Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Sam, yes, I think this couple is avoiding the tax as they live in the US and rent out their house in France. I am not sure what city they own the house in. But they are happy campers with the way the taxes are over there and how they affect them here.

I agree with you about the reps and Senators. Our Congress is just plain crocked. They have voted themselves a 3% salary increase while the retirees get nothing; Fed Employees will be getting a 1.4% increase come Jan 2011. Of course this can change, who knows.

Check out Public Law 111-148 which passed on March 23, 2010, Title is: "Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act. You may be interested in taking a look at this. Google the Public Law and see what you get. You can read most of it online.

I am glad I am getting old now as our or this society has gone nuts. This Administration has just destroyed our country's values, morals, principals, standards and working on our Constitution of the USA and Bills of Rights. It is so sad to see foreigners coming into our Country, especially DC area and taking up residency and then telling we Americans how to do things. They protest for their rights, but really don't have any. All the illegal immigrants should be sent back to where they came from. It is so bad here in the DC area that many young families are moving away because of the school systems, gang related crimes, etc. This is not the place anymore to rear children; at one time it was great as there is a lot of history i this city and suburbs, but now things have changed so much i the schools, parents are afraid to let their kids go to school without an adult present. Really is bad. Even the kids are fearful as they get bullied and picked on to the point where they tell their parents they want to go to another school. This happened to my friend's daughter who is an honor student and excels in everything she does. She was being made fun of because she took her lunch to school and ate at the cafeteria with the others; the kids teased her about bringing her lunch to school. She told her Mom that she wanted to buy her lunch from now on. She hated the school because of the bullies and jealous of the other kids. Finally her Mom did get her into another school in Arlington, VA. She has no problems there now.

Sam, This Metro area isn't like it use to be; but our country appears to me to be going the Third World Way and I hate to see that happen. But the Congress is not doing their part to keep this Country the best place to live in anymore. I wouldn't doubt it if one day we all wake up and find out that Obama is having an Ad Hoc Committee created to rewrite the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and bill of rights. He would just say these documents are old and need updating to the new society in which we live. George Washington and Abe Lincoln need to reappear to him in the White House and set him straight. He needs to have the demons scared out of him!!

Thanks Marge! Is it that they are not making their banking transactions in France and thereby avoid the tax while they live here? Of course, we already have our income tax and our 'elitist reps' want this new tax on top of our income tax. o and the current

Sitting Congress may pull off a few more dirty trricks before they finish as lame duckers.

It is terrible to mistrust a crew of 'reps' so much, but I do.

The election results were more stimulating than the crooked stimulus by far!

FW- You didn't know this about Martha Raye...

Most of the old time entertainers were made out of a lot sterner stuff than today's crop of activists and whiners.

The following is from an Army Aviator friend who takes another trip down memory lane:

It was just before Thanksgiving '67 and we were ferrying dead and wounded from a large GRF west of Pleiku. We had run out of body bags by noon, so the Hook ( CH-47 CHINOOK) was pretty rough in the back. All of a sudden, we heard a 'take-charge' woman's voice in the rear.

There was the singer and actress, Martha Raye, with a SF ( Special Forces) beret and jungle fatigues, with subdued markings, helping the wounded into the Chinook, and carrying the dead aboard. 'Maggie' had been visiting her SF 'heroes' out 'west'.

We took off, short of fuel, and headed to the USAF hospital pad at Pleiku. As we all started unloading our sad pax's, a 'Smart-Ass' USAF Captain said to Martha.... Ms Ray, with all these dead and wounded to process, there would not be time for your show!

To all of our surprise, she pulled on her right collar and said.....Captain, see this eagle? I am a full 'Bird' in the US Army Reserve, and on this is a 'Caduse' which means I am a Nurse, with a surgical speciality....now, take me to your wounded. He said, yes mam'.... Follow me.

Several times at the Army Field Hospital in Pleiku, she would 'cover' a surgical shift, giving a nurse a well-deserved break.

Martha is the only woman buried in the SF (Special Forces) cemetery at Ft. Bragg.

Thanks Clay Vice and all who have hit on this blog!

Special thanks to you for saying something to your many friends, Clay, we just passed 10,002 hits upon my www.skegley.blogspot.com SamKat blog. In fact, I am humbled by any and all who have looked into the blog. Thanks to each of you! I am sure everything posted is not always pleasing to every person. I confess that it is a conservative Christian slant on my part for the many forwards I have included from so many excellent contributors. Sorry, I won't apoplogize for that but I do admit it.

My young guru, Shawn Baird, posted the "How would you introduce Jesus Christ" video for me yesterday.  I think it is truly special and I hope you can take time to scroll down and see it.

If World War 1 was a Bar Fight

In Military, Politics, War, thinking out loud on November 3, 2010 at 9:47 pm

Germany, Austria and Italy are standing together in the middle of a pub when Serbia bumps into Austria and spills Austria’s pint.

Austria demands Serbia buy it a complete …new suit because there are splashes on its trouser leg.

Germany expresses its support for Austria’s point of view.

Britain recommends that everyone calm down a bit.

Serbia points out that it can’t afford a whole suit, but offers to pay for the cleaning of Austria’s trousers.

Russia and Serbia look at Austria.

Austria asks Serbia who it’s looking at.

Russia suggests that Austria should leave its little brother alone.

Austria inquires as to whose army will assist Russia in compelling it to do so.

Germany appeals to Britain that France has been looking at it, and that this is sufficiently out of order that Britain should not intervene.

Britain replies that France can look at who it wants to, that Britain is looking at Germany too, and what is Germany going to do about it?

Germany tells Russia to stop looking at Austria, or Germany will render Russia incapable of such action.

Britain and France ask Germany whether it’s looking at Belgium.

Ottoman and Germany go off into a corner and whisper. When they come back, Turkey makes a show of not looking at anyone.

Germany rolls up its sleeves, looks at France, and punches Belgium.

France and Britain punch Germany.

Austria punches Russia.

Germany punches Britain and France with one hand and Russia with the other.

Russia throws a punch at Germany, but misses and nearly falls over.

Japan calls over from the other side of the room that it’s on Britain’s side, but stays there.

Italy surprises everyone by punching Austria.

Australia punches Ottoman and gets punched back.

There are no hard feelings because Britain made Australia do it.

France gets thrown through a plate glass window, gets back up, staggers back into the bar and carries on fighting by attempting to kick Germany in the balls while he hides behind Britain’s skirt.

Russia gets thrown through another window, gets knocked out, suffers brain damage, and wakes up with a complete personality change and starts punching itself in the face.

Italy throws a punch at Austria and misses, but Austria falls over anyway.

Italy raises both fists in the air and runs ’round the room chanting inane Italian taunts.

BRITAIN AND FRANCE START WHINING THAT THEY NEED HELP FROM AMERICA.

America watches the belligerents until Britain and France are about to fall over from sustained punching from Germany, shakes her head resignedly, then walks over and knocks Germany out by smashing Germany over the head with a bar stool, then pretends she won the fight all by herself. Then yells; “I gotta stop partying with these belligerent assholes!”

By now all the chairs are broken and the big mirror over the bar is shattered. Britain, France and America agree that Germany threw the first punch, so the whole thing is Germany’s fault.

While Germany is still unconscious, they go through its pockets, steal its wallet and buy drinks for all their friends.

Russia inexplicably continues to punch himself in the face.

Just for the hell of it, Britain and France take Ottoman out to the back alley and screw her and take all of her money as well.

After everyone else leaves and Germany is still unconscious on the floor, France buggers Germany and smashes the Kraut over the head with a wine bottle one last time.

Germany awakes several hours later and vows revenge on the French.

Several years later, they’ll invite everyone over to do it all again.

Here’s my post-election column. I’ll continue to update the results post here as we wait on key AK, WA, CO, AZ, and Florida returns.

The grass-roots conservative midterm message: No surrender, no compromise, no capitulation.

Take Your Olive Branch and Shove It, Democrats

On the eve of a historic midterm election upheaval, President Barack Obama tried to walk back his gratuitous slap at Americans who oppose his radical progressive agenda. “I probably should have used the word ‘opponents’ instead of ‘enemies’ to describe political adversaries,” Obama admitted Monday. “Probably”?

Here is an ironclad certainty: It’s too little too late for the antagonist-in-chief to paper over two years of relentless Democratic incivility and hate toward his domestic “enemies.” Voters have spoken: They’ve had enough. Enough of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner’s rhetorical abuse. Enough of his feints at bipartisanship. Whatever the final tally, this week’s turnover in Congress is a GOP mandate for legislative pugilism, not peace. Voters have had enough of big government meddlers “getting things done.” They are sending fresh blood to the nation’s Capitol to get things undone.

Just two short years ago, Obama campaigned as the transcendent unifier. “Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states,” he proclaimed. “We have been and always will be the United States of America.”

It’s been an Us vs. Them freefall ever since.

“We don’t mind the Republicans joining us,” Obama taunted a few weeks ago. “They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”

“They’re counting on young people staying home and union members staying home and black folks staying home,” the fear-mongering agent of hope and change jeered on the campaign trail last month.

“You would think they’d be saying thank you,” he sneered last April, when millions turned out for the nationwide Tax Day tea party protests.

“I want them just to get out of the way” and “don’t do a lot of talking,” he scoffed in response to prescient critics of the federal trillion-dollar stimulus boondoggle.

In addition to labeling GOP opponents of his open-borders policies “enemies” who needed to be “punished” by Latino voters, Obama accused them — that is, us — of lacking patriotism. “Those aren’t the kinds of folks who represent our core American values,” he told viewers of the Spanish-language network Univision.

Democratic leaders have taken their cue from Team Obama’s persistent politics of polarization.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer called vocal citizens who protested the federal health care takeover bill during the town hall revolts of 2009 “un-American,” too. Remember? “These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American,” Pelosi and Hoyer blasted in an op-ed piece for USA Today last summer. “Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”

This from the woman who called for a vengeful government investigation of grassroots opponents of the Ground Zero mosque.

Obama’s pal Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida, whom the president hailed as an “outstanding” member of Congress, accused Republicans of wanting elderly people to “die quickly” and of presiding over a “holocaust in America.” Vice President Joe Biden hailed Grayson as a “guy who doesn’t back away from a fight, and doesn’t back down from what he believes in” and told him at a fundraiser: “We owe you one, buddy.” No mention of Grayson’s smear of a female Federal Reserve adviser as a “K Street whore.”

In California, entrenched incumbent jerk Pete Stark derided immigration enforcement activists at a town hall by asking: “Who are you going to kill today?” To an elderly constituent who opposed the health care bill, Stark retorted: “I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”

As voters who have been maligned by the ruling majority as stupid, unwashed, racist, selfish and violent headed to the polls Tuesday, Democrats released “talking points” attacking Republican leaders who “are not willing to compromise.” But “no compromise” is exactly the message that un-American Americans delivered to Washington this campaign season:

No more compromising deals behind closed doors.

No more compromising bailouts in times of manufactured crisis.

No more compromising conservative principles for D.C. party elites.

No more compromising the American economy for left-wing special interests.

No more compromising transparency and ethics for bureaucratic self-preservation.

Let us be clear, in case it hasn’t fully sunk into the minds of Obama and the trash-talking Democrats yet: You can take your faux olive branch and shove it.

Thank you.

Governor John Kasich November 3, 2010

It became too close for my comfort, but John Kasich defeated Ted Strickland.

Obama and Biden were nearly overwhelming the strate with their progressive agenda for his 'twin' Ted Strickland.

I say:  "Hoowah!  Now let's get going America!"  There remains much to be done!
