For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

... Hear a pin drop ... Thanks Ron Walters!

Pin drop ... ping!  A great recycle ... Thanks Ron walters!

This does NOT represent any political party relationship on my part:
:
At a time when many people tend to apologize for our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country.
JFK’s Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60’s when Charles DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. He said he wanted all U.S. military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded. “Does that include those who are buried here?”
DeGaulle did not respond.
You could have heard a pin drop.
When in England at a fairly large international conference Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of American empire building.
Powell replied, “Over the years the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return.”
You could have heard a pin drop.
There was a conference in France in which a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into to room and said, “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt by the Americans? They are sending an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What do they intend to do, bomb them?”
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly, “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias onboard that can feed 3,000 people three meals a day; they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day; and, they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from the flight deck. We have eleven such ships. How many does France have?”
You could have heard a pin drop.
An admiral of the U.S. navy was attending a naval conference that included admirals from English, Canadian, Australian and French navies.
That evening, at a cocktail party, he found himself standing with several officers from those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks. Suddenly, a French admiral complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages Americans learn only English.
He then asked, “Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”
Without hesitating the Admiral replied. “Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you would not have to speak German.”
You could have heard a pin drop.
And,
Robert Whiting, an 83-year-old American, flew into Paris. At French Customs he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry-on bag.
“You have been to France before, Monsieur?”, the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting replied that he had been to France previously.
“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”
The American said, “The last time I was here I didn’t have to show it.”
“Impossible,” the customs officer said. “Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France.”
The elderly American gave the customs officer a long hard look, and then quietly said, “Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D Day in 1944 to help liberate this country I couldn’t find a single Frenchman to show my passport to.”
You could have heard a pin drop.
So I think I would like to say:
We are not perfect, we Americans. We have many faults, as individuals and as a nation. Yet, when people need help they come to us. Sometimes it means financial aid, or food, water, medical, engineering, teaching.
And sometimes it means dying.

If you are looking for me at Christmas ... thanks Marge Rusnak!

IF YOU LOOK FOR ME AT CHRISTMAS

you won't need a special star -
I'm no longer just in Bethlehem,
I'm right there where you are.
You many not be aware of Me
amid the celebrations -
You'll have to look beyond the stores
and all the decorations.
But if you take a moment
from your list of things to do
And listen to your heart, you'll find
I'm waiting there for you.
You're the one I want to be with,
you're the reason that I came,
And you'll find Me in the stillness
as I'm whispering your name.

Love,
Jesus

Lea Dushinski passed away ... thanks brother, Jim and friend, Ronnie Walters!

High Notes 12-08-2011
Lea Duschinski died Saturday, December 3, 2011, and that was a black day in the annals of dear old Portsmouth High.
Lea served many years as secretary to the principal at the high school, and retired in about 1985. Lea graduated from Portsmouth Central Catholic in 1944, and began her long career shortly after graduation. For many years she walked to and from the school at the corner of Waller and Gallia Streets from her home at 1606 3rd St.
Nobody knew the history of PHS better than Lea, for the period from 1945 until now. Even though Lea had been retired many years she tried to attend every home football and basketball game of PHS, and most of Portsmouth Notre Dame’s games too. She was a true sports fan, and especially loved The Cincinnati Reds.
Another plus, and example of her high regard among acquaintances, was her annual invitation to numerous class reunions every summer. I described Lea as “The belle of a hundred class reunions,” when I emailed a notice of her hospitalization to friends.
Lea was also a devotee of lolling in the sun, whether at old Dreamland Pool, the Elks Country Club pool, or a pool of one of her friends or family.
Lea lived on South Taylor Court, in Forrest Heights, Portsmouth, until May this year, when she had a bad fall while sweeping her sidewalk, and shattering her left elbow, and cracking her head. She was already pretty frail from a loss of appetite, and she was hospitalized for several weeks before being moved into Hill View Retirement Center’s health care facility.
Her keen memory, devotion to her church and schools, and her extensive reading, made her an interesting and fun companion; she was a member of several groups of friends who ate together frequently. In recent years she complained that her lunch and dinner groups had fallen off, but you could see Lea and Vi Gantz at The Scioto Ribber or Damon’s most every Thursday evening. She had a limit of two vodka drinks an evening, unless the “company or conversation got really exciting,” she often said.
Visitation for Lea Rose Duschinski will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and the funeral will be Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., at Melcher’s Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
Lea’s good friend, Janet Bowman said, “The funeral will be Thursday, because that’s the only day local singer and friend, Stan Workman could sing at her funeral, and that was a special request of Lea’s.” That is a testament to her affinity for everything Portsmouth, as Stan is a celebrated PHS graduate.
Always the good Catholic, and blessed with a wry sense of humor, she told me that she, upon attending her first movie in a theatre in years, “almost genuflected before taking my seat.”
Brushart was Lea’s mother, Jean’s maiden name, and she told me about a community named “Brushart” in Kentucky, so I said, “Why don’t we drive down and see what Brushart, Kentucky is like?” So, in 2010 we did just that…Lea and I took off in her car, and I drove. Brushart, is described as “a populated place” in Greenup, County, Kentucky. We found it!
I had Lea get out and stand by identifying signs, and I took her picture so she could show her family, and we ended up having lunch at Carter Cave’s State Park resort. It was another first for Lea, and we had a good time, for which I have pleasant memories.
Adieu old friend, adieu.

o's "Capitalism Failed" speech in Texas, Kansas

Pamela Geller reported obama's teleprompter speech in her "Atlas Shrugs" blog today.  It is very long, but it is a speech we will be hearing until November 2012- the 'progressivist battle cry' that makes obama's heritage appear to be part of America's greatness.  The man is a narcissistic, compulsive liar.

Thomas Jefferson said:  "That government is best which governs least."  obama believes that socialism is much superior to capitalism.  We citizens used to get sixty-eight cents back for each dollar we sent to the federal governent.  I don't know the current citizen return on the dollar figure, but I am sure it is much less in this overgrown tumor which is Washington.  Government doesn't create wealth except for the non-representative controllists that are part of government such as obama. pelosi, and their greedy ilk and any, democrat or republican who has been in office far too long.  As Gary Burbank, a great American always said in one of his WLW 700 characters, "Wake up America!"  But not to this egotistical compulsive liar's return to the presidency of the United States of America.

Give us Any Man or Any Woman who will oppose the changing of America to socialism or communism, the great failures of the twentieth centur.

It is no secret that our negotiated collectivism, rose us to 13 week vacations, $30 an hour factory work, plush jobs, gave American factories to overseas countries.  Strong american markets, weak management and strong unionism did that. Thirty dollars an hour plus benefits gave way to $10 an hour in Japan, $1 in Mexico, and 25 cents an hour in China and Taiwan.  Is it any wonder that goods are made by copying the engineering and capitalistic successes built here in America?  No, it is absolutely no wonder.  Two plus two still makes four, no matter the math used by progressives.  Government services devour  far too much from our economy.

We want neither  progressives, left nor right, running our great country into the grips of another dictator, in the style of Stalin, Hitler, Chavez, nor Cuba's 'savior'.  This over-zealous obama person would love to be the dictator of the entire world of socialistic countries.

A wonderful black friend confided to me yesterday that those who receive without working become dependent and dilatory-example- over forty million Americans now on food stamps.  Nancy Pelosi believes this is a great stimulation to American economy - more food stamps.  Incentivism to job creation?  NOT!

Go to "Atlas Shrugs" for the Texas Kansas speech of 'little o'.
