Welcome
Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.
For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Jack Plymale and Dave Cropper
Jack Plymale and Dave Cropper-
Jack and Dave were friends from at least four to seven years before me. They were of Gib Lakeman's vintage and Gib and I shared a lot of our lives here in Westerville until a few years ago, maybe ten, when Gib died. Clark Rapalee had been a student at Otterbein with Gib. Rapp has also passed on. Each of those older guys have been my mentors. I can't, therefore, be all bad- according to me.
Dave Cropper was a mainstay of American Legion Post 23 and I often saw and spoke with him as he was leading the catering for annual New Boston reunions. My wife, Jeanette Weddington Kegley, is a 1948 New Boston grad.Dave led me to Mick Kornhoff, Ray's son, for the interview of him for my book "Softball It Don' Matta". Dave is a gentleman as he always has been to so many of us. I normally post Jack's messages on my blog as they keep us up on the activities of his close friends from P'Town. Long live these cronies of Mr. Plymale!
I pray often for our mutual friend, Stephen "Doc" Yeagle as I invite all of you to do in these, apparently and sadly, his last days. Doc was such an excellent part of the Trojan football teams of the 1943-1946 era. Hearing Jim Fout and Jack tell of how Miss DuPuy loved gentleman Stephen Yeagle and could not believe that he was so ferocious on the football field, made me remember Miss DuPuy, PHS' great math teacher, as so many of us have in the past. Doc continued his all out football at the University of Cincinnati and is also fondly remembered and respected there.
Jack's continuing Dave Cropper comments:
I've been married 57 years but my wife and I have been separated over 30 of those. I was her second shot. She missed both times., I decided I wasn't any smarter now than I was when I married her so there was a great possibility I would make the same mistake the second time.hence, no divorce. Can't imagine why Dave would have a problem, he always seemed so agreeable. He and Fout are good friends too.

Jack, I never understand the Facebook methods. Often I try unsuccessfully to add somebody. Dave is an excellent human being. I can't understand the two women divorcing him, but who truly understands women? I'm just lucky my gorgeous wife has stuck with me for 59 1/2 years. Go figure!

Sam received your request about adding Dave Cropper as a friend on facebook. I'd add Dave Cropper as a friend anywhere, anytime anyone would let me. I'd just be glad he would let me do that. He has been a friend for as long as I can remember and have been overjoyed to hear that he is still among us.. If he dies, I'll be the ugliest living guy from Portsmouth. All joking aside. I haven't known many guys as nice as Dave. None nicer. Couldn't get him added on facebook though. I'll keep trying. Thanks Sam.
