federal income tax -- or that present entitlements like Medicare and Social Security are financially unsustainable. Instead, they hear more often that those who managed to scheme to make above $250,000 per year have obligations to the rest of us to give back about 60 percent of what they earn in higher health care and income taxes -- together with payroll and rising state income taxes, and along with increased capital gains and inheritance taxes.

That limited-good mind-set expects that businesses will agree that they now make enough money and so have no need to pursue any more profits at the expense of others. Therefore, they will gladly still hire the unemployed and buy new equipment -- as they pay higher health care or income taxes to a government that knows far better how to redistribute their income to the more needy or deserving.

This peasant approach to commerce also assumes that businesses either cannot understand administration signals or can do nothing about them. So who cares that in the Chrysler bankruptcy settlement, quite arbitrarily the government put the unions in front of the legally entitled lenders?

Health insurers should not mind that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius just warned them to keep their profits down and their mouths shut -- or face exclusion from health care markets.

I suppose that no corporation should worry that the government arbitrarily announced -- without benefit a law or court ruling -- that it wanted BP to put up $20 billion in cleanup costs for the Gulf spill.

What optimistic Americans used to call a rising tide that lifts all boats is now once again derided as trickle-down economics. In other words, a newly peasant-minded America is willing to become collectively poorer so that some will not become wealthier.

The present economy suggests that it is surely getting its wish.

Torture? Really!... Thanks Sonny!

Subject: Fw: Torture? Really?

Thanks to Ray, I don't think this man is real fond of our President:

I got shot down over N Vietnam in 1967, a Sqdn. Commander. After I returned in 1973...I published 2 books that dealt a lot with "real torture" in Hanoi. Our make-believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has No idea what torture is.

As for me, I was put thru a mock execution because I would not respond.. Pistol whipped on the head.... same event.. Couple of days later... Hung by my feet all day. I escaped and a couple of weeks later, I got Shot and recaptured. Shot was OK... what happened afterwards was not. They marched me to Vinh... put me in the rope trick, trick... almost Pulled my arms out of the sockets. Beat me on the head with a Little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and my unshot, unbroken hand a pulp. Next day hung me by the arms... rebroke my right wrist... wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands.... rolled my fingers up into a ball. Only left the slightest movement of my forefinger. So I started answering with some incredible lies. Sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck. Hanoi... on my knees.... rope trick again. Beaten by a big fool. Into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel. Much kneeling--hands up at Zoo. Really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson. Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone thru Kneeling holes. There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building because of escape they started a mass Torture of all commanders.

I think it was July 7, 1969... they started beating me with a car fanbelt. In the first 2 days I took over 300 strokes... then stopped counting because I never thought I would live thru it. They continued day-night torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees... fan belting... cut open my scrotum with fan belt stroke. Opened up Both knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger... I could not lie on my back. They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape... and that my 2 room-mates knew about it. The next day I denied the lie. They commenced torturing me again with 3- 6- or 9-strokes of the fan belt everyday from about July 11 or 12th… to 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again. Now, the point of this is that our make-believe President has declared to the world that we (U.S.) are a bunch of torturers... Thus it will be OK to torture us next time when they catch us... because that is what the U.S. Does. Our make-believe President is a know-nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on some one's face, or hanging a pair of women's pants over an Arabs head,is TORTURE... He is a meathead. I just talked to MOH holder, Leo Thorsness, who was also in my squadron, in jail... as was John McCain... and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was Torture... or that "water boarding" is torture.

Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States. Please pass his info on to Sean Hannity. He is free to use it to point out the Stupidity of the claims that water boarding...which has no after Effect...is torture. If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC... Hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

More than 21 years ago, she and her husband, Bob, were serving as

missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam

contracted amebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by

a parasite found in a contaminated food or drink. She entered into a

coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered

she was pregnant. Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own

safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage

to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as

the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the

devastating disabilities physicians predicted.

The doctors "didn't think of it as a life, they thought of it as a

mass of fetal tissue," Pam said.

While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to

consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her

husband, "If you will give us a son, we'll name him 'Timothy,' and

we'll make him a preacher."

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and,

eventually, gave birth to a health baby boy August 14, 1987.

Pam's youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes

hospital visits, and serves with his father's ministry in the

Philippines.

He also plays football. Pam's son is Tim Tebow.

Last year, the University of Florida's star quarterback, became the

first sophomore in history to win college football's highest award,

the Heisman Trophy. Tim's notoriety and the family's inspiring story

have given Pam numerous opportunities to speak on behalf of women's

centers across the country.

She was the keynote speaker at the Oct. 23, 2008, benefit banquet for

two Louisville ministries. A Woman's Choice Resource Center offers

such services as free pregnancy tests, post-abortion counseling,

adoption information, and material support. Necole's Place is a

companion ministry that provides support services for women in need.

Several Louisville-area Kentucky Baptist churches and Long Run Baptist

Association help support both ministries.

A Woman's Choice board chairman, John Schmitt, reported at the banquet

that in the 20 years since the resource center opened, 4,500 children

have been saved from abortion -- 400 in this year alone.
