Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Wilson vs. Obama -- Who Spoke The Truth?
By Doug Patton
September 14, 2009

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - Jesus of
Nazareth, John 8:32, KJV

"Congress shall make no law respecting..." Do those words sound familiar?
They are, of course, familiar to any and all of us who have received even a
cursory education in the founding documents of this nation. The Constitution
of the United States of America is a document of enumerated rights and
restrictions -- rights of the people and restrictions on government. It
clearly spells out the rights of individuals, such as freedom of speech,
religion, assembly, the right to keep and bear arms, etc.

It also clearly spells out, in no uncertain terms, the restrictions on the
federal government, including the 10th Amendment, which states that any
authority not expressly granted to the federal government is reserved to the
states and to the people. Hence, the phrase "Congress shall make no law
regarding..."

Barack Obama's health care "plan" does not exist anywhere outside his
ideologically driven cranium and his vague, hopey-changey campaign rhetoric.
The only "plan" on the table at the moment is a thousand-plus page
monstrosity known as House Resolution 3200. Yet, in his latest address to a
joint session of Congress, the president lied through his pearly whites --
again -- to the American people and their elected representatives when he
said that the "plan" would not cover illegal aliens.

At which point U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, called him on it in very direct
language: "You lie!"

"That's not true," Obama shot back from the podium. Setting aside the
decorum of the congressman's remark for a moment, let's examine which of
them, Wilson or the president, told the truth.

The Founders understood clearly that government will always take as much
authority as it is allowed to have, which explains the restrictive language
of the Constitution. In HR3200, covering illegal aliens was not mentioned.
Neither was abortion funding. Congressional Republicans rightly feared that
if the bill's language remained neutral on those two issues, it could be
assumed that they are permitted. So they proposed specific amendments to
prohibit coverage of illegal aliens and funding for abortion. Democrats
overwhelmingly voted both amendments down, thus showing us their true colors
yet again.

After the speech, Rep. Wilson called the White House to apologize to the
president, who has wisely accepted the apology, knowing that dragging the
issue out will only serve to emphasize the veracity of Wilson's point that
Obama was, in fact, lying.

No such wisdom resides in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who wants to pillory
Wilson in front of his House colleagues. She is insisting that he apologize
again, this time on the floor of the House of Representatives, a humiliating
act of forced contrition with which Wilson is refusing to cooperate. Good
for him.

There are times in history when the truth trumps decorum and tradition.
Jesus of Nazareth was furious when He encountered liars and thieves cheating
people who had simply come to worship and to offer a sacrifice to their
Lord. "My Father's house is a house of prayer," he roared as he flipped over
the tables of the money changers and drove them out of the temple. "You have
turned it into a den of thieves!"

Similarly, Joe Wilson's righteous indignation rises up from the depths of
his soul as he listens to his president commit one mendacity after another.
Wilson loves the institution of the Congress, the body of the House of
Representatives and the people he serves. He has watched as his constituents
have been disrespected by their president and his supporters at town hall
meetings throughout the summer recess.

Joe Wilson sits on one of the House committees dealing with this issue, so
he knows the truth is not in Barack Obama as he speaks to the Congress that
night. As he sits and listens to lie after lie from the president, Wilson's
righteous anger rises up against the liars and thieves who are trying to
cheat the American people out of their birthright to freedom.

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,

OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ,

AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,

ONE NATION UNDER GOD,

INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I was asked to send on if I agree, or delete if I don't.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.

Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem
in having

'In God! We Trust' on our money and having 'God' in the Pledge of

I believe it's time we stand up for what we believe!

If you agree, pass this on, if not, delete.

PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING,

A nice family story- Thanks Dave Miller.

This is a wonderful piece by Michael Gartner, editor of newspapers large and small and president of NBC News. In 1997, he won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing.

It is well worth reading and a few good chuckles are guaranteed.
----------------------
My father never drove a car. Well, that's not quite right. I should say I never saw him drive a car. He quit driving in 1927, when he was 25 years old, and the last car he drove was a 1926 Whippet. 'In those days,' he told me when he was in his 90s, 'to drive a car you had to do things with your hands, and do things with your feet, and look every which way, and I decided you could walk through life and enjoy it or drive through life and miss it.'

At which point my mother, a sometimes salty Irishwoman, chimed in: 'Oh, bull----!' she said. 'He hit a horse.'

'Well,' my father said, 'there was that, too.'

So my brother and I grew up in a household without a car. The neighbors all had cars. The Kollingses next door had a green 1941 Dodge, the VanLaninghams across the street, a gray 1936 Plymouth, the Hopsons two doors down, a black 1941 Ford -- but we had none. My father, a newspaperman in Des Moines , would take the streetcar to work and, often as not, walk the 3 miles home. If he took the streetcar home, my mother, brother and I would walk the three blocks to the streetcar stop, meet him and walk home together. My brother, David, was born in 1935, and I was born in 1938, and sometimes, at dinner, we'd ask how come all the neighbors had cars but we had none. 'No one in the family drives,' my mother would explain, and that was that.

But, sometimes, my father would say, 'But as soon as one of you boys turns 16, we'll get one.' It was as if he wasn't sure which one of us would turn 16 first.

But, sure enough, my brother turned 16 before I did, so in 1951 my parents bought a used 1950 Chevrolet from a friend who ran the parts department at a Chevy dealership downtown.

It was a four-door, white model, stick shift, fender skirts, loaded with everything, and since my parents didn't drive, it more or less became my brother's car

Having a car but not being able to drive didn't bother my father, but it didn't make sense to my mother. So in 1952, when she was 43 years old, she asked a friend to teach her to drive. She learned in a nearby cemetery, the place where I learned to drive the following year and where, a generation later, I took my two sons to practice driving. The cemetery probably was my father's idea. 'Who can your mother hurt in the cemetery?' I remember him saying more than once.

For the next 45 years or so, until she was 90, my mother was the driver in the family. Neither she nor my father had any sense of direction, but he loaded up on maps -- though they seldom left the city limits -- and appointed himself navigator. It seemed to work.

Still, they both continued to walk a lot. My mother was a devout Catholic, and my father an equally devout agnostic, an arrangement that didn't seem to bother either of them through their 75 years of marriage.
(Yes, 75 years, and they were deeply in love the entire time.)

He retired when he was 70, and nearly every morning for the next 20 years or so, he would walk with her the mile to St. Augustine 's Church. She would walk down and sit in thefront pew, and he would wait in the back until he saw which of the parish's two priests was on duty that morning. If it was the pastor, my father then would go out and take a 2-mile walk, meeting my mother at the end of the service and walking her home.

If it was the assistant pastor, he'd take just a 1-mile walk and then head back to the church. He called the priests "Father Fast" and "Father Slow."

After he retired, my father almost always accompanied my mother whenever she drove anywhere, even if he had no reason to go along. If she were going to the beauty parlor, he'd sit in the car and read, or go take a stroll or, if it was summer, have her keep the engine running so he could listen to the Cubs game on the radio. In the evening, then, when I'd stop by, he'd explain: 'The Cubs lost again. The millionaire on second base made a bad throw to the millionaire on first base, so the multimillionaire on third base scored.'

If she were going to the grocery store, he would go along to carry the bags out -- and to make sure she loaded up on ice cream. As I said, he was always the navigator, and once, when he was 95 and she was 88 and still driving, he said to me, 'Do you want to know the secret of a long life?'

'I guess so,' I said, knowing it probably would be something bizarre.

'No left turns,' he said.

'What?' I asked.

'No left turns,' he repeated. 'Several years ago, your mother and I read an article that said most accidents that old people are in happen when they turn left in front of oncoming traffic.

As you get older, your eyesight worsens, and you can lose your depth perception, it said. So your mother and I decided never again to make a left turn.'

'What?' I said again.

'No left turns,' he said. 'Think about it. Three rights are the same as a left, and that's a lot safer. So we always make three rights.'

'You're kidding!' I said, and I turned to my mother for support 'No,' she said, 'your father is right We make three rights. It works.' But then she added: 'Except when your father loses count.'

I was driving at the time, and I almost drove off the road as I started laughing.

'Loses count?' I asked.

'Yes,' my father admitted, 'that sometimes happens. But it's not a problem. You just make seven rights, and you're okay again.'

I couldn't resist. 'Do you ever go for 11?' I asked.

'No,' he said ' If we miss it at seven, we just come home and call it a bad day. Besides, nothing in life is so important it can't be put off another day or another week.'

My mother was never in an accident, but one evening she handed me her car keys and said she had decided to quit driving. That was in 1999, when she was 90. She lived four more years, until 2003. My father died the next year, at 102.

They both died in the bungalow they had moved into in 1937 and bought a few years later for $3,000. (Sixty years later, my brother and I paid $8,000 to have a shower put in the tiny bathroom -- the house had never had one. My father would have died then and there if he knew the shower cost nearly three times what he paid for the house.)

He continued to walk daily -- he had me get him a treadmill when he was 101 because he was afraid he'd fall on the icy sidewalks but wanted to keep exercising -- and he was of sound mind and sound body until the moment he died.

One September afternoon in 2004, he and my son went with me when I had to give a talk in a neighboring town, and it was clear to all three of us that he was wearing out, though we had the usual wide-ranging conversation about politics and newspapers and things in the news.

A few weeks earlier, he had told my son, 'You know, Mike, the first hundred years are a lot easier than the second hundred.' At one point in our drive that Saturday, he said, 'You know, I'm probably not going to live much longer.'

'You're probably right,' I said.

'Why would you say that?' He countered, somewhat irritated.

'Because you're 102 years old,' I said.

'Yes,' he said, 'you're right.' He stayed in bed all the next day.

That night, I suggested to my son and daughter that we sit up with him through the night.

He appreciated it, he said, though at one point, apparently seeing us look gloomy, he said:

'I would like to make an announcement. No one in this room is dead yet.'

An hour or so later, he spoke his last words:

'I want you to know,' he said, clearly and lucidly, 'that I am in no pain. I am very comfortable. And I have had as happy a life as anyone on this earth could ever have.'

A short time later, he died.

I miss him a lot, and I think about him a lot. I've wondered now and then how it was that my family and I were so lucky that he lived so long.

I can't figure out if it was because he walked through life, Or because he quit making left turns.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it.'

Interests and concerns of this blogger

This sinner doesn't deserve all of the good that has come to Jeanie and me in our lives. Yes, Jeanie has had a lot of pain, in addition to me, in her osteoarthritis and we both take many pills each day, but the pills are largely good to us in extending our lives.

Family means so much as friends also do. In looking over the list of frequencies for my posts in this blog, it is easy to see that important things must be politics, country, patriotism, etc. I post many of the forwards from friends and I am grateful for each of those posts. Those close to me know that Kentucky basketball, softball, and my writings have added much enjoyment to this elder's life. It surprises me that they are down the posting list a bit, but, at the same time, I realize that not all share those interests of mine. I hope that concerns for our country and Christianity do matter to those who come to the blog and I suspect they do to most of you who read the blog.

I have great concerns for America and our directions in taking God out of so much where He has been so important to our country in the past. I have become more conservative throughout my life and have the concern that even our rights in worshipping God can be taken away. I didn't think that could ever occur in America. It has sneaked up on us and that truly bothers me.

Our country has freely accepted so many foreigners, and many too freely recently. Assimilation to this country's laws should be expected of all who enter.

Thanks Marge Rusnak!

Subj: Fwd: What Happens in Heaven

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We
walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide
stopped in front of the first section and said, ' This is the Receiving
Section... Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received. '

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels
sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from
people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, ' This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.
Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and
delivered to the living persons who asked for them. ' I noticed again how busy
it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so
many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to
Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of
a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated ther
e, idly doing nothing. ' This is the Acknowledgment Section, ' my angel
friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed ' How is it that there
is no work going on here? ' I asked.

'So sad, ' the angel sighed. ' After people receive the blessings that
they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments. '

'How does one acknowledge God 's blessings? ' I asked.

'Simple, ' the angel answered. Just say, ' Thank you, Lord. '

'What blessings should they acknowledge? ' I asked.

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have
money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are
among the top 8% of the world 's wealthy. '

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the
world who has that opportunity. '

'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... You are
more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. '

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... You are ahead
of 700 million people in the world. '

'If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest,
torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people
in the world. '

'If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare.'

'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you 're
unique to all those in doubt and despair. '

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that
someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than
over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along
to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

ATTN: Acknowledge Dept.
'Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for
giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it. '

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been
blessed with, how can you not send it on? I thank God for everything,
especially all my family and friends!!

Why We're Talking About Race -- Again
By Star Parker
September 21, 2009

The Democrats have lost the health care debate.

For months now, polls have been showing that Americans don't want the
massive new government controls, regulations, taxes, and spending that
Democrats are pushing.

Latest Gallup polling shows 60 percent saying that President Barack Obama's
proposal will not expand health coverage without raising taxes on middle
class Americans and without affecting the current quality of health care.

Forty three percent approve of how Obama is handling health care and 52
percent disapprove.

You would be hard pressed to find a Democrat or Republican who does not
agree that we can improve how we deliver health care.

So the logical conclusion we'd expect now from well intentioned people would
be that we go back to square one. We do what Obama promised but never did --
have a truly open, bi-partisan discussion, with all ideas are on the table,
to generate the best possible product for the American people.

Why is this not happening? Because it's not about healthcare. It's about
ideology.

Despite claims from our Democrat administration that it wants civility, it
does not. It wants control.

This nation is already torn apart ideologically. In the last four months
we've witnessed two cold-blooded ideologically motivated murders. An
abortion doctor shot in a church and a pro-life demonstrator murdered in a
drive-by shooting in front of a school.

There are fewer and fewer "self evident truths" about which we all agree.

The current charade to paint ideological differences with our president as
racially motivated dangerously pours gasoline on the burning embers of our
differences.

But this is what Democrats want. They have lost the health-care debate on
substance, so they want to make it emotional. They want to intimidate. And
nothing intimidates and polarizes like race.

Months ago they started the process of getting socialized medicine -- taking
over one sixth of the American economy -- passed in a few short weeks. The
deadlines and breathlessness were because they knew that if Americans got a
chance to understand what they were trying to do there would be push back.
Exactly what has happened.

When the President spoke recently before the joint session of Congress, he
finished by asking that we replace "acrimony with civility." But in this
same speech he characterized his opposition as fomenting a "partisan
spectacle," of "scare tactics" and of "wild claims about a government
takeover of health care."

Our smooth talking President reduced those who disagree with him to a bunch
of clowns, incorporated not a single major reform idea coming from the
opposition, and then accused Republicans of stifling "honest debate."

Is it any wonder that every freedom loving American is at wits end? And that
Congressman Joe Wilson lost it when he yelled out "You lie."

To demonstrate the Obama team's interest in civility, immediately after the
speech, Rahm Emanuel, Obama's foul-mouthed, take-no-prisoners chief of
staff, "charged over to three Republicans," as reported by the Wall St.
Journal, "demanding in a profanity-laced tirade that they force Mr. Wilson
to apologize."

Cong. Jim Clyburn, third ranking House Democrat, and black caucus member,
took the lead in getting a House vote to formally reprimand Wilson.
According to Clyburn, "This is about the rules of the House."

But what rules does Clyburn really care about?

When asked in an interview where the Constitution gives the federal
government authority to regulate health care delivery, Clyburn replied,
"There's nothing in the Constitution that says that the federal government
has anything to do with most of the stuff we do."

Finally an honest Democrat. Clyburn pulled no punches that our Constitution,
which is the basis of his authority, is irrelevant to him. That it's all
about political thuggery.

Which is why we're now talking about race instead of health care.

Thamail Morgan took the kickoff and headed up the field.
He was at the 20 ... 30 ... 40

He had been avoiding, dodging or just simply running through tacklers on the way. Football always had come easily for Morgan. This game was no different. By the time he hit midfield, only open space was ahead of him. The two-time Arkansas all-state selection was headed for a touchdown.

40 ... 30 ... 20

He glanced at the clock and saw the final seconds ticking away. He realized his team, Cave City, was on the way to a victory over Yellville-Summit, comfortably ahead, 34-16. He also realized two other things: This wasn't an ordinary game. And he wasn't the same Thamail Morgan.

When he reached the 2, he stopped. He took a few steps back and took a knee at the 5-yard line.

******
Yelleville-Summit is a co-op program, a combination of two small rural schools in the northern part of Arkansas, near the Missouri border. Combining the schools allows them to field a football team. But even then, the squad is so small that coach Calvin Mallett has to bring extra uniforms in case a lineman gets hurt and someone needs to fill in.

On Sept. 11, before a game with Salem, the schools came together for a pep rally. Afterward, four of the players piled into the bed of Kymball Duffy's truck to head to his house for a pre-game meal.

According to Marion County Sheriff Roger Vickers, this is what happened next.

As Duffy came over a hill, he quickly came upon a brush pile in the road. Duffy swerved into the other side of the road, attempting to avoid it. He lost control of the truck, sending it into a tumble.

The four players in the back - whose names are not being released - were thrown from the vehicle. Miraculously, three of the players in the back suffered only minor injuries. A fourth remains in the hospital but appears to be headed for recovery. Duffy was killed at the scene.

The game with Salem was cancelled.

The town held memorial services for Duffy, then decided they needed to continue the season as part of the healing process.

Before taking on Cave City, the most seriously injured of the four players in the back of the truck, spoke to the team from his hospital bed.

Players from Yellville-Summit and Cave City met at midfield before the game for a moment of remembrance. Players on both teams were a No. 72 decal - Duffy's number - on their helmet.

The game began and Cave City quickly scored. Minutes later, it scored again. And again. All hope for a storybook ending appeared lost.

******
Thamail Morgan is the type of player who can dominate a high school game. On every play.

Last year, playing for Newport in a state playoff game against Heber Springs, he had 15 tackles, a sack and two forced fumbles on defense. He had 145 yards receiving and two touchdowns on offense.

He was coveted by most Division I programs in the South. Then it all changed.

In January, he violated an unspecified school rule that banned him from athletics for a year. Morgan would be eligible for basketball during his senior season but not football.

A year away from football would hurt his chances of gaining a scholarship, so - after considering a number of options - he transferred roughly 40 miles away to Cave City. His scholarship offers did not travel with him.

"Before I screwed up and got myself into trouble, I had some schools like Arkansas, Florida State, Ole Miss, and some other big schools looking at me,'' he said. "Now they are not looking at me, but I have no one to blame but myself for that. Hopefully I can get on someone's radar, even if it is a lower level D-1 or D-2 school."

Cave City coach Jon Bradley was willing to take a chance on Morgan. But only if he met certain conditions. He not only is required to attend extra weight lifting and conditioning exercises, he is required to participate in after-school activities with a local church and meet with a pastor on a regular basis for counseling.

"Everyone makes mistakes," Bradley said. "Thamail made some mistakes that did not allow him to play football anymore at Newport, and we knew what those mistakes were when he came here. I sat him down and talked to him, and let him know I was willing to give him a chance, but there were certain things that he would have to do in order to play for our program.

"So far, he has accomplished, and continues to do everything he has been asked to do, and then some. He has transitioned well and the kids here have accepted him. He is doing well in class, and is a leader on the football field and is a great athlete. We feel fortunate to have him."

******
Bradley said he didn't get word the game with Yellville-Summit was going to be played until Tuesday. He then wondered all week how it would play out.

"I did not know what to expect due to the tragedy,'' he said. "You go into the game wanting to win, but then, you feel bad doing it. When we went up 21-0 in the first quarter, I just can't explain how I felt. The atmosphere was so weird. I just can't explain it."

His players sensed it too.

"They told me on the sidelines that Yellville-Summit was not into it and they did not want to pad stats or run up the score,'' he said. "At that time, I started substituting our kids in and out of the game."

At this point, what the game represented became clear to Bradley.

"Everyone was glad that they were out there playing, getting some sort of return to normalcy,'' he said. "But everyone was going to be glad when it was over."

Yellville-Summit eventually scored in the second quarter, after Cave City had replaced many of its regulars. Bradley did not have a problem with that.

"I talked with Coach Mallet earlier in the week and before the game," Bradley said. "He let me know that if the game was to get out of hand, he simply did not have the players to substitute due to his numbers. So, I knew that when I pulled our guys, that there was a chance they would score."

It was 28-8 at halftime. Then 34-8 at the end of three quarters. Yelleville-Summit scored a second time with little time left to make it 34-16.

They had to kick off, sending a line drive that bounced its way to the back. To Morgan.

"We didn't even think they would kick off," Bradley said. "And we had him (Morgan) all the way back. It was our top return team, but we only have one return team."

What he did next surprised Bradley.

"I did not tell him to kneel down, he did it on his own," Bradley said. "I did not expect them to kick it to him. I figured they would kick away, because he has the ability to break away. I did not know that he was going to do what he did. He broke tackles, ran sideline to sideline, and got to the 2, and just stopped. That is when he backed up and took a knee on the 5-yard line."

******
Morgan did not do this completely on his own.

"We were on the sidelines yelling for him not to score," Bradley said. "Some of the players on the field were saying it, too. But I'm not sure how much he could have heard all of it."

He heard it, Morgan admitted. But he didn't need to.

"Before the game, we as a team talked about being classy,'' he said. "We did not want to come out in a game like this and not show any class.

"As I was running, some of my teammates told me not to score, and I knew that scoring was not the right thing to do."

He was glad to be a part of what happened.

"I just want to thank my teammates for not only being classy all night, but pushing me to be classy as well,'' he said.

The gesture was well received.

"We weren't sure how gloomy they would be before the game,'' Morgan said. "They had gloom, but it was not as bad as we thought. We met before the game, and they told us that they did not want us to feel sorry for them, and they did not want us to back off just because of what happened. They wanted us to play them like we would have if Duffy has still been there with them, so we did.

"After the game, they complimented us, and even thanked us for the way that we played them. They are some really cool cats, and I wish them the best of luck with their healing process and the rest of their season. I hope they make the playoffs."

******
What becomes of the rest of Morgan's football career remains to be seen.

He is getting interest from Arkansas State and Central Arkansas. Bigger schools such as Southern Miss and Texas Tech are starting to re-enter the picture.

At 6-1, 195 with a 4.5 time in the 40, there's no doubt he can play. It's the other issues that are a concern. Bradley is doing his best to make those go away.

"I send things out to places and I tell schools, he's had some off the field issues, but if you're interested, please call me because it's not near as bad as what it sounds,'' Bradley said. "They assume his grades are bad or that he's done something really, really bad. Everyone deserves a second chance. He's doing the right thing."

Bradley said he and Morgan have had many talks, but none of them have been about behavior.

"He's not a discipline problem at all,'' Bradley said. "His grades are getting better. He'll have an opportunity to play. He's too good of an athlete and too good of a young man right now."

Bradley admitted he had concerns at the beginning but they have proven to be unfounded.

"I've never seen anything negative out of the kid,'' he said. "He's the most polite kid. He works hard. He knows he has one shot to get his education.

"He's showing people he's doing the right thing."

That was never more evident as when he kneeled down on the field.

THE COW AND THE ICE CREAM

ONE OF THE BEST EXPLANATIONS
OF WHY OBAMA WON THE ELECTION

From a teacher in the Nashville area

"We are worried about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice Cream"

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year.

The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided we would have an election for a class president.

We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.

We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.

We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.

I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.
I had never seen Olivia's mother.

The day arrived when they were to make their speeches.
Jamie went first.

He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better
place. He ended by promising to do his very best.
Everyone applauded and he sat down.

Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.

Her speech was concise.
She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream."

She sat down.
The class went wild. "Yes! Yes!

We want ice cream."

She surely would say more. She did not have to.

A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream?

She wasn't sure.

Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it.

She didn't know.

The class really didn't care.

All they were thinking about was ice cream.

Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and
52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds.

They want ice cream.

The other 48 percent know

they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess."

Subject: Several reasons why seniors are leaving AARP...

I haven't been a member since they supported taxing Social Security Benefits!!!!!!
This letter was actually sent to A. Barry Rand, Executive Director of
AARP in response to a plea for them to renew a lapsed membership (You
can verify the letter on SNOPES Urban Legends site, search for
"letter to AARP".)

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed
membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you
were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you.
Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real
problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and
have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can
no longer endorse it's abdication of our values. Your letter
specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our
rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up
to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither
an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe
that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to
them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long
term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is
the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior
demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and
give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our
own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The
socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered
by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance
strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the
guiding forces whom we expected to map out our senior years, and leave
your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that
disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing
to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous
other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way
of life or offending our sensibilities.

This presidential administration scares the living daylights out of
us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and blood-stained
heritage, but even more importantly for our children and
grandchildren. Washington has rendered 'Soylent Green' a prophetic
cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in
my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself
listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the
fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents
little more than a balance to the voice of the socialist mindset in
power.

Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic
uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and
nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it
requires.

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all
communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into
our 'house', invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The
President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn
the perp's language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.

I DON'T choose to welcome them.

I DON'T choose to support them.

I DON'T choose to educate them.

I DON'T choose to medicate them, pay for their food or clothing.

American home invaders get arrested.

Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on
American soil that Americans do not get? Why do some immigrants have
to play the game to be welcomed, and others only have to break & enter
to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country,
averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets
more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many
good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded
only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of
touch with mainstream America. Since our poll is conducted without
funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and
will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address
book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will
make a credible statement to you. I am disappointed as hell. I am
scared as hell.

I am MAD as hell, and I'm NOT gonna take it anymore!

The rules murdering our troops
By RALPH PETERS
Last Updated: 2:55 AM, September 24, 2009
Posted: 12:57 AM, September 24, 2009
When enemy action kills our troops, it's unfortunate. When our own moral fecklessness murders those in uniform, it's unforgivable.
In Afghanistan, our leaders are complicit in the death of each soldier, Marine or Navy corpsman who falls because politically correct rules of engagement shield our enemies.
Mission-focused, but morally oblivious, Gen. Stan McChrystal conformed to the Obama Way of War by imposing rules of engagement that could have been concocted by Code Pink:
* Unless our troops in combat are absolutely certain that no civilians are present, they're denied artillery or air support. WHAT?
* If any civilians appear where we meet the Taliban, our troops are to "break contact" -- to retreat. SHAMEFUL
CAN YOU IMAGINE EISENHOWER ISSUING THESE SAME ROE TO OUR TROOPS IN WW2 OR KOREA?
These ROE are a cave-in to the Taliban's shameless propaganda campaign that claimed innocents were massacred every time our aircraft appeared overhead. (Afghan President Mohammed Karzai and our establishment media backed the terrorists.)
The Taliban's goal was to level the playing field -- to deny our troops their technological edge. Our enemies more than succeeded.
And what has our concern for the lives of Taliban sympathizers accomplished? The Taliban now make damned sure that civilians are present whenever they conduct an ambush or operation.
So they attack -- and we quit the fight, lugging our dead and wounded back to base.
We've been through this b.s. before. In Iraq, we wanted to show respect to our enemies, so the generals announced early on that we wouldn't enter mosques. The result? Hundreds of mosques became terrorist safe houses, bomb factories and weapons caches.
Why is this so hard to figure out? We tell our enemies we won't attack X. So they exploit X. Who wouldn't?
It isn't just that war is hell. It's that war must be hell, otherwise why would the enemy ever quit?
This week's rumblings from the White House suggest that we may, at last, see a revised strategy that concentrates on killing our deadliest enemies -- but I'll believe it when I see the rounds go down-range.
Meanwhile, our troops die because our leaders are moral cowards.
Over the decades, political correctness insinuated itself into the ranks of our "Washington player" generals and admirals. We now have four-stars who believe that improving our enemies' self-esteem is a crucial wartime goal.
And the Army published its disastrous Counterinsurgency Manual a few years back -- doctrine written by military intellectuals who, instead of listening to Infantry squad leaders, made a show of consulting "peace advocates" and "humanitarian workers." (Obviously Harvard indocrinated Liberals who never wore a military uniform)
The result was a manual based on a few heavily edited case studies "proving" that the key to success in fighting terrorists is to hand out soccer balls to worm-eaten children. The doctrine ignored the brutal lessons of 3,000 years of history -- because history isn't politically correct (it shows, relentlessly, that the only effective way to fight faith-fueled insurgents is with fire and sword).
The New York Times lavished praise on the manual. What does that tell you? (surrender and appeasement)
A few senior officers continue to push me to "lay off" the Counterinsurgency Manual. Sorry, but I'm more concerned about supporting the youngest private on patrol than I am with the reputation of any general.
As a real general put it a century ago, "The purpose of an Army is to fight." And the purpose of going to war is to win (that dirty word). It's not to sacrifice our own troops to make sad-sack do-gooders back home feel good.
We need to recognize that true morality lies in backing our troops, not in letting them die for whacko Liberal theories.
The next time you read about the death of a soldier or Marine in Afghanistan, don't just blame the Taliban. Blame the generals and politicians who sent them to war, then took away their weapons, (tied their hands and surrendered)
Ralph Peters' new novel is "The War After Armageddon."
IN MY OPINION, IF THESE ROE ARE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE IN THEATER,
I QUESTION WHY THE HECK ARE WE THERE? LET'S STOP WASTING AMERICAN LIVES AND LIMBS
AND GET OUT. EITHER LET LOOSE THE MILITARY POWER OF OUR NATION AND CLEAN OUT THIS
NEST OF TERRORISTS AND CORRUPTION OR LEAVE. LET KARZAI AND HIS CORRUPT GOVT, AND
DRUG SMUGGLING WAR LORD BUDDIES, FIGHT.
STOP WASTING AMERICAN TREASURE AND LIVES TO STOP DRUG INTERDICTION WHICH IS WHAT
WE ARE DOING. WE ARE ONLY FIGHTING THE TALIBAN BECAUSE THEY ARE EXPLOITING THE
DRUG TRADE OF AFGHANISTAN AND WE ARE INTERFERING WITH KARZAI, THE DRUG LORDS
AND THE TALIBAN FROM THEIR SOURCE OF INCOME.

Lou Flores says "Please Read"

No COLA for seniors and Medicare increasing. These moves are tax increases for seniors.

Please read For the first time in history, the Democratic Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment). In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years. However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and to $120.20 for the year
2011. Send this to all seniors and everyone that you know they will be seniors one day. Remind them to not vote for the incumbent senators and congressmen in the 2010 and the 2012 elections.

An excellent post from Iowntheworld.com

I have no idea if Jess Reed is a real person or not.
It’s not the messenger that is important – it’s the message. And it doesn’t get better than this!

The Audacity of Unawareness
Barack Obama, through his spokesman, claimed that he was unaware of the tax day tea parties. But how out of touch is the Community Organizer in Chief, really?
This much.

- He was unaware that he was attending a church (for 20 years) with a racist pastor who hates America.
- He was unaware that he was family friends with and started his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist.
- He was unaware that he had invested in two speculative companies backed by some of his top donors right after taking office in 2005.
- He was unaware that his own aunt was living in the U.S. illegally.
- He was unaware that his own brother lives on pennies a day in a hut in Kenya.
- He was unaware of the AIG bonuses that he and his administration approved and signed into a bill.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Commerce was under investigation in a bribery scandal.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of the Treasury was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be the U.S. Trade Representative was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the woman he nominated to be his Chief Performance Officer was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be #2 at the Environmental Protection Agency was under investigation for mismanaging $25 million in EPA grants.

For the love of God, there are people in comas that are more aware of world affairs than this smooth talking, village idiot.

I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this
national
debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the
table
by explaining many of the problems from the perspective of a doctor.
First off, the government has involved very few of us physicians in the
healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in
favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents
17%
of the American physician workforce.

I have taken care of Medicaid patients for 35 years while representing
the
only pediatric ophthalmology group left in Atlanta, Georgia that accepts
Medicaid. For example, in the past 6 months I have cared for three young
children on Medicaid who had corneal ulcers. This is a potentially
blinding
situation because if the cornea perforates from the infection, almost
surely
blindness will occur. In all three cases the antibiotic needed for the
eradication of the infection was not on the approved Medicaid list.

Each time I was told to fax Medicaid for the approval forms, which I did.

Within 48 hours the form came back to me which was sent in immediately
via
fax, and I was told that I would have my answer in 10 days. Of course by
then each child would have been blind in the eye.
Each time the request came back denied. All three times I personally
provided the antibiotic for each patient which was not on the Medicaid
approved
list. Get the point -- rationing of care.

Over the past 35 years I have cared for over 1000 children born with
congenital cataracts. In older children and in adults the vision is
rehabilitated with an intraocular lens. In newborns we use contact lenses
which are
very expensive. It takes Medicaid over one year to approve a contact lens
post
cataract surgery. By that time a successful anatomical operation is
wasted as the child will be close to blind from a lack of focusing for so
long a
period of time.

Again, extreme rationing. Solution: I have a foundation here in Atlanta
supported 100% by private funds which supplies all of these contact
lenses
for my Medicaid and illegal immigrants children for free. Again, waiting
for the government would be disastrous.

Last week I had a lady bring her child to me. They are Americans but
live
in Sweden, as the father has a job with a big corporation. The child had
the onset of double vision 3 months ago and has been unable to function
normally because of this. They are people of means but are waiting 8
months to
see the ophthalmologist in Sweden. Then if the child needed surgery they
would be put on a 6 month waiting list. She called me and I saw her that
day.
It turned out that the child had accommodative esotropia (crossing of
the eyes treated with glasses that correct for farsightedness) and
responded to glasses within 4 days, so no surgery was needed. Again,
rationing of
care.
Last month I operated on a 70 year old lady with double vision present
for
3 years. She responded quite nicely to her surgery and now is symptom
free. I also operated on a 69 year old judge with vertical double
vision. His
surgery went very well and now he is happy as a lark. I have been told
-- but of course there is no healthcare bill that has been passed yet --
that these 2 people because of their age would have been denied
surgery
and just told to wear a patch over one eye to alleviate the symptoms of
double vision. Obviously cheaper than surgery.
I spent two year in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war and was well
treated by the military. There was tremendous rationing of care and we
were
told specifically what things the military personnel and their dependents
could have and which things they could not have. While I was in Viet Nam,
my
wife Nancy got sick and got essentially no care at the Naval Hospital in

Oakland, California. She went home and went to her family's private
internist in Beverly Hills. While it was expensive, she received an
immediate
work up. Again rationing of care.

For those of you who are over 65, this bill in its present form might
be
lethal for you. People in Britain face rationing of care in that there is
an eight month wait for cataract surgery, 11 for hernia and the same for
disc and total hip The government wants to mimic the British plan. For
those
of you younger, it will still mean restriction of the care that you and
your children receive.
While 99% of physicians went into medicine because of the love of
medicine and the challenge of helping our fellow man, economics are
still
important. My rent goes up 2% each year and the salaries of my employees
go up 2%
each year. Twenty years ago, ophthalmologists were paid $1800 for a
cataract surgery and today $500. This is a 73% decrease in our fees. I
do not
know of many jobs in America that have seen this sort of lowering of fees.
But there is more to the story than just the lower fees. When I came to
Atlanta, there was a well known ophthalmologist that charged $2500 for a
cataract surgery as he felt the was the best. He had a terrific reputation
and
in fact I had my mother's bilateral cataracts operated on by him with a
wonderful result. She is now 94 and has 20/20 vision in both eyes.
People
would pay his $2500 fee.
However, then the government came in and said that any doctor that does
Medicare work cannot accept more than the going rate ( now $500) or he
or
she would be severely fined. This put an end to his charging $2500. The
government said it was illegal to accept more than the government-allowed

rate. What I am driving at is that those of you well off will not be
able to go to the head of the line under this new healthcare plan, just
because you have money, as no physician will be willing to go against
the law
to treat you.

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist and trained for 10 years post-college
to
become a pediatric ophthalmologist (add two years of my service in the
Navy and that comes to 12 years).A neurosurgeon spends 14 years post
-college, and if he or she has to do the military that would be 16
years. I am
not entitled to make what a neurosurgeon makes, but the new plan calls
for
all physicians to make the same amount of payment. I assure you that
medical students will not go into neurosurgery and we will have a
tremendous
shortage of neurosurgeons. Already, the top neurosurgeon at my hospital
who is
in good health and only 52 years old has just quit because he can't stand
working with the government anymore. Forty-nine percent of children
under
the age of 16 in the state of Georgia are on Medicaid, so he felt he
just
could not stand working with the bureaucracy anymore.

We are being lied to about the uninsured. They are getting care. I
operate at least 2 illegal immigrants each month who pay me nothing,
and the
children's hospital at which I operate charges them nothing also. This is
true
not only on Atlanta, but of every community in America.
The bottom line is that I urge all of you to contact your congresswomen
and congressmen and senators to defeat this bill. I promise you that you
will
not like rationing of your own health.
Furthermore, how can you trust a physician that works under these
conditions knowing that he is controlled by the state. I certainly could
not trust
any doctor that would work under these draconian conditions.
One last thing: with this new healthcare plan there will be a tremendous
shortage of physicians. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of
the
current physician work force will quit under this new system. Also it
is
estimated that another 5% shortage will occur because of the decreased
number of men and women wanting to go into medicine. At the present time
the US
government has mandated gender equity in admissions to medical schools
.That means that for the past 15 years that somewhere between 49 and

51% of each entering class are females. This is true of private schools
also, because all private schools receive federal funding.
The average career of a woman in medicine now is only 8-10 years and the
average work week for a female in medicine is only 3-4 days. I have now
trained 35 fellows in pediatric ophthalmology. Hands down the best was
a
female that I trained 4 years ago -- she was head and heels above all

others I have trained. She now practices only 3 days a week.

Subject: Fw: THIS IS TOO FUNNY - Black Robbers

This would have to be one of the best emails I've ever read....

For anyone who didn't see the episode of David Letterman's show where This story was told, Read this: (And remember it's a true story...)

On a recent weekend in Atlantic City , a woman won a bucketful of Quarters at a slot machine.

She took a break from the slots for dinner with her husband in the Hotel dining room.

But first she wanted to stash the Quarters in her room. I'll be right back and we'll go to eat' she told her husband and carried the coin-laden bucket to the elevator.

As she was about to walk into the elevator she noticed two men already aboard.

Both were black. One of them was very tall and had an intimidating figure.

The woman froze. Her first thought was: 'These two are going to rob me.'

Her next thought was: 'Don't be a bigot, they look like perfectly nice Gentlemen.' But racial stereotypes are powerful, and fear immobilized her.

Avoiding eye contact, she turned around stiffly and faced the elevator doors as they closed.

A second passed, and then another second, and then another.

Her fear increased!

The elevator didn't move.

Panic consumed her.

'My God' she thought, I'm trapped and about to be robbed!

Her heart plummeted.

Perspiration poured from every pore.

Then one of the men said, 'Hit the floor.'

Instinct told her to do what they told her.

The bucket of quarters flew upwards as she threw out her arms and Collapsed on the elevator floor. A shower of coins rained down on her.

'Take my money and spare me', she prayed.

More seconds passed.

She heard one of the men say politely, 'Ma'am, if you'll just tell us what floor you're going to, we'll push the button.'

The one who said it had a little trouble getting the words out. He was trying mightily to hold in a belly laugh.

The woman lifted her head and looked up at the two men. They reached down to help her up.

Confused, she struggled to her feet. 'When I told my friend here to hit The floor,' said the average sized one, I meant that he should hit the elevator button for our floor. I didn't mean For you to hit the floor,
ma'am.'

He spoke genially.
He bit his lip.
It was obvious he was having a hard time not laughing.

The woman thought: 'My God, what a spectacle I've made of myself.' She was too humiliated to speak.

The three of them gathered up the strewn quarters and refilled her bucket.

When the elevator arrived at her floor they insisted on walking her to her room..

She seemed a little unsteady on her feet, and they were afraid she might Not make it down the corridor.

At her door they bid her a good evening.

As she slipped into her room she could hear them roaring with laughter as they walked back to the elevator.

The woman brushed herself off. She pulled herself together and went downstairs for dinner with her husband.

The next morning flowers were delivered to her room; a dozen roses.

Attached to EACH rose was a crisp one hundred-dollar bill !!

The card said: 'Thanks for the best laugh we've had in years !

It was signed:

WEB SITE TO GET TO. Http://goooh.Com/ CHECK IT OUT.

This gal about covers it all! ----- Letter of Outrage

MUST READ!!!

This letter was sent to the Wall Street Journal on August 8, 2008 by
Alisa Wilson, Ph.D. Of Beverly Hills, CA. in response to the Wall Street
Journal article titled "Where's The Outrage?" that appeared July 31, 2008.

Really. I can tell you where the outrage is. The outrage is here, in this
middle-aged, well-educated, upper-middle class woman. The outrage is here,
but I have no representation, no voice. The outrage is here, but no one is
listening for who am I?

I am not a billionaire like George Soros that can fund an entire
political movement. I am not a celebrity like Barbra Streisand that can
garner the attention of the press to promote political candidates. I am not
a film maker like Michael Moore or Al Gore that can deliver misleading
movies to the public.

The outrage is here, but unlike those with money or power, I don't know
how to reach those who feel similarly in order to effect change. Why am I
outraged? I am outraged that my country, the United States of America , is
in a state of moral and ethical decline. There is no right or wrong anymore,
just what's fair.

Is it fair that millions of Americans who overreached and borrowed more
than they could afford are now being bailed out by the government and
lending institutions to stave off foreclosure? Why shouldn't these people be
made to pay the consequences for their poor judgment?

When my husband and I purchased our home, we were careful to purchase
only what we could afford. Believe me, there are much larger, much nicer
homes that I would have loved to have purchased. But, taking responsibility
for my behavior and my life, I went with the house that we could afford, not
the house that we could not afford. The notion of personal responsibility
has all but died in our country.

I am outraged, that the country that welcomed my mother as an immigrant
from Hitler's Nazi Germany and required that she and her family learn
English now allows itself to be overrun with illegal immigrants and worse,
caters to those illegal immigrants.

I am outraged that my hard-earned taxes help support those here
illegally. That the Los Angeles Public School District is in such disarray
that I felt it incumbent to send my child to private school, that every time
I go to the ATM, I see "do you want to continue in English or Spanish?",
that every time I call the bank, the phone company, or similar business, I
hear "press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish". WHY? This is America ,
our common language is English and attempts to promote a bi- or
multi-lingual society are sure to fail and to marginalize those who cannot
communicate in English.

I am outraged at our country's weakness in the face of new threats on
American traditions from Muslims. Just this week, Tyson's Food negotiated
with its union to permit Muslims to have Eid-al-Fitr as a holiday instead of
Labor Day. What am I missing? Yes, there is a large Somali Muslim population
working at the Tyson's plant in Tennessee . Tennessee , last I checked, is
still part of the United States . If Muslims want to live and work here
they should be required to live and work by our American Laws and not impose
their will on our long history.

In the same week, Random House announced that they had indefinitely
delayed the publication of The Jewel of Medina, by Sherry Jones, a book
about the life of Mohammed's wife, Aisha due to fear of retribution and
violence by Muslims. When did we become a nation ruled by fear of what other
immigrant groups want? It makes me so sad to see large corporations cave
rather than stand proudly on the principles that built this country.

I am outraged because appeasement has never worked as a political policy,
yet appeasing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is exactly what we are trying to do. An
excellent article, also published recently in the Wall Street Journal, went
through over 20 years of history and why talking with Iran has been and
will continue to be ineffective. Yet talk, with a madman no less, we
continue to do. Have we so lost our moral compass and its ability to detect
evil that we will not go in and destroy Iran 's nuclear program? Would we
rather wait for another Holocaust for the Jews - one which they would be
unlikely to survive?! When does it end?

As if the battle for good and evil isn't enough, now come the
Environmentalists who are so afraid of global warming that they want to put
a Bag tax on grocery bags in California ; to eliminate Mylar balloons; to
establish something as insidious as the recycle police in San Francisco. I
do my share for the environment: I recycle, I use water wisely, I installed
an energy efficient air conditioning unit but when and where does the lunacy
stop? Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, the California economy
is being overrun by illegal immigrants, and the United States of America no
longer knows right from wrong, good from evil.. So what does California do?
Tax grocery bags.

So, America , although I can tell you where the outrage is, this one
middle-aged, well-educated, upper middle class woman is powerless to do
anything about it. I don't even feel like my vote counts because I am so
outnumbered by those who disagree with me.

Alisa Wilson, Ph.D. Beverly Hills, California

USPS New 42-Cent Stamp!!! Celebrates Muslim holiday.

If there is only ONE thing you forward today... let it be this!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of Pan Am Flight 103!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military Barracks in Saudi Arabia !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa !

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001 !

REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!

Now President Obama has directed the United States Postal Service to REMEMBER and HONOR the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a new commemorative 42 Cent First Class Holiday Postage Stamp.

REMEMBER to adamantly & vocally BOYCOTT this stamp, when you are purchasing your stamps at the post office.

All you have to say is "No thank you, I do not want that Muslim Stamp on my letters!"

To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

REMEMBER ~
Pass this along to every Patriotic AMERICAN that you know and let's get the word out !!!

Here is something to chew on...

They (MUSLIMS) don't even believe in Christ, & they're getting their own Christmas stamp! BUT, don't dare to dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property! This is truly UNBELIEVABLE !!!

Obama Attacks U.S.
2009 September 23
tags: Ghaddafi, Hugo Chavez, News, NewsRealblog, Obama, Politics
by David Horowitz

The U.S. President began his speech to an audience that included Ahmadinejad, Qadhafi and Hugo Chavez by explaining, somewhat apologetically, that it is his responsibility to defend the interests of his nation.

But since Barack Obama never opens his mouth without speaking out of both sides of it, you have to wait for the punch line to see what he really means.

Did he point out to the assembled dictators and terrorists that for 9 years America has been leading the war against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq and thereby protecting not only its own interests but those of all people who love their freedom? No. He used the UN podium first to give a partisan political speech continually attacking the Bush Administration and then announced with pride what he had done in only 9 months in office: stop American torturers, close America’s torture chambers on Guantanamo, and leave Iraq (as though we were there for blood and oil). And top it off, under Obama we had joined Qadhafi and Ahmadinejad and Fidel Castro on the UN’s evil “Human Rights Council” which has issued hundreds of condmnations of Israel and none of Hizbollah, Iran and Hamas.

Behold, in other words, “the new United States” — as Fox reported it. And of course following his attacks on the United States and Bush were attacks on Israel, the nation on the front lines of the war against terror. Palestinians, the President said, should stop their “volatile incitements” against Israel, while Israel should recognize the legitimate rights of the Palestinans (as though it doen’t) and “end the occupation that began in 1967″ — the occupation that resulted from an unprovoked Arab war of aggression against Israel followed by an Arab refusal to sign a peace treaty in exchange for Israeli withdrawal.

As an American and a Jew I found the President’s speech an offensive betrayal of America’s interests. The rest of the speech was dangerous hot air about the world cooperating. “The yearning for peace is universal” Obama said. Oh no it is isn’t. Tell that that to Ahmadinejad, Qaddafi, and Chavez.

Well, I think in international politics it’s much better to look for a dialog and find either a small common ground, instead of the old fashioned threats, screams and bombs… Of course, Ahmadinejad, Qaddafi, and Chavez aren’t good examples of democracy, but threatening them and deny any kind of relationship allows only to obtain no results. Obama isn’t perfect, but I believe he’s on the right path. He’s threatened by Al-Qaeda, by pharmaceutical industry, by insurances, by all Bush friends… So, that’s an evidence that there’s something right in what he’s doing.
“War on terrorism” is a contradiction… You become a terrorist at the same moment you use violence to fight something that changes always shape and location, so you become just like the one you want to fight. Instead, one should use all the efforts to understand the causes behind that… No chance for peace and freedom without dialogue.

You write:

“Of course, Ahmadinejad, Qaddafi, and Chavez aren’t good examples of democracy”

Come again ? Not GOOD examples ? Are you kidding me ?

Totalitarian governments that stage mock elections to placate morons like you aren’t democracies AT ALL…

“You become a terrorist at the same moment you use violence to fight something that changes always shape and location, so you become just like the one you want to fight.”

WHAT ?????

By defending ourselves against someone who’s attacking us WE become terrorists ?

SELF DEFENSE IS TERRORISM ???

Now I’ve heard everything…

Thanks folks, good night !

So I come into your home and try to kidnap you kid, and you hit me over the head with a frying pan to stop me, now you are just like me because you fought me. I don’t think so and I don’t think you do either. On 9/11 people were just going about their business when their life was taking or ruined. We are just like them when we fight back, hogwash.

We have tried to reason with these terrorist far to long and if “shalom” remembers how much good it did the British to appease Adolph back in ‘38, maybe he might think twice about his views, but therein lies the problem, he fails to recount events of the past.

Rahm Emmanuel and Obama are one & the same….

Never forget that power is the MOST addictive of all drugs….

And don’t forget who their banker is, George Soros… whose real name was Schwartz.. As a boy of 13, he actually helped the Nazi’s in Hungary for a brief time, with their persecution of the Jews while hiding his real Jewish identity… although to be fair, he was just a child at the time trying to survive…

Are you aware of HOW monstrous a hoax that Gore and his minions are actually pushing ?

Did you know that the IPCC has actually begun to falsify data to support the political agenda of their masters ?

I honestly believe that this may be the subject upon which we could actually bring this administration down, if only we can figure out a way to get a fair public hearing on the matter…

I oppose trying to “bring down” Obama through somethign like impeachment. I think the far better and more practical approach is to nudge him toward the center. Just think about the Clinton era. Trying to impeach Clinton failed. It was a waste of energy and time. But trying to nudge Clinton to the center (like on Welfare reform for example) was effective. The same can and should be done with Obama.

David;

How are you going to nudge him towards center when he ignores the voices of half of America, and calls them fruitcakes, racists, and traitors… This guy is far past the point of rehabilitation.. He’s trying to bring down America so he can rebuild it in his image..

If that isn’t clear by now, then someone’s being painfully naive… and risking great harm to the country.

We’re in the middle of a flat out assault against our Constitution, and you want to nudge him… ???

The only direction in which this traitor should be nudged is into a federal penitentiary.

Swemson, my friend you discredit yourself with your hyperbole:

“fruitcakes, racists, and traitors”

When has Obama ever called any of his opponents any such thing?

Nudged into a prison cell? FOR WHAT? What CRIME has he committed? Pushing bad political ideas isn’t a crime.

Trying to nudge Obama toward the center is what the GOP and conservatives have been doing — and it’s been working. Hey, where’d that “public option” go?

Don’t go off the deep end, my friend.

What’s your alternative strategy?

Hopefully they’ll choose to speak up here…”

Listen to yourself. I think I know my colleagues better than you do Swemson. I recruited most of them myself and know their views better than you do. I think I’d know if they thought Obama was a “traitor” who had committed treason and other crimes and deserved to be thrown in jail. Further I find your suggestion that they and myself — including David Horowitz — do not have “the stones” to be outspoken and politically incorrect a tad offensive. You think we’re holding back what our true views are? Do you really think that little of us?

David… chill pal…

I wasn’t referring to you, David H, or ANY of your fine group of bloggers…

I was talking ONLY about the members, like me, who read what you guys write & then discuss it here…

Yes.. I think a lot more of US, think Obama is a traitor than you might think…

And as much as I like you, I’m beginning to think that you’re far too “Moderate” if that’s the right word, to truly understand HOW ugly, evil and dangerous what’s going on in our great country really is right now… Maybe it’s because I’m older than you, & I have no doubt that the fact that once wore the Marine Corps uniform has played a part in moulding my thoughts & attitude.. but we clealy see things from a different angle…

Maybe I am off the deep end on the right… could be… but I have to tell you that as much as I hope I’m wrong, I think that this country is in such deep doo doo right now, that it’s almost inevitable that we’re going to see the beginning of another violent American revolution in the very near future… I’m going to send you a photo that supports my prediction by eMail right after posting this… put it up with this comment if you wish… It’s a common sight around the area where I live…

I’ve been seeing some very encouraging signs lately that America is waking up and smelling what Obama and his merry band of marxist czars & advisors are shoveling… but on the other hand I think that most of the rational voices on the right are underestimating the opposition by a big factor…

Todays vote in the senate was an excellent indicator that the far left knows they’re in trouble and is beginning a “SURGE” against our freedom and liberties as we speak…

They’re actively creating one crisis after another so they’ll have an excuse to launch a major blitzkreig in the VERY near future… One of the next big ones is going to be the food shortages resulting from Obama and his enviro-fascist gang shutting off the flow of water to California’s central valley… TO PROTECT THE DELTA SMELT !

The green freaks always seem to forget that one of the things that happens naturally on this planet on a daily basis, is that some creatures become EXTINCT !

And I am definitely hoping to see all of these left wing liars, thieves and thugs go extinct themselves…..

Oscar Levant was one of the all time great insult artists… and he came to mind the other day when a fellow I play poker with asked me what I thought of Obama… I immediately remembered Oscar & said:

“He should inherit a hotel and be found dead in every room… that’s what I wish on him !”

David;

When I said: “he ignores the voices of half of America, and calls them fruitcakes, racists, and traitors… ” I was referring to the central axis of Obama, Reid, Pelosi, liars like Barney Frank, John Conyers, the czars, Rahm Emmanuel, Axelrod, etc…etc.. And frankly I have no problem including Chris Matthews, Olberman, Letterman, Maher & the rest of that crowd in with them as well…

“Nudged into a prison cell? FOR WHAT? What CRIME has he committed?”

Treason , subversion of the Constitution, Racketeering (ACORN), grand larceny (Chrysler / GM stock given to unions etc..) Fraud (using public funds to promote his ideology) Election fraud, and several more I’m sure…. Oh, and did I mention TREASON…

Yes David, if we were living in a rational world I should think his crimes against America would be deserving the most harsh punishment that you can imagine….

This POS has lied to the American public almost every single time that he’s opened his mouth….. and YES I believe that the covert dismantling of our country has been his intention all along….

He’s providing aid and comfort to our enemies by ordering the State Department to spend $20MM of public funds to help Palestinians, many if not most of whom are members of Hamas, to emigrate to the USA with all expenses, welfare, healthcare, living expenses etc, courtesy of the US Taxpayers.

He’s betraying Israel, perhaps our most valuable ally we have.

He’s trying to subvert the arts (NEA) to function as a propaganda aid to his Marxist ambitions…

He’s perpetrating a fraud against the entire country with Cap & Tax,

He’s trying to screw our seniors who paid into Medicare, to steal 300 billion or more from their benefits..

He’s trying to screw veterans by reducing their health care benefits which they MOST DEFINITELY paid for…

Common David…

Why don’t you ask Newsreel’s members if they think that Obama is just “Pushing bad political ideas”……

Obama is not responsible for the rhetoric of Olbermann. If they’re not working for Obama then you can’t attack him through their words. The statement you made was factually wrong. You’re upset by the policies that he’s pushing so you got a little carried away.

I think NewsReal’s bloggers have been quite clear in their judgments and criticisms of Obama. Show me where one of them has said that Obama has committed treason or should be jailed. You’ll have a hard time finding many of them whose expressed views line up with your hyperbole. Nowhere in any of Horowitz’s writings have I seen him use such language.

Obama is pushing bad political ideas. He’s not committing treason or crimes. The latter is just what you’re afraid he’s doing.

Swemson,

Julie speaking up here.

Is President Obama a traitor? No, he says things that irritate me. Fortunately he’s irritating a lot of people on both sides.

We won’t really know how enthusiastic the American people are in supporting President Obama’s agenda (now that it has been fully revealed) until Nov 2010. We still have lots of work to do; distracting ourselves with traitor/impeachment rhetoric is just that; a distraction that the Left wants.

shalom, old buddy, Obama is one them “man-made disasters” that Ms Napolitano warned us about. It’s not a matter to believe or not… Just observe the facts: if the old, armed and hard approach was the right one, after so many years and so many efforts, Middle East, and our Israel, would be a holiday place with great perspectives. The fact that instead the area is still a hot one, means – in my opinion – that maybe it’s time to change strategy and try something else. I believe that the main desire of all the people living in the area is to live in peace each other, in spite of their government heads. Believe me, I understand the reasons all the people is writing here, but I don’t think fear and hate will help us to fight an enemy that endlessly changes and hides…

WTF! I feel that it is my Military duty to report fraud, waste and abuse only I think that D. Horowitz is a “glenn beck-styled joke.” Isreal is fine and is in no real danger as a nation or a people. I don’t have any privilaged info and nor does Horowitz for that matter. What about the recent IAEA report-findings regard Iran and Isreal? Bush (who I voted for twice)never fully resourced the war and lot of us (soldiers)died. Enough already! Obama is on the right path. WOW? Seriously? Isreal is in no danger? Sir, respectfully, because you were a soldier does not mean you are an expert on middle east relations. Are you a general officer or part of central command privy to data that no one else can see that would counter any of the overtly obvious threats to Isreal? If wearing one’s countries uniform is the only preface to not being a punk, then you have logically excluded our fearless leader. As for your Ad Hominem, please provide some empirical data to support these claims.

Swemson, the best example that I think of is the fear that those students from Woods Hole that went to the Polar ice cap to update the monitoring equipment and perform enviromental analysis. How many days did they sit around discussing the fact that the ice monitoring equipment callibrations were significantly off and that there was no ice loss. They were undoubtedly frightened and hesitent to report their findings. The fear and intimidation that is forced upon us by the Cap and Trade, the sky is falling politicians is taking a tole. Well, to answer the question, they waited 6 days to report the findings and did it first through the safety of an external resource before calling the University. We live in insane times and it is at times difficult to weed through the web of lies. Azuma, it is ISRAEL.And they own the land from the Nile to Eyphraetes River. The term “Palestinian” is a political confabulation. Even the Koran states this. It is interesting that this point is lost in the anti-Jew agression. Also, calling D.Horowitz a ” pundit” are fighting words. Put up or shut up. The Huff n’Puff would fit your taste just fine. As a previous S.D.S. activist, I appreciate Mr. Horowitz for his insight, wisdom and wit. As to Mr. Obama, wisdom is part of his core being and it is that very fact that makes him and his Marxist beliefs very dangerous.

Judy;

Al Gore shows photos & videos of the polar ice in the summer, when it ALWAYS melts, and falls apart around the edges… All you have to do is compare satellite photos taken during the winter to see what I mean..

The Ice is just ONE part of his lies… A large portion of their temperature measurement devices are unreliable… I’ve seen photos of many that are located next to commercial A/C equipment that spews hot air on them… Many that were originally placed in rural environments are now surrounded by concrete that absorbs the heat of the sun & radiates it back all night. It’s called the “heat island effect”, and everybody knows about it… On top of all of that, they actually falsify the data even more to make it fit their bogus computer models and predictions.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST CASE OF SCIENTIFIC FRAUD IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND… !

They show a photo of a polar bear floating on a piece of ice & claim that it proves that the polar bears are going extinct… HA !
The polar bear population has been growing for years… we have more polar bears now than we’ve had in MANY years…

But the biggest part of the lie is when they tell us that CO2 is a POLLUTANT that’s destroying the earth… CO2 is PLANT FOOD. It’s such a minor greenhouse that, that the concentration of MAN-MADE CO2 in the atmosphere is measured in parts per million (PPM)… CO2 represents only 4/10th of 1% of the earth’s atmosphere. Of that entire amount, 770 GT (Giga Tons) less than half of 1% (27GT) is caused by man, and not all of that comes from our use of fossil fuels. Last I heard is that man made CO2 has contributed a rise in CO2 over the last 100 years or so of about 25 to 30 PPM.

Is it a greenhouse gas.. of course it is, but any effects that large CO2 concentrations can have on our climate are so negligible as to be statistically insignificant. Our average temperatures are influenced primarily by solar activity. In the last 1,000 years we’ve had centuries in which our average temps were 4 degrees above the thousand year median… and centuries in which our average temps were 3-4 degrees below the thousand year median….

We’re currently roughly 6/10ths of ONE degree above the thousand year median….

SO WHERE THE HELL IS THE BLOODY CRISIS ????

Sorry Judy: WISDOM IS NOT A PART OF AMERICAN VOTERS CORE.
THEY PUT AN ENEMY IN POWER FOR HATE TOWARD A MAN WHO SACRIFICED HIS HONOR AND CREDIBILITY TO SAVE OUR RIGHT TO FREEDOM.

AND WHAT EVER HAPPENS TO ISRAEL, GIVE CREDIT TO THE 80% OF JEWS WHO DISHONORED THEIR FAITH BY VOTING BY A FUNDAMENTALIST MUSLIN FOR PRESIDENT.

Swemson, I thought that he actually initially said “control”. Now, that I would like to see. He could use those finger-pointing gestures to shoo away the rain, tornados, and other destructive forces. Who can??? “The candy man can” (From the outrageously funny video, Obama Man Can). I definitely need to stop and get lunch, I am rambling on.

Obama continues to make a BIG REAR END out of himself-this is nothing new. I can’t stand to listen to him for more than a few seconds. His agenda is the doctrine of demons.

Swemson, I hope to never run into Obama. The climate “change” fraud is like the game of telephone that we played as kids. You whisper something into the ear of the kid next to you and in turn he/she pasess it to the next kid and so on. By the time it gets back to the original kid it has no resemblance to the original message. As this fraud of climate change urgency is reaching fevered pitch, there is still no scientific evidence to back the findings of Gore’s movie, or the theories presented by “scientists”. After visiting with a cousin last summer (he is the retired director of communication of NASA/Houston/22 years), the topic of global warming and atmospheric trapping of CO2 was a heated topic with others that firmly believe in the theory without evidence. He said that the evidence of human causation will never be there. He explained that one of greatest enemies of communications in the space program is the sun. The sun apparently goes through cycles like everything else, has flares, spots, different radiation emmisions and that the earth temperatures are actually cooler. Ice does melt and then reforms.Ocean salinety changes. In other words, as he put it “the earth is in constant flux”, and that” those that seek to isolate a earth period are fools”.The earth and climate study are a large part of the NASA budget, and subject to the whim of those that authorize the funds. But, he said “chill out” nothing can change. Polution is a different matter, so he did suggest that you pick up after yourself.Swemson, we are in deep trouble and need to fight this fictitous pseudo-science and need to constantly and relentlessly refute false science and reveal the true purpose.

Judy, just to clarify a few small details in what you wrote:

There was some evidence to support the AGW theory in the late 1970’s, 80’s. From 1975 to 1998, our temperatures did rise pretty quickly. Of course if you looked at the rise in relation to past climate history, it wasn’t that drastic, or even that big of a rise, but during those years, the rate of rise did coincide with a similar rate of rise of man-made CO2… So it wasn’t unusual that some observers credited the rise on the increase of CO2… Of course they got their entire theory ass backwards, as several scientists have proved beyond a doubt that the increasing temperature actually created the increase in atmospheric CO2, and not the other way around as many scientists believed.

Before the AGW theory had been debunked, England got into a bit of a mess because the coal miners there were on strike, so, without really understanding the science of this at all, Maggie Thatcher jumped on the idea that coal emissions were causing climate change as a political weapon to fight the miners with, in essence threatening that a big move towards alternative clean fuels would scare them into submission…

It wasn’t Thatcher’s intention of course, to start the present hysteria, but she WAS the first well-known politician to advocate the theory…

Humans however, throughout history, have always greeted climate change as being catastrophic. At first they thought of it as god punishing us for our sins… but we never really got over that, in large part due to the media.. Why the media ? Because catastrophes sell newspapers !

This current “crisis” is the 4th to take place in the last hundred years alone. The last one ended in 1975, after 35 years of cooling which everyone was afraid was heralding the onset of another ice age. The following actual article from Newsweek 39 years ago tells the story..

http://denisdutton.com/newsweek_coolingworld.pdf

Your cousin is absolutely right that man is incapable of having any significant impact on our climate, and yes, pollution is indeed a serious problem… But I can assure you that if we (all govts combined) spent half of the money ($50 Billion) that we’ve pissed away on trying to find a way to change our climate on cleaning up pollution, and finding ways to clean up our emissions, the world we’re living in would be far cleaner….. And the only facts about climate that we must all learn to understand are that warming isn’t to be feared… warming is GOOD.. the earth thrives during warm periods, the CO2 that comes with it causes all vegetation and forests to grow like crazy, and…… that the only constant about climate, is that it is ALWAYS changing…

The last component of this HOAX, however, that really pisses me off the most, and that ties together all the things that I’ve been saying about the far left intentionally trying to tear our country down, is the fact that the idea that we’re quickly running out of natural resources is complete and total rubbish.

In the last several years we have discovered such huge oil & gas reserves in our territorial waters that geologists are beginning to suspect that we have BIGGER oil reserves than Saudi Arabia. And as drilling techniques get more sophisticated, we’ll be able to access far more than we even know about today…. The Alaskan reserves in Anwar are at least 10 times bigger than the radical environmentalists say they are. In many respects, they’ve taken over from the American Communist Party in the way they try to manipulate and control the country…

This CRIMINAL government of ours is actually letting the Chinese drill in the Gulf of Mexico (and I’m sure they’re getting something under the table for that) while refusing to let Americans drill to supply our own domestic needs. Our known reserves on the continental shelf on BOTH coasts are almost impossible to even measure, and nobody is even counting how much oil we have in shale in the north central states & Canada. Maybe now that Ted Kennedy is dead, we’ll be allowed to drill off the coast of Cape Cod…. (PS: Oil rigs actually stimulate the growth of fisheries)

America has sufficient oil reserves to cover 100% of our own needs for the next hundred years or more. We could easily solve our economic problems by paying China in oil for all of the stuff we buy from them… We have so much, that we could afford to undercut our enemies, Venezuela, the Arab oil Sheiks, as well as the Russian thugs, who are now using their oil riches to expand their sphere of influence.. The non-oil producing countries, many of whom are not that crazy about of America, would forget their hatred & jealousy in a NY minute, as soon as we start offering them the oil they need at the best prices…. We could easily be restored to the status of the wealthiest nation on earth, by a far bigger margin than we ever were before.

The licensing fees that the government could receive from the production companies that drill for it would be enough to pay off our national debt, and ALL of the expenses of running the country for at least the next 50 years or so, thereby eliminating all taxes…

It’s all possible, if only we could clean out the sewer on the Potomac.

I may be off a hair on some of the details, but all of what I’ve said above is true. We have it all here, all we need is a rational and honest government that works for US and not for themselves, and every single problem that we’re facing goes away in a relatively short number of years…

The only thing standing in our way, is the far left elements in our own corrupt government…

We need a new constitutional convention where we can strengthen the few weak spots in our Constitution, redefine what the govt can and cannot do in strong, clear and specific terms, and set up an electoral system with serious term limits that will prevent the possibility of this kind of corruption from ever happening again…

Swemson, I agree. Bart gave a long synopsis of essentially the same data only with more analysis that was mind-numbing. But, he stated that the concerns with CO2 is a fallacy since like the human body needs the “CO2-drive” to trigger respiration, the earth functions on CO2 in much the same way. Global warming in his analysis was infinately preferable to cooling as the oceans to our bodies are dependent upon heat to survive. Cooling inhibits all mechanisms of life. What troubles me the most is how this has caught fire without scientific data. I don’t mean photos that are contrived. I mean, that the world is repleat with scientists that are able to just that. Study. Julis is right when she says that no one wants to bite the hand that doles out the grants. David is right when he uses the word “nudge”. The name of a book by Cass Sunstein is “Nudge” and it represents moving a population toward a goal that they do not desire. You “nudge” them along. However, I do believe that along with nudging Obama, we should not give up on the in your face tactic so that our dissention becomes ignored. We must us the tactics of the Progressives and take it straight out of their playbook. This is why they are so furious with the tea-parties and the march on Washington. Never in their wildest nightmare did they expect dissent on that scale. By this constant pounding we can make it a issue not to be ignored and hopefully nudge Obama to a more moderate stand. The next year is going to be very interesting. Stand strong in the truth.

Why do we still complain about the unamerican behaviour of Barak Obama?
Didn’t the American voters knew what to expect all along? Didn’t Mr Horowitz, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and many others warned for years what a menace he was for the safety of this nation?
Mr. Obama didn’t betray the confidence of the people; It was the people who voted for him who betrayed THE NATION!!

“Since the year 2000, thousands of super, high-tech sensor buoys, referred to as ARGO’s (Array for Real-Time Geostrophic Oceanography) have been deployed world wide in oceans deep–in the service of “global warming research”–. Every ten days they rise to the surface, “gathering data about each strata of seawater they pass through”, explains the Vancouver Sun. Excited researchers hailed the ARGO buoys as the most sophisticated data collectors ever—that is, until the data started coming in. Now, scientists are busy spinning the results, because the little bouys are not giving them the results they want to hear. Since 2004, the oceans aren’t warming, they are actually cooling. Josh Willis of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory sniffed that the recorded temperature drop was “not anything really significant”. He explained: “It may be that we are in a period of less rapid warming”??? And you man-made global warming hoaxers are in a period of less rapid credibility. Ironically, it wasn’t long after I first read this report that someone on PBS was interviewing a marine biologist, asking him why a lot of fish (I think they were sharks, I might be wrong about that) were coming so close to the shores in a certain area. He exclaimed, “it’s because of global warming”. Apparently, he hasn’t caught up with the data yet. In the words of the professor of Economics at the University of Georgia who wrote an article entitled, “The US Tax System Explained With Beer”, (you really should try to locate that article), “to those who understand, no explanation is needed—to those who don’t, no explantion is possible”. That’s all I have to say.

There was actually an article in the NY Times a few months back that claimed that the summer’s record low temperatures were caused by……

Are you ready sports fans….

Yup.. they were caused by Global Warming !!!

They were all reaching that ocean levels were going to rise so much that they would wipe out most waterfront communities…

The only thing that’s rising that much is the bulls*~t level in Washington DC…

Swemson,
“And as much as I like you, I’m beginning to think that you’re far too “Moderate” if that’s the right word, to truly understand HOW ugly, evil and dangerous what’s going on in our great country really is right now…”

Thank you my friend. I do have centrist and moderate tendencies which I won’t apologize for. On my conservative chessboard analogy I consider myself a Knight. You would be a Rook. Therefore it’s your responsibility for you to push me when I’m not going far enough and for me to calm you down when you go too far.

“but we clealy see things from a different angle…”

This is a good thing. Maybe if we see things from different angles we’ll get a more complete, accurate picture. Multiple angles are necessary.

“I was talking ONLY about the members, like me, who read what you guys write & then discuss it here…

Yes.. I think a lot more of US, think Obama is a traitor than you might think…”

Thinking doesn’t make it so. And the fact that large numbers of people think something doesn’t make it true. Here’s a comparison you’ll appreciate: last time I saw the stats majorities in this country believed in creationism and angels. So people can think what they want. It doesn’t mean that the map they’ve drawn in their head is an accurate representation of the territory.
