I don't know who Butch Adams is and when I hit Google with his name, I get many items. Nonetheless, I canoed and rafted and loved my time on streams, both wild and mild. I once read that a great therapy for nerves is to lie on the bottom of a boat and let the sound of the waves on the bottom of the boat soothe.
There is a wonderful calming by the sound or sight of flowing water and the various home fountains suggest so.
