Just thoughts from a Christian evangelical Christian ... SamKat aka Sam Kegley

There was a "butcher evangelicals who are for Trump"article in this past Sunday's Dispatch.  Several local and national pastors were quoted who put The Donald down.  It was somewhat like the Pope calling Trump non-Christian for wanting to complete the wall between Mexico and the USA.  The article and the Pope were each overly reactionary and showed unfortunate judgement in my estimation.

However, I, an evangelical Christian, began thinking of not voting for Trump when I heard him utter a couple of comments last week.  First he was asked if the military would obey his orders.  He responded that they "surely will" in the fashion of a dictator.   The guy now serving as Commander in Chief thinks exactly the same way and he has no foreign successes in serving the American people for the last seven and more years.  His judgement is unsound.  I would prefer one who would respect our military and their trained leaders and listen to their advice before going off half-cocked in the wrong direction as obama always does.

Another thing Donald said was that he would kill the families of any caught terrorists.  That sounded just as barbaric as the islamic terrorists themselves.  Their system gives each male much power over their family members through following shariah law.  Some females and children themselves  have committed suicide bombings and deserve little mercy.  But the vast majority of our committed enemies are mainly young men, such as those we see as the majority of illegal immigrants, who look forward to 72 virgins as their rewards in the after life.

I began studying Ted Cruz more intently by going to his wikipedia.  Anti-Cruz comments have indicated that many in the Congress hate him.  Inevitably those people are establishment Republican representatives who oppose Cruz's Tea Party actions in his Senatorial servings supporting us TP's.  Unlike obama, who did practically nothing as a Senator for too short a time, Cruz pursued many conservative causes in his three year actives as a Senator.  Thus the mainly establishment hatred.

Trump stands up and receives similar put-downs by the same establishment groups and I like that fact of his campaign the country his so ripe for dictatorship right now and America does NOT  need that.

Cruz has not been the complete saint in these far too many debates on TV.  However his academic excellence in Princeton and Harvard, with high praise degrees, sets him far above the less accomplished lawyers.  He shows commitment to return our country to its constitutionally guaranteed freedoms.

Ohio's voting caucus is next week and my serious thoughts are to vote for Ted Cruz.  Katich has fallen too far behind in the debates and I believe each of the initial 17 republican candidates would help the nominee form a strong cabinet, especially John Kasich.  I had high hopes for Romney but he chose to crawl across the finish line rather than burst across as he should have.
