Darkest Hour Movie is great! Churchill's courage was tremendous!
Jeanie and I saw it at Marcus Crossroads Worthington at 2 today. $5 all day. I estimate the theatre was at least 3/4 full. The man represented the will of the indomitable British Citizens, but had great opposition from the Socialist politicians of Chamberlain who wanted to have peace with Adolph Hitler.
I had read of Churchill that he was an incorrigible child who was sent to military school for discipline. It reminds me of my recent telephone conversation with Jerry Spence (PHS 51). He told me that he and Tom Wilson (PhS 55) used to play with their toy soldiers as they were neighbors in P'Town. Winston did that and was an excellent tactician. He instigated the British citizens who would to take their own power boats to evacuate the trapped British soldiers out of Dunkirk.
FDR and the USA were wanting to stay out of it at the time and advised Winston so. The December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor brought the USA in 'Big Time'.
Darkest Hour is a great movie with superb acting!
Please don't miss it especially if you are conservative and believe in citizen representation.
