Some of our family are religious Catholics or Protestants like Jeanie and me and some are agnostics, although not all say so. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a very Merry Christmas in our Condo Christmas evening with our sons and their families except for Jeff's step sons Will and Daniel Allen.
I cut down on the number of nativities this year to a very few silver and gold ones, whereas I had built up to over 200 when we lived in our house at 428 Illinois in Westerville.
We visited both of our sons Christmas Day and enjoyed Jay's wife's Terri Meyers' family's Christmas there. We saw Will and Daniel at Jeff's and Suzy's Christmas afternoon.
I have to say my biggest surprise was the bright young athlete and over four point academic, Oliver Miller, Tobey and Ida Scout's cousin and son of Dan and Jenny Miller's began singing Happy Birthday to what I thought might become Jay or other December birthday people's birthdays. To my appreciative surprise, Oliver continued to sing "to Jesus, Happy Birthday to you."
I couldn't find my 2' by 8' sign which says "Happy Birthday Jesus" this year, because I still have too much stored in our storage area and our garage. I first saw the sign in a Japanese parade when I was in Tokyo in the US Army Christmas 1954, when I watched a kid's Christmas Parade and they had a large sign stretching from from side of the street to the other with "Happy Birthday Jesus". It warmed the cockles of this eighty-three year olds' heart to hear the wonderful young Oliver start the song at Jay's for the Meyers' Christmas.
Over-all we had an Excellent Christmas but I thank Oliver for making it truly special!
