Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Dear Employees:

As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the

fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and

government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go. So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem.

They voted for change...... I gave it to them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

With all due respect to all posters....and I mean that sincerely.

What the most serious issue was the allegations....and believe me, they were very strong and had a lot of legs to them....that there was grade

alteration and test alteration....including involving the head coach's son and a kid that could well have been one of the best players that ever put on a UK uniform.

The talk that was going on then is the same many posters are putting out today: setup....how could that come open ...the father of Mills questioned if his son was only worth that amount of money .

In fact, there have been some that claim they have solid proof that the envelope WAS a plant from rival fans.

It doesn't matter. What the deal was is alteration of test scores to make a player eligible.

The NCAA found enough proof that it almost completely shut down the

biggest name around in college ball.

The attitude that 'everyone is just jealous and nothing is going on' blinded all of us.

The coach at that time, Eddie Sutton, was considered a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. He built Creighton and Arkansas into basketball powers. He was the man that considered the PERFECT choice to replace to Joe Hall.

Drinker....sure...but highest integrity. Cliff Hagan...all american...champion basketball player...Home grown boy...was the AD.

It happens quick, folks. Trust me.

But the most interesting thing about it is that Eddie Sutton is rarely mentioned. Maybe it's because Kirkpatrick couldn't really figure out what Sutton's role was, but if you believe this article then the head coach was a bit player.

But there's this: Kentucky fans are mentioned a lot. If you believe this piece, then we were part of creating this machine where cheating was acceptable as long as the team won.

What interests me about that is that you can see some of that now.

I'm not saying Cal = Sutton, and I'm not alleging anything is going on in the program, but I do think there is an inherent danger when fans and boosters and the people like us start to look away and accept cheating.

I am afraid that many Kentucky fans are going to make UK basketball no fun as long as Coach Cal is here because of their mistrust. That is really sad.

For those of you who weren't around, there were a list of claims longer than I am tall about how UK was being targeted, cheated, set up...you name it. And looking back, some of that could have been correct....

BUT:

It was out of control to the point of grade tampering. UK was fortunate that it even HAD a basketball team after the investigation. Yes, it WAS that bad.

That's one of the reasons some of us get shivers when we hear about

allegations of 'pushing the envelope' when it comes to rules, and we really

catch our breath when the fan base laughs about it.

I don't think it is funny but it is a downer. I still think it has everything to do with Coach Cal whether some of us realize it or not. Will UK basketball ever become really fun again? I have my doubts. If we had any coach but Cal I don't think this topic would even be brought up. That is just my honest opinion.

You're probably right. Problems at UMASS and Memphis (whether coach Cal had any involvement or not) are the reason for these conversations, in my opinion. Those incidents will probably dog him for a long time, perhaps as long as he's a college coach. Especially since he coaches at one of the highest profile schools in the nation.

Will and Bill,

Curry Kirkpatrick, in my memory is the Sports Illustrated journalist who started the revisionist history on Adolph Rupp's racism. I give him not a dime of my thoughts. He began gossiping a message that has been perpetuated. Facts were never a problem to the guy. He wanted sensationalism to get the attention of sports fans whether truth or fiction.

I grew up listening to Bill Stern on Friday night radio. Bill would tell a story and reveal the name of a noted sports person of the day as the main person in the story at the end of the story. He became immensely popular and then somebody checked a few of his stories and found that he was 'creating' the association. Bill had such dramatic presentations that I and his audiences hung on every word. He was a hero journalist destroyed to most of us when the truth entered the picture.

Curry Kirkpatrick ... Ugh!

Sorry ... Just my honest opinion.

Thanks Bob Looney and the Smallwoods! Social Security Interesting

Subject: Your Social Security

Your Social Security

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!

Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message was removed.[9]

An old Social Security card with the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message.

Our Social Security

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social

Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be

Completely voluntary,

No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay

1% of the first $1,400 of their annual

Incomes into the Program,

Now 7.65%

On the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put

Into the Program would be deductible from

Their income for tax purposes each year,

No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the

Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the

General operating fund, and therefore, would

Only be used to fund the Social Security

Retirement Program, and no other

Government program, and,

Under Johnson the money was moved to

The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

Under Clinton & Gore

Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are

Now receiving a Social Security check every month --

And then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of

The money we paid to the Federal government to 'put

Away -- you may be interested in the following:

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the

Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the

General fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically

Controlled House and Senate.

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax

Deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social

Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the

'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the

Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -

Q: Which Political Party decided to start

Giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:

A: That's right!

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.

Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,

Began to receive Social Security payments! The

Democratic Party gave these payments to them,

Even though they never paid a dime into it!

------------ -- ------------ --------- ----- ------------ --------- ---------

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),

The Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of

Awareness will be planted and maybe changes will

Evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully

Sure of what isn't so.

But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to?

Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!
