Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Lee is back ... thx Tom Q!

Lee is back....  Would you believe that Lee Iacocca is 94 years old and is still KICKIN' butt? Check out his latest rant.Just as true today as it was when his book first came out.He was, and still is, a brilliant man.Often we need to be reminded of Iacocca's words, Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He's now 94 years old and has a new book, 'Where Have All The Leaders Gone?'.

Lee Iacocca Says:

"Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage with this so called president?
We should be screaming bloody murder!

We've got a gang of tax cheating clueless leftists trying to steer our ship of state right over a cliff,  we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even run a ridiculous cash-for-clunkers program without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers' money, much less build a hybrid car.

But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'trust me, the economy is getting better..

'Better' ?

What the Hell ! You've got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned Titanic'.  I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the Democrats out, along with Obama!'
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have.  But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs.  While we're fiddling in Afghanistan, Iran is completing their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to do.

The liberal press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions.
That's not the promise of the 'America' my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for.
I've had enough. How about you?
I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged.

This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest 'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being the first.)

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory.  Or send someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself.  It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.
On September 11, 2001 , we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history.  We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes.
-We're immersed in a bloody war now with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving, but our soldiers are dying daily -We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and it's getting worse every day!
-We've lost the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.
-This country has the largest oil reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because the politicians have been bought by the tree-hugging environmentalists.
-Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers' union.
-Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegals amnesty and free healthcare.
-The middle class is being squeezed to death every day.

These are times that cry out for leadership.  But when you look around, you've got to ask: Where have all the leaders gone?  Where are the curious, creative communicators?  Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense?

I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?
We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.
Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will make it better for them.  Now, that's just crazy. Deal with life.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing.
Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, look what Obama did about it.
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debt, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening.

But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress.
We didn't elect you to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state.

What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call them a name?  Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change?    Had Enough?    Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here.

I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope - I believe in America...In my lifetime, I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest moments.  I've also experienced some of our worst crises:
The 'Great Depression,' World War II,' 'the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years since 9/11.

Make your own contribution by sending this to everyone you know and care about.  For, it is your country, folks, and it's your future and your progeny.
My / Our future is at stake!

21 reasons to enjoy old age ...Wonderful reasoning Tom Q! Thanks!

21 Rules For A Good Old Age....( Great advice!)

1.  It's time to use the money you saved up.   Use it and enjoy it.   Don't just keep it for those who may have no notion of the sacrifices you made to get it.   Remember there is nothing more dangerous than a son or daughter-in-law with big ideas for your hard earned capital.   Enjoy the present moment.   The sand in the clock may run out at any moment.

2.  Stop worrying about the financial situation of your children and grandchildren. You've taken care of them for many years, and you've taught them what you could.  You gave them an education, food, shelter and support.  The responsibility is now theirs to earn their way.

3.  Keep a healthy life with moderate exercise (like walking every day), eat well and get your sleep.   It's easy to become sick, and it gets harder to remain healthy.   Keep in touch with your doctor, get tested even when you're feeling well.   Stay informed.

4.  Always buy the best, most beautiful items for your significant other.   The key goal is to enjoy your money with your partner.   One day one of you will miss the other, and the money will not provide any comfort then.   Enjoy it together.

5.  Don't stress over the little things.   You've already overcome so much in your life.  You have good memories and bad ones, but the important thing is the present.   Don't let the past drag you down or the future frighten you.

6.  Regardless of age, always keep love alive.   Love your partner, love life, love your family, love your neighbor, your surroundings, your country.   We are never old as long as we have intelligence and affection.

7.  Be proud, both inside and out.   Don't stop going to your hair salon or barber, do your nails, go to the dermatologist and the dentist, keep your perfumes and creams well stocked.   When you are well-maintained on the outside, it seeps in, making you feel proud and strong.

8.  Don't lose sight of fashion trends for your age, but keep your own sense of style. There's nothing sillier than an older person trying to wear the current fashion among youngsters.   You've developed your own sense of what looks good on you - keep it and be proud of it.   It's part of who you are.

9.  Read newspapers, watch the news.   Go online and read what people are saying.  Make sure you have an active email account and try to use some of those social networks.  You'll be surprised which old friends you'll meet.   Keeping in touch with what is going on and with the people you know is important at any age.

10.  Respect the younger generation and their opinions.   They may not have the same viewpoints as ours, but they are the future and will take the world in their direction.    Give advice, not criticism, and try to remind them of yesterday's wisdom that still applies today.

11.  Never use the phrase: "In my time".  Your time is now.   As long as you're alive, you are part of this time.   You have been younger, but you are still you now, having fun and enjoying life.

12.  Some people embrace their golden years, while others become bitter and surly.   Life is too short to waste your days in the latter mode.   Spend your time with positive, cheerful people, it'll rub off  on you and your days will seem that much better.   Spending your time with bitter people will make you older and harder to be around.

13.  Do not surrender to the temptation of living with your children or grandchildren (if you have a financial choice, that is).   Sure, being surrounded by family sounds great, but we all need our privacy.   They need theirs and you need yours.   If you've lost your partner (our deepest condolences), then find a person to move in with you and help out only if you feel you really need the help or do not want to live alone.

14.  Don't abandon your hobbies.   If you don't have any, make new ones.   You  can travel, hike, cook, read, dance.   You can adopt a cat or a dog, grow a garden, play cards, checkers, chess dominoes, golf.   You can paint, volunteer at an NGO or collect certain items.   Find something you like and spend some real time having fun with it.

15.  Even if you don't feel like it, try to accept invitations.   Baptisms, graduations, birthdays, weddings, conferences.   Try to go.   Get out of the house, meet people you haven't seen in a while, experience something new (or something old).   But don't get upset when you're not invited.   Some events are limited by resources, and not everyone can be hosted.   The important thing is to leave the house from time to time.   Go to museums, go walk through a field.   Get out there.

16.  Be a conversationalist.   Talk less and listen more.   Some people go on and on about the past, not caring if their listeners are really interested.  That's a great way of reducing the desire to speak with you.  Listen first and answer questions, but don't go off into long stories unless asked to.  Speak in courteous tones and try not to complain or criticize too much unless you really need to.  Try to accept situations as they are. Everyone is going through the same things, and people have a low tolerance for hearing complaints.   Always find some good things to say a well.

17.  Pain and discomfort go hand in hand with getting older.   Try not to dwell on them but accept them as a part of the cycle of life we're all going through.  Try to minimize them in your mind.  They are not who you are, they are something that life added to you If they become your entire focus, you lose sight of the person you used to be.

18.  If you've been offended by others, forgive them.   If you've offended someone - apologize.   Don't drag resentment around with you.   It will make you sad and bitter.  It doesn't matter who was right.   Someone once said, "Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die."  Don't take that poison.   Forgive and move on with your life.

19.  If you have a strong belief, savor it.   But don't waste your time trying to convince others.  They will make their own choices no matter what you tell them, and it will only bring you frustration.   Live your faith and set an example.   Live true to your beliefs and let that memory sway them.

20.  Laugh.  Laugh A LOT.  Laugh at everything.   Remember, you are one of the lucky ones.  You managed to have a life, a long one.   Many never get to this age, never get to experience a full life.   But you did. So what's not to laugh about?   Find the humor in your situation.

  21.  Take no notice of what others say about you and even less  of what they might be thinking.   They'll do it anyway, and you should have pride in yourself and what you've achieved.   Let  them talk and don't worry.   They have no idea about your history, your memories and the life you've lived so far.   There's still much to be written, so get busy writing and don't waste time thinking about what others might think.   Now is the time to be free, at peace and as happy as you can be!

AND REMEMBER: Life is too short to drink cheap wine...!!!

ALL OF A SUDDEN MESSAGE FROM A CONCERNED CITIZEN:
"Has everyone lost their ability to see what is happening in the USA? Think America!  Before Obama, there was virtually no visible presence of Islam in America.
All of a sudden, Islam is taught in schools. All of a sudden, we must allow prayer rugs everywhere and allow for Islamic prayer in schools and businesses.
All of a sudden, we must stop serving pork in public places and institutions.
All of a sudden, we are inundated with law suits by Muslims who are offended by America. (For God's sake, they are IN America)
All of a sudden, we must allow burkas to be worn everywhere even though you have no idea who is covered up under them.
All of a sudden, Muslim training compounds are popping up throughout the USA.
All of a sudden, Muslims are suing employers for being expected to do their jobs.
All of a sudden, all of our aircraft carriers are recalled for maintenance by Obama rendering the Atlantic unsupported.
All of a sudden, our troops are withdrawn from the middle east.
All of a sudden, there is no money for American poor, disabled veterans, jobless Americans, hungry Americans, or displaced Americans, but there is endless money for Obama's refugee programs.
All of a sudden, Obama fills the Federal Government with Muslims in key positions.
All of a sudden, there is an ammunition shortage in the USA.
All of a sudden, Americans are threatened by the Federal government for complaining about Muslims.
All of a sudden, the most important thing for Obama to do is disarm American Citizens.
Now, why is it so important for Obama to disarm America? Why? Because a disarmed country is ripe for takeover by the Muslim Army that Obama has imported into the United States.
Nikita Krueschev, the Russian Dictator who visited the USA in the 1950s said the USA could never be occupied by any army because of it's citizen Army.
Obama knows this fact and is doing everything within his power to disarm our Citizen Army.
If Obama can't do it legally, he will abuse his power and take every gun from Americans because he knows he must do that to turn the USA over to Islam.
Be wary and watchful. Obama's actions speak far beyond his words. Obama won't even say the words "Islamic Terrorist", WHY?"..
PLEASE POST ON YOUR PAGES AND PASS THIS MESSAGE TO FRIENDS AND FAMILIES. GOD BLESS AMERICA. LET'S SEE WHAT WE ARE TRULY MADE OF.
