Here's something that I think you will appreciate if you have not heard it before.
What a beautiful tone and she makes it appear so effortless. I had to play it
several times and hearing Taps played so well always chokes me up. Also,
read the script below.

Il Silenzio

About six miles from Maastricht.. in the Netherlands lie buried 8,301 American soldiers who died in "Operation Market Garden" in the battles to liberate Holland in the fall and winter of 1944-5.

Everyone of the men buried in the cemetary, as well as those in the Canadian and British military cemeteries has been adopted by a Dutch family who mind the grave, decorate, and keep alive the memory of the soldier they have adopted. It is even the custom to keep a portrait of "their" American soldier in a place of honor in their home.

Annually on "Liberation Day" Memorial Services are held for "the men who died to liberate Holland." The day concludes with a concert. The final piece is always "Il Silenzio", a memorial piece commissioned by the Dutch and first played in 1965 on the 20th anniversary of Holland's liberation. It has been the concluding piece of the memorial concert ever since,

This year the soloist was a 13 year old Dutch girl, Melissa Venema, backed by Andre Rieu and his orchestra. This beautiful concert piece is based upon the original version of "Taps" and was composed by Italian composer Nino Rossi.

Who knew? Easter Island  Statues have bodies The Stone Statues in Easter Island have  bodies ! This is absolutely incredible.
A  Here we've been  thinking for all these years that they were just  heads.
A  They are going  to be absolutely huge when they are completely  excavated.
A  It all just  adds to the mystery of these amazing  sculptures.
A Maybe now they  can get more information about them seeing as they have  writings on them.

Truck stop breakfast order ... Thx Clay V!

For many who travel, often the best food is a truck stop.  I wonder what the waitress would have to say if someone actually ordered their breakfast as this guy did?!


TRUCKER'S BREAKFAST - It's coffee (honest!),  A trucker came into a Truck Stop Cafe' and placed his order.

He said I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards.'

The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, 'This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards.  What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?'

'No,' the cook said.  'Three flat tires... mean three pancakes; a pair of headlights... is two eggs sunny side up; and a pair of running boards... are 2 slices of crisp bacon!

'Oh... OK!' said the blonde.  She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer.

The trucker asked, 'What are the beans for, Blondie?'

(I love this one...! )

She replied, 'I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!

FOR ONCE THE BLONDE GETS EVEN!!!!!
