Heartfelt
Recommendation for all Americans
I, a white man of 86 years, am a very slow reader, and I am
nearly half-way through a book I want to finish as I can now. The book I recommend is by a black man. Not just a black man but also an MD and a
surgeon and a strong American, Dr. Ben Carson. It is with Candy Carson. The 2015 book is entitled: “One Nation”.
America is divided nearly in half and has a too large
federal government. Essentially, half of
our voters are in just a few large cities and the other half are spread out
across America.
Tea Party types, like me, are not seeking to be Republican
nor are they seeking to be Democrats. We
want our country to succeed in being a world leader in every benevolent sense.
I am not wanting civil war; however, I have felt we walk a narrow edge of having that. Our nineteenth-century civil war caused 600,000
war deaths. I do not want that, nor do I
believe that any of us desire such.
Dr. Carson emphasizes the point throughout the book that we
must act as one nation to have America become one nation in the true
sense.
To do that we must overcome the constant political bickering
which begets hatred and confrontation rather than helping our country advance.
