For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Save corn for food, not ethanol! Thanks Dr. Hovermale!

Subject: Old UK PKA Friends

PKA Friends:

My wife and I had a great trip to Hawaii, climbed Diamond Head, went snorkeling and ate way too much wonderful food. We just got back

I do not consider myself to be a political activist, I am writing to lots of people letting them know of just one of my concerns and that deals with the farm subsidies paid to corn farmers for the production of ethanol. Please keep in mind that our country is a terrible financial mess and this would be a small step in the right direction if this practice would end.

The U.S. Senate passed legislation yesterday to end this subsidy.

You may disagree with me, but I would encourage you to register your vote on the Wall Street Journal on today’s topic “Should the federal government repeal a $6 billion tax credit for ethanol producers? http://online.wsj.com/community/groups/question-day-229/topics/should-federal-government-repeal-6 . Of the 2355 votes cast so far, 96% say, “Yes”. Here were my comments. Feel free to register your own.

There are many good reasons the U.S. House should pass similar legislation:

Farm subsidies are America's largest corporate welfare program and larger than our other welfare programs

Ethanol hasn’t put much of a dent in our oil imports nor in the prices are we paying at the gasoline pump. Ecologically, ethanol production puts a lot of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Taking a significant portion of corn and other grains out of the food market has raised prices for food worldwide.

Some ethanol skeptics have even argued that the process involved in growing grain and then transforming it into ethanol requires more energy from fossil fuels than ethanol generates. In other words, they say the whole movement is a farce

Beef and dairy farmers can no longer afford to feed their cattle. Just look at the price of corn. http://futures.tradingcharts.com/chart/CN/M

Small gasoline engine owners cannot use gasoline with ethanol.

Here is a very interesting CATO Institute Study going all the way back to 1995. http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-241.html. The Archer Daniels Midland Corporation (ADM) has been the most prominent recipient of corporate welfare in recent U.S. history. ADM has cost the American economy billions of dollars since 1980 and has indirectly cost Americans tens of billions of dollars in higher prices and higher taxes over that same period.

Take care,
