Welcome

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.

For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Best Donald Trump ... Charles Krauthammer ... Thx Paul C!

Subject: Who is Donald R. Trump
A LETTER WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE FINEST DISCRIPTIONS OF OUR PRESIDENT TRUMP THAT I BELIEVE COULD BE WRITTEN BY ANYONE—-THIS IS TRULY WHAT TRUMP STANDS FOR & IS ABOUT EVERYTHING HE SETS OUT TO DO OR CORRECT!!!——-Please send this around the WORLD, Let’s get all AMERICA TO JOIN WITH HIM, Let’s PRAY FOR HIM & FOR ALL PEOPLE OF THE WORLD SO THAT THEY CAN UNDERSTAND THAT HE CAN “MAKE THE WORLD GREAT AGAIN”

WHO IS DONALD TRUMP!

Charles Krauthammer’s interesting take on Mr. Trump!

Having been retired for 24 years has given me time to read and the dividing of Americans to create a Socialist government is my biggest fear. Many writers, scholars and some with genius minds have become my mentors. This group numbers less than a dozen and I read every word they write. Of this small group Charles Krauthammer is one of the smartest Americans alive. His article that follows is proof that Mr, Krauthammer has taken the time to explain how Donald Trump is so well focused on the problems we face that no one in government service has the foggiest idea what is happening. Together with the fact that the majority those in government service have become so liberal they have yet awakened to the fact they face a leader who is unafraid them or anyone else in the world.

Trump has had the same effect on other world leaders who have never crossed paths with anyone who can’t stomach pomp and ceremony. Sadly many feel is necessary to be an elite to lead any government. I feel certain that those who are awakening with fear have little time left if they continue to challenge his unique and no nonsense method of solving problems. He tweets in his unique way to try to awaken those who feel privileged and his mind functions so fast few have the foggiest idea that what is coming on the horizon. Those who oppose his wisdom have not awakened to the fact they are in a tunnel of their choice and a locomotive is headed their way. The useless have crawled into the tunnel trying to protect their rear ends.

Why do you think some 30 key Republicans, including Speaker Paul Ryan, have announced they will not run for re-election?. Whether Trump continues to have a majority in Congress or not, Mr. Schumer and whatever gender Nancy Pelosi actually functions as, should have hired some smarter people. Factually, because they drifted so far left, there may not be anyone in the Democratic world who can see the locomotive on the Trump train headed their way?

Clear your mind, relax and hope you have enough sense to understand what you are about to read. This article will sail over the heads for most Americans for two reasons. One they don’t understand and two they would never admit they are out manned by a human so much smarter than themselves. Watching them get run over by the Trump Train as it flies by will be enjoyable. All trump needs is the support of the working folks to strengthen our Republic to help them stay free.

You may find the  following article is of no interest. Our media will fit ignore it including FOX.  I believe Krauthammer has correctly identified who and what Trump is all about. Charles Krauthammer’s interesting take on Mr. Trump Is brilliant.

Preamble

To my friends “of a different persuasion” I’m not trying to sell anything or anyone but I do feel this is an interesting take on our very controversial president who I truly believe is not Republican or Democrat. CK

A TAKE ON DONALD TRUMP

A different take on Donald Trump: (a non-political agenda) Trump Is Not A Liberal or Conservative, He’s a “Pragmatist.”

(Definition: A pragmatist is someone who is practical and focused on reaching a goal. A pragmatist usually has a straightforward, matter-of-fact approach and doesn’t let emotion distract him or her.)

“We recently enjoyed a belated holiday dinner with friends at the home of other friends. The dinner conversation varied from discussions about antique glass and china to theology and politics.

At one point, reference was made to Donald Trump being a conservative, to which I responded that Trump is not a conservative.

I said that I neither view nor do I believe Trump views himself as a conservative. I stated it was my opinion that Trump is a pragmatist. He sees a problem and understands it must be fixed. He doesn’t see the problem as liberal or conservative, he sees it only as a problem. That is a quality that should be admired and applauded, not condemned. But I get ahead of myself.

Viewing problems from a Liberal perspective has resulted in the creation of more problems, more entitlement programs, more victims, more government, more political correctness, and more attacks on the working class in all economic strata.

Viewing things according to the so-called Republican conservative perspective has brought continued spending and globalism to the detriment of American interests and well being, denial of what the real problems are, weak, ineffective, milquetoast, leadership that amounts to Barney Fife Deputy Sheriff, appeasement oriented and afraid of its own shadow. In brief, it has brought liberal ideology with a pachyderm as a mascot juxtaposed to the ass of the Democrat Party.

Immigration isn’t a Republican problem,it isn’t a Liberal problem it is a problem that threatens the very fabric and infrastructure of America. It demands a pragmatic approach not an approach that is intended to appease one group or another.

The impending collapse of the economy wasn’t a Liberal or Conservative problem, it is an American problem. That said, until it is viewed as a problem that demands a common sense approach to resolution, it will never be fixed because the Democrats and Republicans know only one way to fix things and the longevity of their impracticality has proven to have no lasting effect.

Successful businessmen like Donald Trump find ways to make things work, they do not promise to accommodate.

Trump uniquely understands that China’s manipulation of currency is not a Republican problem or a Democrat problem. It is a problem that threatens our financial stability and he understands the proper balance needed to fix it.

Here again, successful businessmen like Trump who have weathered the changing tides of economic reality understand what is necessary to make business work, and they, unlike both sides of the political aisle, know that if something doesn’t work, you don’t continue trying to make it work hoping that at some point it will.

As a pragmatist, Donald Trump hasn’t made wild pie-in-the-sky promises of a cell phone in every pocket, free college tuition, and a $15 hour minimum wage for working the drive-through at Carl’s Hamburgers.

I argue that America needs pragmatists because pragmatists see a problem and find ways to fix them. They do not see a problem and compound it by creating more problems.

You may not like Donald Trump, but I suspect that the reason some people do not like him is because:

(1) he is antithetical to the “good old boy” method of brokering backroom deals that fatten the coffers of politicians;

(2) they are unaccustomed to hearing a president speak who is unencumbered by the financial shackles of those who he owes vis-a-vis donations;

(3) he is someone who is free of idiomatic political ideology;

(4) he says what he is thinking, is unapologetic for his outspoken thoughts, speaks very straightforward using everyday language that can be understood by all (and is offensive to some who dislike him anyway) making him a great communicator, for the most part, does what he says he will do and;

(5) he is someone who understands that it takes more than hollow promises and political correctness to make America great again.

Listening to Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders talk about fixing America is like listening to two lunatics trying to “out crazy” one another. Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Marco Rubio are owned lock, stock, and barrel by the bankers, corporations, and big dollar donors funding their campaigns. Bush can deny it, but common sense tells anyone willing to face facts that people don’t give tens of millions without expecting something in return

We have had Democrats and Republican ideologues and what has it brought us? Are we better off today or worse off? Has it happened overnight or has it been a steady decline brought on by both parties?

I submit that a pragmatist is just what America needs right now. People are quick to confuse and despise confidence as arrogance, but that is common among those who have never accomplished anything in their lives (or politicians who never really solved a problem, because it’s better to still have an “issue(s) to be solved,” so re-elect me to solve it, (which never happens) and those who have always played it safe (again, all politicians) not willing to risk failure, to try and achieve success).

Donald Trump put his total financial empire at risk in running for president and certainly did not need or possibly even want the job; that says it all. He wants success for the U.S. and her citizens because he loves his country!

Alas Americans we have a leader and if the media and the liberal government employees are not careful they will find imprisonment very uncomfortable. The people have the chance to unwind the Washington pomp and ceremony and make these folks eat some humble pie. I hope I live long enough to see the pie served. Are you with me???

Charles Krauthammer

A BRILLIANT MAN!

         1. Born: March 13, 1950

         2. Birthplace: New York City ,
         New York

         3. Raised in Montreal , Canada

         4. Attended McGill University and Harvard Medical School

         5. 1972 diving accident left him paralyzed from the neck on down.

         6. Directed psychiatric research for the Carter administration

         7. Began writing career in 1981 with The New Republic

         8. Helped develop the "Reagan Doctrine" in the 80's

         9. Appointed to Presidential Council on Bioethics in 2002

Dr. Krauthammer is frequently on the Fox News Channel.  He is an M.D.,

a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down.  A friend went to hear
Charles Krauthammer.  He listened with 25 others in a closed room.
What he says here is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st.  The ramifications are staggering
for us, our children and their  children.

Last Monday was a profound evening.  Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the
Center for the American Experiment. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned &
articulate.  He is forthright and careful in his analysis and never resorts to
emotions or personal insults.  He is NOT a fear monger, nor an extremist, in
his comments and views.  He is a fiscal conservative and has received a Pulitzer
Prize for writing.  He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly
for the Washington Post.

The entire room was held spellbound during his talk.  I have summarized his
comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally.

Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like
forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid,
 feel free.

 Summary of his comments:

         1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be
underestimated.  He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions.
It's very hard to know what's behind the mask.  The taking down of the
Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment.  The Clintons still do
not understand what hit them.  Obama was in the perfect place at the
            perfect time.

         2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton.  He has a
way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position,
while doing the opposite.  Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch
            what he DOES!

         3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power.  He did not come to Washington to
make something out of himself but rather to change everything, including
dismantling capitalism.  He can't be straight forward on his ambitions, as the
public would not go along.  He has a heavy hand and wants to level the playing
field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society.
He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada .

         4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION and NATIONAL
HEALTHCARE by the Federal government.  He doesn't care about the auto or
financial services industries but got them as an early bonus.  The cap and trade
will add costs to everything and stifle growth.  Paying for FREE college education
is his goal.  Most scary is his healthcare program because if you make it FREE
and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will
go through the roof.  The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of
services, like in Canada.  God forbid!

         5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around
him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto,
financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run.
Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing
short of revolution.  He ran as a moderate but will govern from the hard left.
Again, watch what he DOES, not what he says.

         6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States but more as a
ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate
various countries and their agendas.  He sees moral equivalency in all cultures.  His
apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America
as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that
has at times made errors.  This is the first President, ever , who has chastised our
            allies and appeased our enemies!

         7. He is now handing out goodies.  He would like to blame all problems on Bush, from
the past, and hopefully his successor in the future.  He has a huge ego and Dr.
Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist. (the Dr. IS a psychiatrist)

         8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while but will emerge strong.  Republicans
are  pining for another Reagan but there will never be another like him.  Krauthammer
believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his            terrible speech      in
February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant but has baggage.  Sarah
Palin is sincere and intelligent but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and
info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of
lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense and
            State's Rights.

         9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous.  We are spending trillions
That we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse.  No country
has ever spent themselves into prosperity.  The Liberal Media loves the democratic agenda.
But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work,
nor the stimulus package.  These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and
the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.

         10. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress.
There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us
to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance.  The work will be hard but we're right on
most issues and can reclaim our country before it's far too late.

Do yourself a long term favor.  Send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of
the big picture.  All our futures and children's futures depend on our good understanding of
what is really going on in DC and our action pursuant to that understanding!

If you hold sacred the freedoms granted to you by the U.S. Constitution?

By all means, PLEASE, PASS IT ON!

Krauthammer- GOP must keep B\enghazi hearings focused on facts ... Columbus Dispatch

Charles Krauthammer commentary: GOP must keep Benghazi hearings focused on facts

Sunday May 11, 2014 8:18 AM
The Democrats are portraying the not-yet-even-constituted House Select Committee on Benghazi as nothing but a partisan exercise. They are even considering boycotting the hearings to delegitimize them.
Fine. Although this would give the Obama-protective media a further reason to ignore Benghazi, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is whether the committee produces new, important facts. If it does, it will be impossible to ignore.
We’ve already seen what a single piece of new evidence can do in reviving interest in a story that many (including me) thought the administration had successfully stonewalled. The “PREP CALL with Susan (Rice)” email from Ben Rhodes, the deputy national security adviser, was withheld eight months until revealed by court order. It advises the U.N. ambassador to focus on an anti-Islam Internet video, thus contradicting the perennial White House claim that Rice’s blame-the-video five-show fable came just from intelligence-community talking points and not from a White House in full campaign mode.
The select committee will be headed by Rep. Trey Gowdy, a skilled 16-year prosecutor. He needs to keep the hearings clean and strictly fact-oriented. Questions only, no speechifying. Every sentence by every GOP committee member must end with a question mark. Should any committee Republican instead make a statement ending in a period, the chairman should immediately, by button, deliver an electric shock through the violator’s seat.
The areas of inquiry are obvious. They are three: before, during and after.
Before:
Where and to what extent was there dereliction of duty as memos, urgent pleas and mounting evidence of danger were ignored and the U.S. ambassador allowed to enter a deathtrap?
During:
What happened during the eight hours of the Benghazi attack, at the end of which the last two Americans (of four) were killed by mortar fire? Where was the commander in chief, and where was the responsible cabinet secretary, Hillary Clinton? What did they do?
The White House acts as if these are, alternatively, either state secrets or of no importance.
For President Barack Obama, we have three data points. At 5 p.m. EDT, he is briefed on the attack by the secretary of defense and chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
At around 8 p.m., Obama spends an hour on the phone with Benjamin Netanyahu to tamp down a breaking, politically injurious story that Obama had snubbed the Israeli prime minister. The White House then issues a readout saying the two leaders had agreed there had been no snub.
So the White House is engaged in campaign damage control quite literally in the middle of the Benghazi events — at a time when Ambassador Chris Stevens is still missing and the final firefight that killed two other Americans is still three hours away. We’ve just learned that Obama was not in the Situation Room that night. Then where, doing what?
We know, finally, that at 10 p.m. Obama called Clinton to get an update. What did they discuss, decide, order?
As former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy has pointed out, a half-hour later, State issued a statement deploring the video, setting the premise for the video excuse. Were Obama and Clinton working on a cover story — even before Glen Doherty had joined Tyrone Woods on the roof of the CIA annex where they were to die minutes later?
Yes, that’s speculation. Well, then, give us facts. After all, the White House provided a cascade of hagiographic facts about Obama’s involvement in the Osama bin Laden raid. Yet regarding Benghazi — the most serious operational challenge of his presidency — he is nowhere to be seen.
After:
We now know the White House was pushing the “video made them do it” cover-up, lest the blame be placed on administration policy. Who was involved in that decision, obviously designed to protect a president campaigning that al-Qaida was “on the run”?
These hearings are a big political risk for Republicans. Going into the 2014 election, they stand to benefit from the major issues — Obamacare, the economy, chronic unemployment — from which Benghazi hearings can only distract. Worse, if botched like previous hearings on the matter, these hearings could backfire against the GOP, as did the 1998 Clinton impeachment proceedings. On purely partisan considerations, the hearings are not worth the political risk.
But the country deserves the truth. They’ll get it if the GOP can keep the proceedings clean, factual and dispassionate. No speeches. No grandstanding. Gowdy has got to be a tough disciplinarian — especially toward his own side of the aisle.

to me
Hi Sam,  this is an excellent article and I love this man.  Too bad he can't be voted in as our president in the future.
I enjoy your emails, but I have had bronchitis for over 3 weeks now and just getting over the coughing spells I had.
A lot of folks in our area have had this same illnes and some had the flu.  The hospital and clincs around here were seeing
a lot of patients since Christmas.  Guess I was lucky, I came down with this the first of the year and have been miserable
up until now.  Just now getting back into the swing of things and feeling much better.  Sure hope all is well with you and
Jeannie.  We have had some really bad bitter cold spells here along with 3 inches of snow in our Mt.Vernon Area and DC
proper.  I saw the news on your area too and the midwest.  Wonder what February is going to be like.  Usually we get this
kind of bad snowy and bitter cold weather in February, but it came early this year.  Well, take care and thanks for so many good
articles you have been sending me.  Takes me awhile to get through them all, but I really do enjoy them.
Keep up the good work and stay warm!  Fondly, Marge

I also believe Krauthammer would be the best candidate, Marge.  Jeanie
and I had some of the cold sickness and we are each sick of the bad
weather.  Please take care.  I am lucky to receive your wonderfiul
messages and those of all my very intelligent correspondents.  Alan
Bless, who replaced me in the metallurgy lab I set up at DSCC, is
retiring tomorrow and they have a 40 year old metallurgical engineer
replacing him.  I attended Al's retirement luncheon last Friday.

You helped me immensely in scouting through documents to find good
surplus metallurgical equipment.  The lab was wonderfully equipped at
a small fraction of new although it functioned as new and became a
vital part of the Defense structure.  Aren't we the luckiest with our
great acquaintances?

Thanks again good friend!

10 When Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.

11. If the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back
into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between
8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this
gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress.
There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he
encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will
be hard but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country before
it's far too late.

12. This  country will fall if is refuses to elect conservatives like Reagan, who  loved the Constitution and its ability to limit political power.  Unless this Leviathan is destroyed and government is pared back to the  limited size originally delineated by the Constitution we are going  down.

It's been a long slog to get us here,  starting with the second president, John Adams, being the first to try  to dictate instead of serve. This plot was hatched behind the scenes at  the convention in Philadelphia in 1787 when the Monarchists lost the vote  in their attempt to destroy states sovereignty and form a large  centralized federal government. They may have lost the vote, but they  have been winning the battles stealth fully for a long time. Time for a  change, a real change, back to the original intents and limits of the  Constitution.

Do yourself a long term favor. Send this to all who will listen to an
intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's

Democratic liberalism's affect upon government- Detroit

Charles Krauthammer commentary: When entitlement state gets too big, you get Detroit

If there’s an iron rule in economics, it is Stein’s Law (named after Herb, former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers): “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.”
Detroit, for example, can no longer go on borrowing, spending, raising taxes and dangerously cutting such essential services as street lighting and police protection. So it stops. It goes bust.
Cause of death? Corruption, both legal and illegal, plus a classic case of reactionary liberalism in which the governing Democrats — there’s been no Republican mayor in half a century — simply refused to adapt to the straitened economic circumstances that followed the post-World War II auto boom.
Corruption of the criminal sort was legendary. The former mayor currently serving time engaged in a breathtaking range of fraud, extortion and racketeering. And he didn’t act alone. The legal corruption was the cozy symbiosis of Democratic politicians and powerful unions, especially the public-sector unions that gave money to elect the politicians who negotiated their contracts — with wildly unsustainable health and pension benefits.
When our great industrial competitors were digging out from the rubble of World War II, Detroit’s automakers ruled the world. Their imagined sense of inherent superiority bred complacency. Management grew increasingly bureaucratic and inflexible. Unions felt entitled to the extraordinary wages, benefits and work rules they’d bargained for in the fat years. In time, they all found themselves being overtaken by more efficient, more adaptable, more hungry foreign producers.
The market ultimately forced the car companies into reform, restructuring, the occasional bankruptcy and eventual recovery. The city of Detroit, however, lacking market constraints, just kept overspending — $100 million annually since 2008. The city now has about $19 billion in obligations it has no chance of meeting. So much city revenue had to be diverted to creditors and pensioners that there was practically nothing left to run the city. Forty percent of the streetlights don’t work, two-thirds of the parks are closed and emergency police response time averages nearly an hour — if it ever comes at all.
Bankruptcy, which will radically cut payments to bondholders and retirees, is the only chance to start over. Yet, if a Detroit bankruptcy succeeds, other cities will be tempted to follow suit. Dozens of other large urban areas have similarly massive pension and debt obligations, with commensurately denuded services and exorbitant taxes — leading to a vicious cycle of depopulation that makes everything worse. Detroit has lost more than 60 percent of its population since 1950.
The moral hazard increases if the federal government steps in to help. The Obama administration is therefore firmly opposed to any “bailout,” recognizing both the political toxicity of the word and the fiscal consequences of a Detroit precedent that invites other cities to line up with a tin cup. Washington cannot afford a nationwide bailout of insolvent cities.
However, under pressure of the public-sector unions, whose retirees will necessarily be victimized, the administration will likely offer “assistance” — which implies whatever kind of non-cash payments, indirect funds from other ongoing federal programs and enterprise-zone tax subsidies that it can get away with.
But Detroit is an object lesson not just for other cities. Not even the almighty federal government is immune to Stein’s Law. Reactionary liberalism simply cannot countenance serious reform of the iconic social-welfare programs of the 20th century. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are pledged to their inviolability. President Barack Obama will occasionally admit that, for example, Medicare cannot go on as is, but then reverts to crude demagoguery when Republicans propose a structural reform, such as premium support for Medicare or something as obvious as raising the retirement age to match increasing longevity.
On the contrary. Obama added one enormous new entitlement (Obamacare) and, in his last State of the Union address, proposed yet another (universal preschool).
None of this is inevitable. In Wisconsin, Republicans showed that they recognize the perils of unconstrained government growth and will take on the unchecked power of government unions. Democratic Detroit, on the other hand, has for 50 years conducted a contrary experiment in myopia and the most imprudent passivity.
It doesn’t take a genius to see what happens when the entitlement state outgrows the economy upon which it rests. The time of Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, the rest of insolvent social-democratic Europe — and now Detroit — is the time for conservatives to raise the banner of Stein’s Law and yell “Stop!” You can kick the can down the road, but at some point it disappears over a cliff.
Charles Krauthammer writes for the Washington Post Writers Group.
