Herman Rosenblat - Wikipedia

My good and honest friend, Blaine Bierley, and I have been duped, as so many others have, by Henry Rosenblat who told such a beautiful story of the Apple and the Fence as truth.  Later, as declared in "Herman Rosenblat"- Wikipedia, Herman sadly admitted that he had embellished the story and told it as truth before it was published.  Nonetheless, It is worthwhile visiting for yourself.

Personally, I forgive Herman.  Embellishment is ok,  It it would have been so much better if he had told it as historical-fiction.  In the told circumstances, his story grabbed your heart and made you want to believe it.  I am an author, in the genre' of Studs Terkel.  I, unfortunately have mostly paid for my books although I nearly broke even with my publications of Portsmouth Ohio interviewees by my friends in Portsmouth.  My ten books are interview stories by people I choose to interview because I am impressed by the way good people live their lives in one way or another as I have observed throughout my life.

My one fiction book, "Grandparents and Softball" was published as fiction, and I certainly embellished it, because of my wife, Jeanie's and of my own pride of the early successes of our lovely young graddaughter, Tobey Kegley. Tobe became a much better than average softball pitcher in her grade school years up through the eighth grade in Jones Elementary School in Upper Arlington.  Like her father and our son, Jay Kegley did in his young life, she suddenly dropped her interest in active sports. We had so many enjoyable trips following her softball, and particularly in summer travel teams.  We need not embellish that she was good, and let me say very good!  Her younger sister, Ida Scout, played with Upper Arlington's varsity last season and is on the team for the coming season as a sophomore.

I played softball up until I was 75, and I believe it to be a terrific game.

God, please bless Herman Rosenblat.  I am sure that his early years were no fun in the prison camps.
President Eisenhauer admonished Americans to never let the Holocaust be forgotten as many evil people are 'won't to do' as history progresses.  My generation saw the newsreels terrible ditchloads of Jewish corpses in ditches and live Jewish loaded onto cattle cars.  There is evil and good in this world and it is very much in evidence with all enhabitants still.
