Actor James Woods recently tweeted that he doesn't "expect to work again" in Tinseltown following his public criticism of President Barack Obama earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Woods blamed Obama for World War II veterans being denied access to their Memorial because of the partial government shutdown. Woods also pointed out the Parks Department permitted a coalition of immigrant rights groups to rally for immigration reform on Tuesday at the National Mall.

A Twitter follower of Woods responded to his tweet, "dude, aren't u worried about...u know..ever working again??"

Woods responded:

The veterans were eventually granted access to the war memorial.

Woods, who has appeared in 135 movies and television shows over the course of his 40-year career, is perhaps best known for the films, "Casino," "Once Upon a Time in America," "Nixon," "The Specialist," and "Diggstown," among many others.

Woods' tweet garnered more than 2,600 retweets and countless replies, as compiled by Twitchy.com:

This isn't the first time Woods has taken to Twitter to voice his criticism of the president.

In July, Woods weighed in on Obama's statements regarding the George Zimmerman trial, in which the president initially said Martin "could have been my son," and later, "'Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.'"

In response to the president's remarks, Woods tweeted, "Just curious. Does the president of the United States have any advice for other teenage boys in America? Wounded warriors, for example . . ." More than 800 people retweeted him.

Woods added, "ALL youth of every heritage in this country would benefit from jobs and manageable student loans, NOT a bloated welfare state."

Obama claimed he was the victim of discrimination as a young man; people locked their car doors when he walked past simply because he was black.

Woods responded to that remark as well: "The only reason people lock their car doors when Obama walks by is they are afraid he'll tax them to death . . . " The tweet received more than 1,000 retweets.

One of Woods' most cutting characterizations of Obama came in early September.

Other Hollywood conservatives include Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, and Chuck Norris.

Whether or not Woods' career will be affected by his anti-Obama comments is yet to be seen.

The veteran actor recently appeared in the thriller "White House Down," and is currently in the Showtime TV series "Ray Donovan."
