My eighty-three Years ... SamKat aka Sam Kegley
I am a lucky guy. My Nisei friend, Sgt. Noboru Yamamoto, probably six years older, and a single guy, would come into my room in our Tokyo barracks, quite inebriated, crawl all over my covered sleeping body, look at my wife, Jeanie's, picture by my bunk, and exclaim "How you get so lucky, boy? Such a good looking woman!" I have tried to locate my Nisei friend unsuccessfully, throughout my computer days of the last twenty years. Best I can tell, he passed on while residing in California.
The world has so much evil causing so much fear among the luckiest citizens in the world, citizens of the United States of America. Our country has been so blessed because our mostly Christian leaders have built a nation of laws, with the finest constitution ever designed and guardedly revised by its' citizen representatives. We have ceased to have a lot of representation by many elected officials who have put their own interests above these citizens.
The USA is not the only blessed nation, but I believe it is the most blessed. God bless the mercenary US service people who have sacrificed their lives and their wounded bodies in valiant attempts to keep pour free countries free during the last decades. Our draftee and volunteer service people also fought for these freedoms through world wars and other battles. Selfish politicians have bargained a lot away and have ignored the constitutional rights we have enjoyed through our 239 years of constitutional protections. They would change more towards socialized government even in America. We saw such dictatorships and com, munis socialists fail in the twentieth centuries. Our your are too young and our schools and media are also took young with too few to remember the atrocities to a not-free proletariat.
I really don't take as gospel in my over-simplified reverie-thoughts that Life is like a pin ball machine, i.e., God pulled back on the lever and let it go and our individual ball (life) was projected upwards through the one way valve and into the world. We may have come through a couple in Africa, China, North America, South America, Australia, Eastern or Western Europe, Middle East, or anywhere in the world. The way that pin ball table was designed on our tilted board, and the bumpers on it and the skill of those politicians bouncing our ball off of each bumper, as well as our own efforts determine how we may go through our life, descending towards our eventual death to life on earth, determines when we die. Often each one's parents and siblings help us extend our lives along with our own determination and skills in pin ball operation.
How great the plan of our Creator to, when convinced the world was so nearly full of evil, He would insert His love into the great equation, and send a savior two thousand years ago who would be born so poor, work as a laboring craftsperson for thirty years, and then suffer cruel crucifixion and death at the hands of the world's politicians of the time; then die as a sacrifice for the sins of all of us humans. I also believe in His miracles and his wisdom of love's preachings. The plan was that those who believed that wonderful story would not die but have everlasting life.
I am a lucky guy. Free citizens everywhere are lucky guys and gals! Happy 2016!
Thanks to our great Creator who remains in control and in love with all of His creation.
