Thanks for your addition, Clay!
Mick is a good one and Ray Kornhoff's son. His story is in my Softball "It Don' Matta" book and he told me a lot of good things about Wayne Widdig and many others.

THANKS SAM FOR THIS STORIES, I RECALL SOME OF THE PEOPLE MENTIONED IN IT. I WAS PLAYING A GAME OF CHURCH LEAGUE SOFTBALL WHICH WAS FAST PITCH DOWN ON INDUSTRIAL NO, FOUR WHICH WAS WEST OF THE FOOTBALL STADIUM AGAINST CENTRAL CATHOLIC AND MICK KORNOFF WAS CATCHING FOR C.C. AND WE WERE BEATING THEM BAD AND IT WAS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE REASON WE WERE BEATING THEM SO BAD WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE " "MINNIE MUNCHERS " REFEREEING TO MINNIES THAT WE USED FOR BAIT OR SARDINES THAT THEY ATE, AND I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE BATTER BOX BECAUSE I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD EVER HEARD THE TERM " MINNIE MUNCER", ALWAYS HEARD " FISH EATER ", AFTER THAT MICK AND I BECAME GOOD FRIENDS AND WORKED TOGETHER ON CONSTRUCTION JOBS, MICK WAS A PIPE FITTER AND I WAS A CRANE OPERATOR. VERY GOOD MEMORIES.
