For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Washington Post article on obama Thanks John M!

Date: Thursday, February 28, 2013, 1:30 PM

Finally, the Washington Post speaks out on Obama! This is very brutal, timely though. As I'm sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has a reputation for being extremely liberal. So the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. At last, the truth about our President and his obvious socialist agenda are starting to trickle through the protective wall built around him by our liberal media.
I too have become disillusioned.  A brilliant commentary out of none other than the Washington Post.

By Matt Patterson - columnist
Washington Post; New York Post; San Francisco ExaminerYears from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful military, execute the world's most consequential job? Imagine a future historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions. He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama's "spiritual mentor;" a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama's colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president? Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the color of his skin.Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don't care if these minority students fail; liberals aren't around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin - that's affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn't racism, then nothing is.And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary. What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama's oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people - conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that's when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth - it's all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly? In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office. Please pass this on after you read this one. Suddenly people are getting wise to this enemy of our USA . . . . maybe too late.

Take a good look at this picture. The US government is training Latino youth
as a kind of Hitler Youth or Communist Red Guard to put down American resistance to NWO/Communist tyranny.

By Bruce Lazarus

On September 13, 2012, the Dept of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps youth, aka the Homeland Youth.

The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930's Germany . Regardless of their name, Obama's Dept of Homeland Security has just graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth! Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the President's AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHS's "Youth Corps", designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country!

On September 13, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps first-responders, "Homeland Youth". While the idea of having a volunteer force of tens of thousands of volunteers scattered across the country to aid in times of natural disasters sounds great, the details and timing of this new government army is somewhat curious, if not disturbing!

DHS raising an armed army!

The first problem one finds with this 'new army' is the fact that they are mere children. Yes, 18 is generally the legal age a person can sign a contract, join the military or be tried as an adult. But ask any parent - an 18, 20 or even a 24 year-old is still a naïve, readily-influenced kid.

The second problem with this announcement and program is its timing. Over the past two years, Obama has signed a number of Executive Orders suspending all civil and Constitutional rights and turning over management of an America under Martial Law to FEMA!

Also in that time, domestic federal agencies under DHS, including FEMA, have ordered billions of rounds of ammunition as well as the corresponding firearms. Admittedly, these new weapons and ammunition are not to be used in some far-off war or to fight forest fires in California , but right here on the streets of America !

Strange Armored Fighting Vehicles

Individuals around the US have begun reporting the site of strange, new, heavily-armed FEMA fighting vehicles. What would a disaster relief agency like FEMA need with 2,500 brand new GLS armored fighting vehicles? According to the agency's own mandate, as well as Obama's recent Executive Order, the answer is 'population control' during a time of Martial Law.

---

Welcome to the FEMA Corps Inaugural Class   Of course, they mask it as "disaster relief" - So why the guns? This puts gun control and illegal immigration into perspective.

DHS releasing illegal immigrants before sequester

By ALICIA A. CALDWELL | Associated Press24 mins ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — A week before mandatory budget cuts go into effect across the government, the Department of Homeland Security has started releasing illegal immigrants being held in immigration jails across the country, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Tuesday.
Gillian Christensen
, an ICE spokeswoman, said ICE has reviewed "several hundred cases" of immigrants being held in jails around the country and released them in the last week. They have been "placed on an appropriate, more cost-effective form of supervised release," she said. Christensen said the agency's "priority for detention remains on serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety." She did not say how released immigrants were selected or what jails they were released from.
Tuesday's announcement of jail releases is the first tangible impact of the looming budget cuts for DHS.
The Obama administration has been issuing dire warnings about the impact of the sequestration and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters at the White House Monday that across-the-board cuts would impact the department's core operations, including border security and airport screening operations.
She also warned that DHS might not be able to afford to keep the 34,000 immigration jail beds mandated by Congress.
"I don't think we can maintain the same level of security at all places around the country with sequester as without sequester," said Napolitano, adding that the impact would be "'like a rolling ball. It will keep growing."
According to the National Immigration Forum, it costs the government about $164 a day to keep an illegal immigrant facing deportation jailed. In a report on immigration detention costs last year the advocacy group said costs for supervised release can range from about 30 cents to $14 a day.
The administration asked for about $1.96 billion for immigration jail operations in the last budget. It amounts to about $5.4 million a day, according to the National Immigration Forum's report.
Christensen said Tuesday that released immigrants will still face deportation proceedings.

Private insurance but government control Thanks Marge R!

Private Insurance but Government Control-scary

Private Insurance but Government Control

If you think the Obama health law won't affect you because you have private insurance, keep reading. The Department of Health and Human Services announced final rules for private insurance last week. The federal government will have control over your care. Sec. 1311 of the law empowers the Secretary of Health and Human Services to dictate how doctors treat privately insured patients and what questions patients must be asked. Your doctor will enter your information into an electronic database; your doctor's decisions will be monitored for compliance with federal guidelines, and your doctor may have to choose between what is best for you and avoiding a government penalty.
1. Ask your doctor about two sets of books. if you tell your doctor things you wouldn't confide to anyone. Otherwise your electronic record will include everything and be seen by thousands of eyes. Have depression, erectile dysfunction or a drinking problem? Your chiropractor will see it. So will thousands of non-physicians. President Obama's Jan. 16 Executive Actions to curb gun violence deemed health care privacy protections "unnecessary legal barriers," making it clear federal agencies will use health information for non-health purposes, such as background checks.
2. Line up your doctors now if you're a baby boomer. If you wait until you turn 65 and go on Medicare, you won't find a doctor willing to treat you. Doctors will be paid less to care for seniors than any other patients.
3. Insist on a specialist if you have a heart problem. Obamacare requires insurers to implement HMO — like controls that will reduce use of specialists. Recent research shows that patients with unstable angina do far better at avoiding heart attacks when they are seen regularly by cardiologists.
4. Brace yourself for less care at the hospital. Cuts to Medicare pay for over half this law, including a whopping $247 billion reduction in what hospitals will be paid. That will push hospitals into financial crisis, warned Richard Foster, chief actuary of Medicare. Nurses will be spread thinner and patients of every age will wait longer for help.
5. Ask your employer whether your on-the-job coverage is going to be dropped. The law compels employers with 50 or more full-time employees to provide a package of benefit that costs twice as much as what many currently offer. Some employers will opt to pay a penalty instead and notify you by Oct. 1. Amazingly, even federal actuaries admit the employer mandate will result in fewer people having employer coverage.
Some employers are already adjusting the size of their workforce to avoid the mandate, or they're pushing workers to part-time status (under 30 hours a week). Employers' obligations in 2014 will be determined by the size of their 2013 workforce.
6. Avoid Medicaid. If you lose on the job coverage, you'll either be directed to an insurance exchange or dumped into Medicaid. "Dumped" is the right word, because Medicaid is often inferior coverage. Research shows that surgery patients on Medicaid are 50 percent more likely to die when compared with surgery patients with private coverage and more at risk of dying even than uninsured patients.
Citizens with household incomes below 133 percent of poverty ($19,000 for a single person and $33,000 for a family of four) are ineligible for subsidized private plans on the exchanges. They have to settle for Medicaid. Legal immigrants with low incomes get a better deal. The law makes them eligible because otherwise they would be uninsured. Medicaid has a five-year waiting period for newcomers.
7. Don't be bamboozled by fancy marketing. An exchange is like a supermarket that only sells one product: the government-mandated "essential benefits" package, period. The bronze, silver, gold and platinum labels merely indicate different copays and deductibles. The cheapest bronze plan for a family of five will cost about $20,000 (before subsidies), according to the IRS, and it will cover only 60 percent of medical bills. Platinum plans will cover 90 percent.
The Obama health law empowers the Secretary of Health and Human Services for the first time in history to standardize medical care for privately insured patients. Look for thousands more regulations controlling you and your doctors.

UCLA on Alzheimer's Disease Thanks Sarah R and Jack H!

Subject: Fw: UCLA on Alzheimer's Disease - young or old should read

UCLA on Alzheimer's Disease - young or old should readFood for Thought

"The idea that Alzheimer's is  entirely genetic and unpreventable is perhaps the greatest misconception about  the disease," says Gary Small, M.D., director of the UCLA Centeron Aging.  Researchers now know that Alzheimer's, like heart disease and cancer, develops over decades and can be influenced by lifestyle factors including cholesterol,  blood pressure, obesity, depression, education, nutrition, sleep and mental,  physical and social activity. The big news: Mountains of research reveals that simple things you do every day might cut your odds of losing your mind to  Alzheimer's.  In search of scientific ways to delay and outlive Alzheimer's and other dementias, I tracked down thousands of studies and interviewed dozens of experts. The results in a new book: 100 Simple Things You Can Do to Prevent Alzheimer’s and Age-Related Memory Loss

Here are 10 strategies I found most surprising.

1.        Have coffee. In an amazing flip-flop, coffee is the new brain tonic. A large European study showed that drinking three to five cups of coffee a day in midlife cut Alzheimer's risk 65% in late life. University of South Florida researcher Gary Arendash credits caffeine: He says it reduces dementia-causing  amyloid in animal brains. Others credit coffee's antioxidants. So drink up,  Arendash advises, unless your doctor says you shouldn't.

2.        Floss. Oddly, the health of your teeth and gums can help predict dementia. University of Southern California research found that having periodontal disease before age 35 quadrupled the odds of dementia years later.  Older people with tooth and gum disease score lower on memory and cognition tests, other studies show. Experts speculate that inflammation in diseased mouths migrates to the brain.

3.        Google. Doing an online search can stimulate your aging brain even more  than reading a book, says UCLA's Gary Small, who used brain MRIs to prove it.  The biggest surprise: Novice Internet surfers, ages 55 to 78, activated key memory and learning centers in the brain after only a week of Web surfing for an hour a day.

4.        Grow new brain cells. Impossible, scientists used to say. Now it's believed that thousands of brain cells are born daily. The trick is to keep the newborns alive. What works: aerobic exercise (such as a brisk 30-minute  walk every day), strenuous mental activity, eating salmon and other fatty fish, and avoiding obesity, chronic stress, sleep deprivation, heavy drinking  and vitamin B deficiency. Drink apple juice. Apple juice can push production of the "memory chemical" acetylcholine; that's the way the popular Alzheimer's drug Aricept works, says Thomas Shea, Ph.D., of the University of  Massachusetts. He was surprised that old mice given apple juice did better on learning and memory tests than mice that received water. A dose for humans: 16 ounces, or two to three apples a day.

5.        Protect your head. Blows to the head, even mild ones earlyin life, increase odds of dementia years later. Pro football players have 19 times the typical rate of memory-related diseases. Alzheimer's is four times more common in elderly who suffer a head injury, Columbia University finds. Accidental  falls doubled an older person's odds of dementia five years later in another  study. Wear seat belts and helmets, fall-proof your house, and don't take risks.

6.        Meditate. Brain scans show that people who meditate regularly have less cognitive decline and brain shrinkage- a classic sign of Alzheimer's- as  they age. Andrew Newberg of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine says yoga meditation of 12 minutes a day for two months improved blood flow and cognitive functioning in seniors with memory problems.

7.        Take Vitamin D.  A "severe deficiency" of vitamin D boosts older  Americans' risk of cognitive impairment 394%, an alarming study by England's  University of Exeter finds. And most Americans lack vitamin D. Experts recommend a daily dose of 800 IU to 2,000 IU of vitamin D3.

8.        Fill your brain. It's called "cognitive reserve." A rich accumulation  of life experiences - education, marriage, socializing, a stimulating job,  language skills, having a purpose in life, physical activity and mentally  demanding leisure activities - makes your brain better able to tolerate  plaques and tangles. You can even have significant Alzheimer's pathology and  no symptoms of dementia if you have high cognitive reserve, says David  Bennett, M.D., of Chicago's Rush University Medical Center.

9.        Avoid infection. Astonishing new evidence ties Alzheimer's to cold sores, gastric ulcers, Lyme disease, pneumonia and the flu. Ruth Itzhaki,  Ph.D., of the University of Manchester in England estimates the cold-sore  herpes simplex virus is incriminated in 60% of Alzheimer's cases. The theory:  Infections trigger excessive beta amyloid "gunk" that kills brain cells. Proof  is still lacking, but why not avoid common infections and take appropriate  vaccines, antibiotics and antiviral agents?

10.     What to Drink for Good Memory: A great way to keep your aging memory sharp and avoid Alzheimer's is  to drink the right stuff.

a.        Tops: Juice. A glass of any fruit or vegetable juice three times a week slashed Alzheimer's odds 76% in Vanderbilt University research. Especially protective: blueberry, grape and apple juice, say other studies.

b.        Tea: Only a cup of black or green tea a week cut rates of cognitive  decline in older people by 37%, reports the Alzheimer's Association. Only brewed tea works. Skip bottled tea, which is devoid of antioxidants.

c.        Caffeine beverages. Surprisingly, caffeine fights memory loss and  Alzheimer's, suggest dozens of studies. Best sources: coffee (one Alzheimer's  researcher drinks five cups a day), tea and chocolate. Beware caffeine if you  are pregnant, have high blood pressure, insomnia or  anxiety.

d.        Red wine: If you drink  alcohol, a little red wine is most apt to benefit your aging brain. It's high  in antioxidants. Limit it to one daily glass for women, two for men.  Excessive alcohol,  notably binge drinking, brings on Alzheimer's.

e.        Two to avoid: Sugary soft drinks, especially those sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. They make lab animals dumb. Water with high copper  content also can up your odds of Alzheimer's. Use a water filter that removes excess minerals.

Ways to Save Your Kids from Alzheimer's:

·            Now, Alzheimer's isn't just a  disease that starts in old age. What happens to your child's brain seems to  have a dramatic impact on his or her likelihood of Alzheimer's many decades  later.

·            Here are five things you can  do now to help save your child from Alzheimer's and memory loss later in life,  according to the latest research. Prevent head blows: Insist your child wear a  helmet during biking, skating, skiing, baseball, football, hockey, and all  contact sports. A major blow as well as tiny repetitive unnoticed concussions  can cause damage, leading to memory loss and Alzheimer's years  later.

·           Encourage language skills: A  teenage girl who is a superior writer is eight times more likely to escape  Alzheimer's in late life than a teen with poor linguistic skills. Teaching  young children to be fluent in two or more languages makes them less  vulnerable to Alzheimer's.

·            Insist your child go to  college: Education is a powerful Alzheimer's deterrent . The more years of  formal schooling, the lower the odds. Most Alzheimer's prone: teenage drop  outs. For each year of education, your risk of dementia drops 11%, says a  recent University of Cambridge study.

·            Provide stimulation: Keep  your child's brain busy with physical, mental and social activities and novel  experiences. All these contribute to a bigger, better functioning brain with  more so-called 'cognitive reserve.' High cognitive reserve protects against  memory decline and Alzheimer's.

·            Spare the junk food: Lab  animals raised on berries, spinach and high omega-3 fish have great memories  in old age. Those overfed sugar, especially high fructose in soft drinks,  saturated fat and trans fats become overweight and diabetic, with smaller  brains and impaired memories as they age, a prelude to  Alzheimer's.
