Kentucky Basketball

Nerlens Noel out for the rest of this season with a torn ACL

Coach Cal came a little late for his coach's radio show bvecause he attended his Catholic ?church for Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.

Most all Kentuckians are interested in the condition of Nerlens Noel (first) and the team (second).

Cal indicates that normal rehab after the surgery is about six or seven months.  At that point he may not wish to go to the pro tryouts , etc.  Cal told him If he decides not he can return next year and become the best big man in the country.

Now everybody has to step their own performances up about 34 %.  No excuses for let downs.  If I must play with only five I will, but all must be performing.  We can't block as many shots.  We may play more zone.  Jon Hood will be expected to play more.  He has been practicing terrifically and he must step up now.  He helped a lot while Willy Cauley-Stein was out.

We can have no more "stinkin' thinkin'.  We need more rebounds per game from Willy  (4) and Kyle and (3) and the guards must get around 3.  We are still a good team but none can take time off while they are on the court.

We did without Harrow early in the season, Cauley-Stein recently and now we are without Nerlens Noel.  Adversity comes to everybody.  Coaches from all over have called including Billy, but I haven't had time to respond.

Some may not trust our coach, but Kentucky fans have found hoim to be an honest person beyond being our head basketball coach.

Cal talks and my ability to hear is far less than normal, but I completely trust the gentleman and enjoy all of his comments.
