I realize that all grandparents are proud of their grandkids, except for the incorrigible 3 % kids. Even they are loved by caring grandparents. Jeanie and I are so proud of each of ours and each for a varitey of reasons.
I recently read "Happy Trails" a book chronicling the lives of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. We are proud that RR was a native of Duck run , 12 miles west of Portsmouth, 'the city' to Roy. I have also read much about Annie Oakley, the Greenville, Ohio farm girl. Both Annie and Roy became sharp shooters of game to help their families eat.
Our Tobey Kegley, Jay's 13 year old and soon to be 14 in July, doesn't shoot game but she pitches fast pitch softball so well that she strikes out many of the opposing batters and hits the other fast pitch pitchers so well that it feeds us fans who love her so much. She plays all positions assigned to her with moxie a thing my good friend, Dick Klitch, has always had in excess.
God blessed Roy and Dale as they raised many kids of a variety of health issues and he has blessed us lesser grandparents, Sam & Jeanie, with great grandkids such as Morgan, Ida Scout, Will and Daniel Allen (Jeff's wife Suzy's great athletic sons) and we didn't forget Tobey above.
