Re: Integrity in Xenos sermon this morning.
I am grateful Sunday mornings for the privilege of meeting to worship our God. My wife, Jeanie, and I have chosen Xenos of Westerville for the last few years. So many times I have prayed for Christians all over this world, whether Sunday morning or whenever, who gather like us to worship our creator, God.
Paul Alexander was his messenger today and he did a wonderful job. Xenos, a church in Columbus, Ohio, started at Ohio State University, must qualify as a mega church, which to me means 2000 worshippers a week. I have never heard bad teaching at Xenos from perhaps ten different presenters.
Young Mr. Alexander poured his soul into this teaching with personal history, Beatles' song quotes, and bible scriptures from First John. I, along with so many, was very impressed.
Paul A. cited Jesus' teaching and healing of the blind man, blind from birth. Pharisees attending asked John: "If you aren't the Messiah or Elijah, or the prophet, what right do you have to baptize?" John Replied: "I merely baptize with water, but right here in the crowd is someone you have never met, who will ... babtize with the Holy Spirit, and I am not even fit to be his slave."
Christ was the great teacher and he performed miracles before many witnesses. His teachings have been quoted more than any other quotes from literature throughout the nearly 2000 years since.
We recently witnessed another shooting by a crazed individual, but we must also bear witness to the love of our God in sending His beloved son.
He loves even the imperfect creations like me, and even Jeanie.
