From someone who has served in the military regarding the naming of a ship after Murtha . . .
John Murtha might have been in the Marine Corps but he was never a marine.
He was a self serving scumbag of a politician.
He would do or say anything to advance himself.
He did great damage to the Armed services.
He was an unindicted coconspirator
in the ABSCAM investigation.
He arranged for an airport to be named after himself.
That is far more than he deserved. What he should have received was a nice 20 years in a Federal prison.
The idea of naming a ship after this scumbag makes me sick.
I am not at all surprised that the current leadership would consider this idea at all.
