Sam, your mention of uncle
Bert made a grand contribution to this day also. "It won't be a cough that
carries me off, but a coffin they cary me off in." I've often wondered about his
funeral , although, I am definitely not a fan of funerals. Also," The ark was
made of gopher wood.There were gophers on it too. I f you could go for a gopher;
could a gopher go for you. There was never another like him, especially in
Portsmouth. His fingers badly tar stained from the way he held his cigarettes...
My other favorite, I recall everytime I write to Sarah Rapp. Miss Henrietta
Dupuy. I loved her then and I love her now( like a favorite aunt).I know I had
her two years. I have no idea how we( Jim, Doc, and I) had uncle Bert two
years. Miss Dupuy, of course called Doc , Stephen all the time. Jim and I got on
that and called him by his complete name.... Stephen Jesse. He didn't like that
at all but he never said anything till one day one of Miss Dupuys other
favorites called him that. Doc immediately got in that guys face. Two guys can
call me that and get away with it. You call me that one more time and I'll hurt
you bad. Miss Dupuy was aghast if I could go back and pick( of all the places I
have seen or heard of---there would be no change. Portsmouth, hands down. Jack
P.
