Scioto County was one of the last to have any coronavirus cases and this week I noticed only 3 deaths, Greg. I think our hometown's population (now around 20,000) meet the social-distancing requirements of President Trump's Task Force guidelines. Old Grade schools are mainly torn down and there are many school busses to centralized schooling, down near the old PHS. I wonder that isn't more expensive, and less desirable, except for the newness.
It just seems to me that there are so few of our age-group around and I guess that goes with the blessings of our living so long, Greg.
Dick Klitch is still in TX w/ Joan. He doesn't correspond much anymore.
Graydon Webb is leading our Portsmouth Breakfast Group but no meetings since February because of the Pandemic. Graydon is a tremendous person who graduated in the mid-sixties from PHS. He has a lot of the younger alumni or southern Ohio friends coming to the group's meetings.
My wife, Jeanie (Weddington of New Boston, now 68 years) has not been out of our condo for six weeks and I rarely venture out except to mask-up and glove-up and get a few needed groceries.
So many of our best friends like Gib Lakeman, Gus Thompson, and so many other Mound Park urchins have passed on.
The Veterans Highway by-pass of Portsmouth was an unbelievable construction. It ranks at the top of such highway projects in cost and it is a beautiful few minute drive that cuts of about 30 traffic lights and 15 miles of the alternate travel through our home town of Portsmouth. Many cuts through many hills and just two exits as I remember.
I am sure that Greg Hatch (PHS 51) who played on the Trojan Basketball teams of Coach Bill Rohr, and graduated from Miami of Ohio, would enjoy anything anybody would like to add per email. Any Portsmouthites who want to chip in to inform him would be appreciated. He is long-timer Florida resident, I have not seen since high school days
Hope this helps some, Greg ...
