Popularly, the national media repeatedly says our population is 50:50 leftists to conservatives.

I doubt that.  The explanation of the electoral college recently emailed around says that the popular election could be decided by NYC voters if the electoral college wasn't in action.  A very slight exaggeration.  If you throw in Boston., LA, and Chicago and San Francisco, those guys could easily do it abnd we would have their leftist socialist political control in our country.  Great no more in my opinion.  

No matter who conducts the poll, the 86:14 ratio of God Believers to non-unbelievers sin. the USA remains very consistent in my observations.  Very much like the well recognized Pareto Principle.

Unfortunately in looking back to the 50:50 ratio. all believers aren't voting, probably in any age group.
