Words can certainly be powerful. Spoken words sneaked in a muslim president on us.
I am just Sammy Kegley, one of ten children raised by Forest and Mary Kegley on McConnell Ave. in Portsmouth, Ohio. Adjectives are words which describe and nouns are the names of persons, places or things. Two words which I would neither neither want to be described as are a racist nor a gay. I think of no way to defend racism, because I believe we are all God's children whatever circumstance we were born into. I am not smart enough to even speak of the word "gay" which meant happy or carefree when I grew up in Portsmouth and I would believe that it mostly fit me then. But not for the well known meaning of the word "gay" now. I just use the word without condemming it.
One of my favorite words is "integrity" which to me means doing the right thing in a given situation. My second book is "Acquaintances With Integrity" written in 2002. I like the word because, in my life, those are the people who have had the best influence on my living habits. It shouldn't surprise those of my acquaintances that a couple of those people I interviewed are ministers and I thank the Christian God for their words which continually influence me. But all of those acquaintances and many others who I did not interview for the book, are just good people in my sight who obtain respect by their consistently "right thing" actions.
My favorite adjective is also a noun- "Christian". Do I deserve the name applied to me. No, I don't deserve it but it is mine anyway because God sent his Son to die for me and if I believe in him He will advocate for me before His Father in Heaven. How wonderful are the words of Jesus Christ!
