For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Rafiki - The Lion King Guru /// SamKat

Rafiki - The Lion King Guru ... SamKat

Though insightful on the inside, Rafiki does not always match up on the outside. Loud-mouthed and as outgoing as they come, the old baboon does not fear judgment, taking it upon himself to be as annoying and energetic as possible in order to bring about order in the Pride Lands. His methods are often bothersome to the other creatures around him, as he doesn't mind crossing social barriers in order to nudge others in the right direction. This can be seen when he chants nonstop in Simba's ear and tugs provokingly at Kovu's tail. His energy is plentiful, and he is capable of outrunning a lion when pent up on excitement. However, when this energy is vented in anger, Rafiki proves himself to be a rather dangerous foe, capable of taking on a large group of hyenassingle-handedly. His high-strung personality can be deadly, though it is more often than not used for good.

A screenshot of Rafiki, reflecting his more high-strung and spunky side

Despite these odd bursts of vivacity, Rafiki is a gentle caretaker and a loyal friend. When handling infant Simba, he is shown to be soft in his movements and eager to play, shaking the gourds on his staff above the infant's head. He is also courteous of the child's parents, always looking to them for assurance before handling the cub, and harbors friendly relations with both, though more so with Mufasa. Since the lion's adolescence, Rafiki has been watching over the Pride Lands, devoting himself to keeping his promise to Mufasa's father, Ahadi. In keeping this promise, which spans the course of many years, Rafiki establishes a covenant with the royal family, devoting himself entirely to their kingdom and their betterment. Dedicated and loyal, he has been a constant heart of the kingdom and continues to serve even in his old age.

Only 1/3 of all Vietnam Vets are alive today!

The Wall

A little history most people will never know.

Interesting Veterans Statistics off the Vietnam Memorial Wall.

There are 58,267 names now listed on that polished black wall,
including those added in 2010.

The names are arranged in the order in which they were taken from us
by date and within each date the names are alphabetized. It is hard to
believe it is 57 years since the first casualty.

The first known casualty was Richard B. Fitzgibbon, of North Weymouth,
Mass. Listed by the U.S. Department of Defense as having been killed
on June 8, 1956. His name is listed on the Wall with that of his son,
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Richard B. Fitzgibbon III, who was killed on
Sept. 7, 1965.

There are three sets of fathers and sons on the Wall.

39,996 on the Wall were just 22 or younger.

8,283 were just 19 years old.

The largest age group, 33,103 were 18 years old.

12 soldiers on the Wall were 17 years old.

5 soldiers on the Wall were 16 years old.

One soldier, PFC Dan Bullock was 15 years old.

997 soldiers were killed on their first day in Vietnam .

1,448 soldiers were killed on their last day in Vietnam .

31 sets of brothers are on the Wall.

Thirty one sets of parents lost two of their sons.

54 soldiers attended Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia I
wonder why so many from one school.

8 Women are on the Wall, Nursing the wounded.

244 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War;
153 of them are on the Wall.

Beallsville, Ohio with a population of 475 lost 6 of her sons.

West Virginia had the highest casualty rate per capita in the nation.
There are 711 West Virginians on the Wall.

The Marines of Morenci - They led some of the scrappiest high school
football and basketball teams that the little Arizona copper town of
Morenci (pop. 5,058) had ever known and cheered. They enjoyed roaring
beer busts. In quieter moments, they rode horses along the Coronado
Trail, stalked deer in the Apache National Forest . And in the
patriotic camaraderie typical of Morenci's mining families, the nine
graduates of Morenci High enlisted as a group in the Marine Corps.
Their service began on Independence Day, 1966. Only 3 returned home.

The Buddies of Midvale - LeRoy Tafoya, Jimmy Martinez, Tom Gonzales
were all boyhood friends and lived on three consecutive streets in
Midvale, Utah on Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues. They lived only a
few yards apart. They played ball at the adjacent sandlot ball field.
And they all went to Vietnam . In a span of 16 dark days in late 1967,
all three would be killed. LeRoy was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the
fourth anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. Jimmy died less
than 24 hours later on Thanksgiving Day. Tom was shot dead assaulting
the enemy on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

The most casualty deaths for a single day was on January 31, 1968 ~ 245 deaths.

The most casualty deaths for a single month was May 1968 - 2,415
casualties were incurred.

For most Americans who read this they will only see the numbers that
the Vietnam War created. To those of us who survived the war, and to
the families of those who did not, we see the faces, we feel the pain
that these numbers created. We are, until we too pass away, haunted
with these numbers, because they were our friends, fathers, husbands,
wives, sons and daughters. There are no noble wars, just noble
warriors.

Please pass this on to those who served during this time, and those
who  DO Care.

All this and I am wondering …. How many movie stars, kids are on the
wall? AND how many kids from those people sitting in elected or
appointed seats in Washington DC were killed in Viet Nam?

I know Ellen and Coach Cal's kids love him a lot!  However, we have a 17 year old granddaughter, Ida Scout, who has always surprised us with her come-backs whuich are so far ahead of Jeanie and me in our eighties.  If either of us says: "I love you, Ida.  Her come-back is ;"I love you more."

His family should and must love the guy but Jeanie and I feel like we love him even more.

The Guy always throws accolades to the creator of UK fans IT fandom, Coach Adolph Rupp. Cal  takes his teams to away games and finds an orphanage or any girl and boys club and these many soon-to-be-millionaires help Cal and his staff wash the feet of the kids.  Now, that is so what Jesus Christ did for his apostles before He was crucified.  We have great respect and great love for this very humble Christian Catholic Gentleman-Coach.  Can't help loving the guy!

Cal was so happy for Dom Hawkins in the SEC tourney! He enjoyed so much that John Wall was Player of the Week in the East NBA and Karl Towns the same in the West NBA.  They want to be the best even among the very best!  He wants each coach and each of his staff if there is any seeming afront, "Take it personal!"Have the "Wind at your Back", That is what we always tell these kids.Give it 40 minutes of energy.Don't be afraid to miss shots- Keep shooting'.  Do not be afraid to lose!

Coach Rupp won 41 Championships over his 40 years.  I can't come close to that. The coach was way ahead of his time!

A fan called about the seeding of the past NCAA Committee.  Cal claims it is a tough job but this committee did the best of the last 7/8 years.  We beat N Carolina in head-to head, but they are really good now.  I thought AZ might be a 1 seed because they beat UCLA and Oregon recently.  AZ is behind us in the seeding.  The seeding is done for the kids who work so hard, not for the coaches, the schools, nor the AD's.

Our 19 year old kids are 'hitting' better"! A fan wanted to see Bam shoot a three.  We believe Bam is our hardest worker, his lay-ups and shots are so much improved.  He is 6'9", almost 6'10", but he can guard any position on the opposition.

Monk and Gabriel and a couple of our coaches were in the gym at 7 AM while we played three games in nearly only 48 hours because we did not have pre-game shoot arounds.

About this tournament, Cal says: "Let's go!"

All the above is only a little about why Jeanie and I think we love Cal more than even the Coach Cal family.  But they have first dibs and that is okay!

Sam & Jeanie Kegley. Sam is also known as SamKat or SamKat83 in the brackets.

I have my B.S. and Jeanie received her PhT (Putting Hubby Through) at UK back in 1961
