Emails: Clinton Campaign Tried to Keep Donor George Soros 'Happy'

The campaign of Hillary Clinton talked about keeping liberal billionaire George Soros "happy" in an hacked email from the account of campaign chairman John Podesta and released by WikiLeaks.
The Oct. 7, 2014, email reveals a discussion between campaign manager Robby Mook, Clinton aide Huma Abedin and Podesta regarding the organization "America Votes."
"She is having dinner with George Soros tonight," Abedin writes. "Do you know much about America Votes? As Greg Speed explained to me, they are the coordinated campaign for various outside groups. Soros is a big supporter of the group and hes [sic] going to ask her tonight if she will come to a fundraiser for them at his house in December. Thoughts?"
Mook replies: "I would only do this for political reasons (ie to make Soros happy)."
"It’s very unclear to me how much AV will matter next cycle. And I haven’t seen then [sic] adding any value this cycle. I also worry a little it will cause donor confusion vis a vis Priorities."
The influence of Soros was exposed in another leaked email, this one written in July 2015. In it, Jacqueline Carozza from the office of Soros asks Podesta about arranging a meeting at the Soros summer home on Long Island.
"Please let me know which dates suit you best to come for a visit and hopefully we can coordinate a mutually convenient time for your stay," Carozza writes. "Please note that Mr. and Mrs. Soros will begin their summer in Southampton the weekend of July 4th and wrap up Labor Day weekend."
