This is election is close. Extremely close.
This weekend’s polls are showing Ted Strickland in an absolute dead heat. But here’s the really crucial line from one of the polls:
“If the final electorate ends up being even just a point or two more Democratic than we're anticipating it could end up being enough to put Strickland over the top.”
More Democrats than anyone’s expecting are going to turn out to vote. And it’s because the Ohio Democratic Party has put together a massive Election Day turnout operation that will carry Ted and other Democrats to victory.
But Republicans are flooding Ohio with special interest cash. Friend, we can do more. We have to do more. The day after Election Day, I don’t want to have any regrets.
Our get-out-the-vote numbers are already incredible.
In our first two days of GOTV, Ohio Democrats knocked 246,000 doors statewide and our volunteers made an astounding 1.1 million phone calls to targeted voters.
But this race is so close. I don’t want us to come just a few votes short because we didn’t try hard enough.
