UK fans nearly universally ignore him, but the Lexington Herald Leader apparently enjoys him. I received this through Aaron's UK Wildcat blogs, not through the Herald Leader which I seldom go to anymore for UK news.

Cal downplays importance of first-round bye in SEC

After Kentucky beat Vanderbilt on Tuesday, forward Terrence Jones said he put a priority on gaining the No. 2 seed in next week’s SEC Tournament. Teams with the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in each division get a first-round bye.
Jones suggested a non-bye team having to win four games in four days might be too much to ask of a Kentucky team with essentially a six-man rotation.
UK Coach John Calipari downplayed the necessity of a bye or its motivational properties.
“My whole thing is the seed,” he said Friday, meaning seed in the NCAA

I love Coach Cal, but I wonder if he truly gets IT when he intimates that the SEC tournament doesn’t matter. In my late seventies , and with God only knows how much time I and my wife have to enjoy the Wildcats, he might ruin our vacation in Catlanta. Cat fans travel well, but we travel expecting wins! Many of our friends gather for the SEC tourneys. Cal is such an excellent fit, but he must humor us crazy fans just this one more step.
