For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Fwd: Constitutional Amendment

Just 3 States Short and Counting
This is what Mark Levine has been talking about--a constitutional convention by the states to get back to the laws of the Constitution.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read.  If you agree, please pass it on.  This is an idea that we need to address.

      =   =   =   =   =   =   =   =   =   =   =   =    =

                                                                                       35 STATES SO FAR...AND GROWING

                                                                                                   One message to forward!

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them.  It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read.  If you agree, please pass it on.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.  Their latest stunt is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that they passed ... in all of its forms.  Somehow, that doesn't seem logical.  We do not have an elite ruling class that is above the law.  I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever.  The self-serving must stop.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 15 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America   will have the message.  This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators, Representatives of Congress;  and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or  Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States     ..."

Genocide of Christians in the Middle East and also coming to all Christians in this world if islamic terrorists have their way.

Christian Conservatives have no stronger voice in this world than Fox News and their reporters, here in America.  Judge Jeanie had an excellent program last night on Fox :" Christians under Attack".  She toughly reported the genocide of Christians in the Middle East and the coming genocide in America and to the entire world.  The investigation she reports attributes this to the war by islamic terrorists of the Muslim religion.  Many deny that we should say that terrorists are part of that religious sect, yet it speaks so loudly that only the entirely deaf or mindless can ignore. Sadly Christian Churches all over the world, except those Christians in the middle east are acting like the ostrich with their heads in the sand. We must realize it is happening and pray  and know that our God, Who remains in control of this world, will have His way.  We can't see the way The almighty will control, but still must recognize His ultimate control!

German citizens only acquiesced in letting Hitler take power as happens so often in dictatorships.  It is close to happening in our country.  The wiping out of entire groups looked successful for the Ottoman Empire for a few centuries until it failed, but here it is again in carrying out their plight to wipe out all unbelievers of the Muslim religion.  ... SamKat - a Christian in America.  Note this quote regarding the Russian resistance by Afghanistans patriots who refused to acquiesce.

M. Hassan Kakar, Afghanistan: The Soviet Invasion and the Afghan Response, 1979–1982, University of California Press, 1995.

"Rather than enumerate definitions of genocide, I will describe the empirically based categories about which students of genocide are close to consensus. These are retributive genocide, which is based on the desire for revenge; institutional genocide, which is frequently incidental to military conquest; utilitarian genocide, which is motivated by the desire for material gain; monopolistic genocide, which originates in the desire to monopolize power; and ideological genocide, which is motivated by the desire to impose a particular notion of salvation or purification on an entire society.[7] Chalk and Jonassohn have combined these categories into a master definition: “Genocide is a form of one-sided mass killing in which a state or other authority intends to destroy a group, as that group and membership in it are defined by the perpetrator.”[8]
For genocide to happen, there must be certain preconditions. Foremost among them is a national culture that does not place a high value on human life. A totalitarian society, with its assumed superior ideology, is also a precondition for genocidal acts.[9] In addition, members of the dominant society must perceive their potential victims as less than fully human: as “pagans,” “savages,” “uncouth barbarians,” “unbelievers,” “effete degenerates,” “ritual outlaws,” “racial inferiors,” “class antagonists,” “counterrevolutionaries,” and so on.[10] In themselves, these conditions are not enough for the perpetrators to commit genocide. To do that—that is, to commit genocide—the perpetrators need a strong, centralized authority and bureaucratic organization as well as pathological individuals and criminals. Also required is a campaign of vilification and dehumanization of the victims by the perpetrators, who are usually new states or new regimes attempting to impose conformity to a new ideology and its model of society.[11]"

Ulis' work of heart boosts Kentucky past Louisville

jtipton@herald-leader.comDecember 27, 2014 Updated 9 hours ago
  • NEXT GAME
    Mississippi at No. 1 Kentucky
    When: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6
    TV: SEC Network
LOUISVILLE — Muscle, grit and willpower were the only valuable currencies in the Kentucky-Louisville game Saturday. The smallest player on the court looked like the wealthiest man.
Tyler Ulis, a 5-foot-9 freshman whose David-and-Goliath exploits long ago captured the hearts of Kentucky fans, delivered a big-time performance as Kentucky won 58-50.
UK Coach John Calipari had said his high-rolling team needed a punch in the face, figuratively speaking. Well, Ulis took an elbow late in the first half that opened a cut over his right eye and required three stitches to close. He kept on keeping on.
Those in search of a metaphor needed to look no further.
"You've got to leave it all on the floor," teammate Karl-Anthony Towns said. "Tyler Ulis always does that. When you have a person like that, it motivates all of us."
Ulis scored a career-high 14 points, all of which loomed large in a game that had as many fouls as baskets (36). The second of his back-to-back pull-up jumpers gave Kentucky its first double-digit lead with 6:17 left.
Maybe more importantly, Ulis gave UK steady point guard play (no turnovers in 26 minutes) in a charged KFC Yum Center atmosphere and against an inspired archrival well-equipped to disrupt Kentucky's offense.
That Ulis played well was no coincidence, the player's father said. "If it's a big game, he's coming to play. That's his M.O.," James Ulis said.
Certainly, Ulis' play was well-timed given how starting point guard Andrew Harrison struggled. Harrison committed six turnovers, which equaled a career high.
Calipari saluted Ulis. "That's the best I've seen him play since I've coached him," he said.
But without the prompting of a question, Calipari seemed to anticipate a Ulis-versus-Harrison debate and tried to kill it immediately.
"This will start the other dialogue," said Calipari, who noted a three-pointer Harrison made. "That basically ended the game," he said.
Harrison's three, his only basket in six shots, put UK ahead 50-38 with 4:44 left.
"Andrew took us to the championship game last year," Calipari reminded reporters. "Andrew did. So what I have is two terrific point guards who I can play together, if I choose."
Thanks, in large part, to Ulis, Kentucky (13-0) found the resolve, heretofore not needed, to win. It was the first time this season UK had not won by a double-digit margin.
Louisville lost for the first time and slipped to 11-1. The Cards avoided the lowest-point total of Rick Pitino's time as coach (45 in a victory over Cleveland State on Nov. 26). The 50 points equaled the sixth-lowest total for a Pitino team at U of L.
The lowest-scoring first half for either team featured plenty of defense, hustle and intensity.
UK led 22-18 at intermission. The score was in stark contrast to what the teams were used to this season. Kentucky had averaged 37.8 points in first halves; Louisville, 37.7.
Louisville made only six of 28 first-half shots, and made only two shots in the final 11:06.
If one play typified a defense-oriented half, it came inside the final two minutes. Louisville's Mangok Mathiang, a 6-10 sophomore, found himself at the basket, but practically surrounded by defenders.
A pump-fake caused two UK defenders to jump and, thus, take themselves out of the play. But as Mathiang rose for a seemingly unmolested shot, Marcus Lee arrived and blocked the shot.
With Ulis scoring 12 of his points in the second half, Kentucky kept its lead.
Pitino noted the wearing effect of Kentucky's size, then added that "because they have so many 'bigs,' you don't notice (Ulis). He's a true point guard who makes people better. I've loved him from the moment I started watching him. He's a great point guard. That's a program you can build around a great point guard."
Calipari lauded Ulis, too. When asked what drew him to the guard in the recruiting process, the UK coach said, "His competitiveness. He can make a difference in a game even at his size, and that's what you want.
"And he wasn't afraid of a challenge. I didn't have to beg him. I recruited him for (only) three weeks."
That fearlessness and competitiveness was on display in the Yum Center for all to see.
Towns said Ulis "played amazing."
"That's one of the things against a team like this — you need to make sure everything is under control. He kept the game under control.
"He was just pretty, pretty, pretty good today. Pretty good."

Ten facts about NYC Mayor Bill Deblasio ... Thx Steve A!

Ten Quick Facts You May Not Know About NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio

Bill de Blasio Old Young
Here are ten interesting facts you may not know about New York City’s Communist Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio, who was elected in 2013 with a whopping 72% of the vote. The leftist mayor is accused of fostering an environment that led to the tragic execution-style racial assassinations of two NYPD officers on Saturday.

  • Bill de Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr., on May 8, 1961. He first changed his name to the hyphenated Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, adding his mother’s maiden name. In 2002, he dropped the “Warren” and the “Wilhelm,” and changed his name for a second time to what it is currently, Bill de Blasio.
  • Bill de Blasio was the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000.
  • Bill de Blasio was a fervent supporter of the Marxist Sandinista government in Nicaragua in the 1980′s, a government that was backed by the Communist Soviet Union and Cuba.
  • At the height of Cold War tension, while still a student at New York University, de Blasio toured the Communist Soviet Union in 1983.
  • His first job was in 1984 with the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice.
  • Bill de Blasio received a master’s degree in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, the same school attended by Barack Obama.
  • Bill de Blasio ran Democrat New York Congressman Charlie Rangel’s re-election campaign in 1994.
  • In 1994, Bill de Blasio married a lesbian activist, Chirlane McCray. The newlyweds honeymooned in Fidel Castro’s Communist Cuba.
  • In 2009, de Blasio’s election campaign to be NYC’s third “Public Advocate” was supported by the pro-Communism, Working Families Party.
  • Both of de Blasio’s parents were communists, leading historian Ron Radosh to describe him as a “bona fide red diaper baby.”

Teen demanding shoes shot dead by concealed carry 'victim' ... Thanks Columbus Dispatch 12/23/14

Teen shot dead by shopper in Dayton wanted shoes

Miami Township Police Sgt. Jay Phares speaks at a news conference about the fatal shooting at the Dayton Mall on Saturday over a limited release of an athletic shoe.
Police were studying mall surveillance video today in their investigation of the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Ohio boy authorities say tried to rob a shopper in his quest to obtain popular, limited-edition athletic shoes.

Miami Township police said a man with a concealed weapon permit fired his gun after he and another man were accosted Saturday morning by three teens on a sidewalk outside the Dayton Mall. Police said one teen had showed a gun.

Jawaad Jabbar of Middletown died a short time later of a gunshot wound to his torso, authorities said.

Police said the two groups — the three teens and the two men — didn’t know each other, but had all had gone to the mall south of Dayton for Nike Air Jordan sales offered by multiple stores.

Police Chief Ronald Hess said the stores had set up systems to avoid long, tense lines that have led to problems elsewhere when the popular brand has released new versions, and the three Middletown teens apparently missed out.

Police said the teens were outside on a sidewalk when the two men left the mall carrying newly bought shoes.

“They did have the boxes from the stores that were having the limited-edition sales,” Hess told The Associated Press. Police said Jabbar displayed a gun and demanded their merchandise, then the man with the concealed weapon permit pulled out his gun and shot him. No one else was injured.

The other two teens remained held in juvenile detention while the investigation continues. Police haven’t released the identity of the man who fired the shot, and are still investigating his actions.

“We’ll review the whole case with the county prosecutor, and if they determine he violated some law, then yes (he could be charged),” Hess said. There was no estimate on how long the investigation would take, he said.

Jabbar’s father, Wallace Jabbar, told The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News in a brief telephone call that he was “obviously devastated” and has been out of town working. The newspaper said Jabbar’s mother declined to comment.

Jawaad Jabbar was a student and athlete at Middletown High School, which is on holiday break.

The Nike shoes named for retired basketball superstar Michael Jordan are prized by both athletes and collectors, and entrepreneurs often sell shoes bought for around $200 at double that or more online.

Police in New Jersey and Louisiana reported armed robberies in recent months involving Air Jordans, and a Springfield, Massachusetts, man was sentenced to up to four years in prison for a shooting that wounded an 11-year-old girl waiting in line at an Air Jordan sale in 2013.

News media outlets in the Toledo, Ohio, area reported last week that police used pepper spray to disperse crowds gathered for an Air Jordan shoe sale at Franklin Park Mall.

Nike didn’t immediately respond today to a request for comment.

There's an important detail missing here, CD, and that is whether or not the police found a gun on the body of the deceased. If police are withholding that information, it should at least be noted that this is the case. A lot of folks have jumped on this one in defense of the CCW shooter, but I think we need to have all the facts here.

A life of crime has its risks. It was either the thug or the customer. The thug lost. Thank goodness the customer had the right frame of mine to protect himself. Otherwise, it would be the family of the victim that would be grieving.

So--SMBC, your assumptions are that the shooter is truthful and that the victim did have a gun. I cannot rule those possibilities out, however, neither can I accept them as fact. Hence of the importance of the gun question.

Most criminals lack the ability or will to think ahead. They rarely think ahead and consider the usual "what ifs". They just tend to act on the impulse of the moment and expect the outcome to be just fine. No evidence of self discipline. They are usually disappointed if they get caught, shot or otherwise hurt.

READER & BOPPER - yes, the teen did have a gun - a REAL gun at that. Police have possession of both guns per multiple stories on both the local newspapers site and the national press. As well, the local paper says that the teen who died has had several brushes with the law this year alone, since moving to Middletown from Columbus. There were also 5 adult witnesses to the entire incident. GMAT - wanted or stealing? He wanted them, so he pulled a gun and demanded them. He got something entirely different instead. Sad for his family, good for HIS victims family.

Comment about John Clay's 12/24/14 article:

Posting as Sam Kegley (Not you?)

John Clay has a remarkably good article about Cal and 'tin; however, this UK fan agrees that Pitino did wonderfully in reviving UK. However, from his early years, he began flirting to get back into the league, and he almost never mentioned that another couple of coaches, Adolph and Joe B. created the legend of University of Kentucky basketball. He considered that 'he', in his prideful greatness, created the legend he merely perpetuated.

The LHL also has a lot of this season's 'L' players commenting on this coming Saturday's contest. I remember WV handing the Cats their head on a platter fairly recently by making all of their 3's while UK made almost none. The 2014-2015 Cats survived a lesser team's onslaught of 3's recently but it was defense of this platoon practiced Wildcats team that saved the day. L and 'tin are proud of their rat defense. So! It is nearly time to play the game with the players live on the court, the referees assigned and the two basketball genii o n the benches. I welcome the viewing Saturday! May the best team (UK) win!

Just another crazy but open-minded fan of IT (Kentucky basketball fandom).
