For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Polls indicate that the public is so disgusted with Washington politicians of both parties that a large proportion of the people would like to get rid of the whole lot of them.
It is certainly understandable that the voters would like to “throw the rascals out.” But there is no point in throwing the rascals out, if we are just going to get a new set of rascals to replace them.
In other words, we need to think about what there is about current political practices that repeatedly bring to power such a counterproductive set of people. Those we call “public servants” have in fact become public masters. And they act like it.
They squander ever more vast amounts of our tax money, and still leave trillions of dollars of national debt to be paid by our children and grandchildren. They intrude into our private lives with ever more restrictions, red tape and electronic surveillance. And they turn groups of Americans against each other with class-warfare rhetoric and policies.
None of this is inevitable. In fact, this pattern is largely the culmination of political trends set in motion during the 1930s. During the 1920s, the national debt was reduced and the role of government scaled back. Unemployment went as low as 1.8 percent.
President Calvin Coolidge, with every prospect of being re-elected in 1928, declared simply: “I do not choose to run.” Later, in his memoirs, he explained how dangerous it is to have anyone remain too long in the White House, surrounded by flattery and insulated from reality. What a contrast that attitude is with the attitude of the current occupant of the White House.
The contrast extends beyond these two presidents. What we have today that we did not have in the early history of this country is a permanent political class in Washington — a Congress and an ever-growing federal bureaucracy composed of people who have become a permanent ruling class.
The United States was not founded by career politicians but by people who took time out from their regular professions to serve during a crucial time in the creation of a new nation, and a new kind of nation in a world ruled by kings and emperors.
In the nineteenth century, there was a high rate of turnover in members of Congress. Many people went to Washington to serve one term in Congress, then returned to their home state to resume their lives as private citizens.
The rise of the permanent political class in Washington came with the rise of a vast government apparatus with unprecedented amounts of money and power to control and corrupt individuals, institutions and the fabric of the whole society.
The first giant steps in this direction were taken in the 1930s, when the Great Depression provided the rationale for a radically expanded role of government that Franklin D. Roosevelt and his followers had believed in before there was a Great Depression.
There are people in Washington whose entire adult lives have been spent in government, in one role or another. Some begin as aides to politicians or as part of the sprawling empires of the federal bureaucracy. From this they progress to high elective or appointed offices in government.
Turnover in Congress has been reduced almost to the vanishing point. Political alliances within government and with outside special interests, as well as the gerrymandering of Congressional districts, make most incumbents’ re-election virtually a foregone conclusion.
The ability to distribute largess to voters, at the taxpayers’ expense — President Barack Obama giving away cell phones during an election year being just the tip of the iceberg — further tilts the balance in favor of incumbents.
This kind of government must constantly “do something” in order to keep incumbents’ names in the news. In short, big government has every incentive to create bigger government.
Throwing the rascals out will not get rid of this political pattern. The first step in limiting, and then scaling back, government itself must be limiting the time that anyone can remain in office — preferably limited to one term, to make it harder to become career politicians, a species we can well do without.

Thomas Sowell likes Newt Gingrich

Absolutely on target !

"Many people are looking to the many primary elections on March 6th -- 'Super Tuesday' -- to clarify where this year's Republican nomination campaign is headed. It may clarify far more than that, including the future of this nation and of Western civilization. If a clear winner with a commanding lead emerges, the question then becomes whether that candidate is someone who is likely to defeat Barack Obama. If not, then the fate of America -- and of Western nations, including Israel -- will be left in the hands of a man with a lifelong hostility to Western values and Western interests. ... The election next November will not be just another election, and the stakes add up to far more than the sum of the individual issues. Moreover, if reelected and facing no future election, whatever political constraints may have limited how far Obama would push his radical agenda will be gone. He would have the closest thing to a blank check. Nothing could stop him but impeachment or a military coup, and both are very unlikely. A genial corrupter is all the more dangerous for being genial. The four remaining Republican candidates have to be judged, not simply by whether they would make good presidents, but by how well they can cut through Obama's personal popularity and glib rhetoric, to alert the voters as to the stakes in this year's election. ... Do any of the Republican candidates seem ideal? No. But, the White House cannot be left vacant, while we hope for a better field of candidates in 2016. We have to make our choice among the alternatives actually available, of which Obama is by far the worst." --economist Thomas Sowell

Occupy Wall Street by Thomas Sowell

NOW THIS MAN SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENT. SOUNDS LIKE
HE HAS A REAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHATS GOING ON !!!

A great American. I hope it's not too late. Remember in November.

A great article. One of the most intellectual human beings in this country, hits it right on the head ! ! !

-- The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are out numbered by the people that vote for a living.
The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.

It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and of murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.

It is an America where humans have been degraded to the level of animals: of defecating in public, having sex in public, devoid of basic hygiene. It is an America where the basic tenets of a civil society, including faith, family, a free press and individual rights, have been always rejected. It is an America where our founding documents have been now shredded and, with them, every person's guaranteed liberties.

It is an America where, ultimately, great suffering will come to the American people, but the rulers like Obama, Michelle Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, liberal college professors, union bosses and all other loyal liberal/Communist Party members will live in opulent splendor.
It is the America that Obama and the Democrat Party have now created with all the willing assistance of the American media, Hollywood, unions, universities, the Communist Party of America, the Black Panthers and numerous anti-American foreign entities.

Barack Obama has brought more destruction upon this country in three years than any other event in the history of our nation. The Occupy Wall Street movement is just another step in their plan for the annihilation of America.

Thomas Sowell ... Gingrich's baggage is Irrelevant- SamKat editorial

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/editorials/2011/12/20/gingrichs-baggage-is-irrelevant.html

I am a Gingrich supporter and a Tea Party member.  The above article by Thomas Sowell: "Gingrish's Baggage Is Irrelevant" hits a home run with me.

Patch, substituting for Glenn Beck today asks why:  In the past summer any opponent would get ten points above obama in 2012 and now obama leads any of the repub candidates by the polls.  The republicans have had several debates which only raise liberal questions to be used during the 2012 campaign. Each leading candidate now gets fewer 'for' points than obama for the election.  The debates did a lot more harm than good for the opponents of the traitorous obama:

obama's appointments have gone to tax dodgers, communists and any liberal he can find.

obama and Biden and Jesse Jackson instigated the wall street occupiers.  No doubt from obama's main experience as a community organizer- see ACORN!

obama has apologized to all foreign nations for the successes of the USA.

obama created 24 crooked czars to advise himself at the White House.

obama declared to the world that the USA is not a Christian nation.

obama discounted the National Day of Prayer, but worshipped with the muslims at their services.

obama has declared that if it ever was a problem he would side with the muslims.

obama has played havoc with our national debt.

There is so much more damaging change for our country under this pseudo-president, created by a super-rich liberal side of things- George Soros et al.

It purely makes me sick!

I wouldn't care who ran against obama, it should be NO Contest for the opponent. I want Newt Gingrich and a resurgence of us Tea Party members.  Even the established representatives and Senators are scared of the Tea Party and I think they should be!  Too many are enjoying the Congresssional perks at our expense.

Fire the nons.  Vote them out in 2012 and 2014!

How about some term limits, tort reform, lobbying reforms, fair taxes, better schools like we used to have, and all of the good that should be done for  this country!  I guess a much better system would avoid the necessity of raising so much money to run for office.  The millionaires get in and get even richer and then far too much spend time and money getting reelected as incumbents.

The USA  has capable citizens .  Why not some elected officials?

SamKat

I am a retired engineer and an author and, at 79, too old and unknown o run against obama, but any  honest citizen should cause his defeat in America!citizen
