Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Movie Review of The Butler by Michael Reagan

This is a perfect example of how Hollywood modifies, changes and destroys true history to suit its own political bias.  I will not see the movie because the traitor (Fonda) is in it however, it’s amazing to see the extent these Hollywood producers go to twist the truth!!
This is the movie review by Ronald Reagan’s son.

         No Hollywood sugar coating here…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Butler

By Michael Reagan | Aug 22, 2013 | Townhall.com <http://townhall.com/>

There you go again, Hollywood .

You’ve taken a great story about a real person and real events and twisted it into a bunch of lies.

You took the true story of Eugene Allen, the White House butler who served eight presidents from 1952 to 1986, and turned it into a clichéd
 “message movie.”

“Lee Daniels’ The Butler’” stars Forest Whitaker as Cecil Gaines, a fictional character supposedly based on Eugene Allen’s real life.

But let’s compare the two White House butlers.

Guess which one grew up in segregated Virginia , got a job at the White House and rose to become maître d’hôtel, the highest position in White
 House service?

Guess which one had a happy, quiet life and was married to the same
woman for 65 years? And who had one son who served honorably in Vietnam and
never made a peep of protest through the pre- and post-civil rights era?

Now guess which butler grew up on a Georgia farm, watched the boss rape
his mother and then, when his father protested the rape, watched the
boss put a bullet through his father’s head?

Guess which butler feels the pain of America ’s racial injustices so deeply that he quits his White House job and joins his son in a protest
 movement?

And guess which butler has a wife (Oprah Winfrey) who becomes an
alcoholic and has a cheap affair with the guy next door? (I’m surprised it wasn’t
 the vice president.)

After comparing Hollywood ’s absurd version of Eugene Allen’s life story
with the truth, you wonder why the producers didn’t just call it “The
  Butler from Another Planet.”

Screenwriter Danny Strong says he was trying to present a “backstage
kind of view of the White House” that portrayed presidents and first ladies
as they really were in everyday life.

Well, I was backstage at the White House -- a few hundred times. I met
and knew the real butler, Mr. Allen, and I knew a little about my father.

Portraying Ronald Reagan as a racist because he was in favor of lifting economic sanctions against South Africa is simplistic and dishonest.

If you knew my father, you’d know he was the last person on Earth you would call a racist.

If Strong had gotten his “facts” from the Reagan biographies, he’d have learned that when my father was playing football at Eureka College one
of his best friends was a black teammate.

Strong also would have learned that my father invited black players home for dinner and once, when two players were not allowed to stay in the
local hotel, he invited them to stay overnight at his house.

Screenwriter Strong also might have found out that when my father was governor of California he appointed more blacks to positions of power
than any of predecessors -- combined.

It’s appalling to me that someone is trying to imply my father was a racist. He and Nancy and the rest of the Reagan family treated Mr. Allen
 with the utmost respect.

It was Nancy Reagan who invited the butler to dinner – not to work but as guest. And it was my father who promoted Mr. Allen to maître d’hôtel.

The real story of the White House butler doesn’t imply racism at all.
It’s simply Hollywood liberals wanting to believe something about my father
 that was never there.

My father’s position on lifting the South African sanctions in the ‘80s
had nothing to do with the narrow issue of race. It had to do with the
 geopolitics of the Cold War.

But facts don’t matter to Hollywood ’s creative propagandists. Truth is
too complicated and not dramatic enough for scriptwriters, who think in
minute terms, not the big picture, when it comes to a conservative.

Despite what Hollywood ’s liberal hacks believe, my father didn’t see
people in colors. He saw them as individual Americans. If the liberals
in Hollywood -- and Washington -- ever start looking at people the way he
did, the country will be a lot better off.

*Jane Fonda (better known as Hanoi Jane by those my age) playing Nancy
Reagan is an outrage*, and an insult to all of us that served in Vietnam !

Send this to your friends and children too young to know about this Traitor...

JANE FONDA as NANCY REAGAN?  Those of us that were living in those years will never forget that she was a traitor and did
a lot of damage to our boys.

She has now been chosen to play Nancy Reagan in her life story.
I am sending this one out because so many do not know this truth...and
also because she was on 3 times this week talking about her new book...
And how good she feels in her 70's. She still does not know what she
did wrong. Her book just may not make the best seller list if more people
 knew...also...

She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps
SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by  without comment and see her "honored" as a "Woman of the Century."
(I remember this well) For those who served and/or died....

NEVER FORGIVE A TRAITOR. SHE REALLY WAS A TRAITOR!!

and now President OBAMA wants to honor her......!!!!

Reaction came swiftly Thursday to Vladimir Putin's surprise appearance in the op-ed pages of The New York Times, where he challenged President Barack Obama over Syria.

Conservative commentator Pat Buchanan called the Russian president's article "outstanding," while Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez said it made him want to vomit.

Others from both left and right slammed Moscow's strongman for lecturing the United States about human rights.

But all sides agreed it was a stunning propaganda coup for Putin with the Times itself saying that the 60-year-old former KGB chief is now clearly the most powerful leader in the world.

"Suddenly Mr. Putin has eclipsed Mr. Obama as the world leader driving the agenda in the Syria crisis," the Times wrote on Thursday, the same day that his op-ed appeared.

"He is offering a potential, if still highly uncertain, alternative to what he has vocally criticized as America’s militarism and reasserted Russian interests in a region where it had been marginalized since the collapse of the Soviet Union."

Among Putin's victories, the Times noted, were: giving Syrian President Bashar Assad a lifeline just as he appeared close to losing power; preventing Obama acting without first getting backing from the United Nations Security Council, where Russia holds a veto; and making Russia "indispensible" in containing the Syrian conflict.

But it was the op-ed in the Times that was seen as Putin's coup de grace.

Buchanan was full of praise for the article. "Candidly, it was an outstanding piece," the two-time presidential candidate told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren.

Buchanan said Putin made a better case against U.S. strikes in Syria than Obama made in favor of them in his Tuesday night address to the nation.

"Frankly, in the last week, Vladimir Putin looks like a statesman," Buchanan said.

Menendez, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had a far lower opinion of Putin's writing. He told CNN's Jake Tapper, "I have to be honest with you, I was at dinner, and I almost wanted to vomit."

"I worry when someone who came up through the KGB tells us what's in our national interest and what is not," added the New Jersey Democrat, who described the editorial as "very much in-your-face,"

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin, meanwhile, said it was no surprise that Putin had used the Times to get his point across.

"It is galling for this strong man to be wagging his finger at America about peace and international law," she said Thursday on "Fox & Friends."

On the same show, Fox legal analyst Peter Johnson Jr. said Obama needed to read the article.

"Josef Stalin is smiling from the grave this morning," said Johnson, who called the New York Times piece "a full-throated attack on our president and on our country."

"Putin has the nerve to go to the New York Times this morning to try and break off the American left and embarrass the president in New York City in the liberal newspaper of record," he added.

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe," commentator Andrea Mitchell called Putin's article "brazen" action, but nonetheless "a PR stunt."

"He is trying to appeal to the world," she added.

Columnist John Podhoretz talked about the irony of Putin's position. He expressed his incredulity in a tweet. "Man who launched military action in Georgia and Chechnya without UN say-so says wars without it are illegal?"

Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also weighed in, claiming the op-ed was aimed at "weakening the resolve" of the United States over Syria.

"First and foremost, we have to understand that President Putin should be the last person to lecture the United States about our human values and our human rights and what we stand for," said the former Pentagon chief.

"We know what we stand for. We know what we are fighting for in the world. And I think his effort to try to do this by a column in The New York Times is just not going to work. We know who the Russians are."

The White House itself tried to play down the furor caused by the article, with CNN quoting one senior aide as pointing out that Putin was now "fully invested" in dismantling Syria's chemical weapons arsenal.

The same official said Putin's dismissal of American exceptionalism was "irrelevant."

"He put this proposal forward and he’s now invested in it," the official said.

"That's good. That's the best possible reaction. He's fully invested in Syria's CW disarmament and that’s potentially better than a military strike – which would deter and degrade but wouldn’t get rid of all the chemical weapons. He now owns this. He has fully asserted ownership of it and he needs to deliver.”

Al-Qaida Chief Zawahiri Calls for Attacks Inside the US

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri urged small-scale attacks inside the United States to "bleed America economically," adding he hoped eventually to see a more significant strike, according to the SITE monitoring service.

In an audio speech released online a day after the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 strikes, Zawahiri said attacks "by one brother or a few of the brothers" would weaken the U.S. economy by triggering big spending on security, SITE reported.

Western counter-terrorism chiefs have warned that radicalized "lone wolves" who might have had no direct contact with al-Qaida posed as great a risk as those who carried out complex plots like the 9/11 attacks.

"We should bleed America economically by provoking it to continue in its massive expenditure on its security, for the weak point of America is its economy, which has already begun to stagger due to the military and security expenditure," Zawahiri said.

Keeping America in such a state of tension and anticipation only required a few disparate attacks "here and there," he said

"As we defeated it in the gang warfare in Somalia, Yemen, Iraq and Afghanistan, so we should follow it with . . .war on its own land. These disparate strikes can be done by one brother or a few of the brothers," Zawahiri said.

At the same time, Muslims should seize any opportunity to land "a large strike" on the United States, even if this took years of patience.\

The Sept. 11 attacks — in which hijacked airliners were flown into New York's World Trade Center, the Pentagon in Washington, and a Pennsylvania field — triggered a global fight against al-Qaida extremists and their affiliates. Almost 3,000 people were killed in the attacks.

In his audio speech, Zawahiri said Muslims should refuse to buy goods from America and its allies, as such spending only helped to fund U.S. military action in Muslim lands.
