I’d say if you ever find yourself in the situation, this could be worth the effort it takes to buy some of this…just in case.
For your health sake and information
Something new from Bayer!!
Something that we can do to help ourselves. Nice to know.
Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve under the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets
Why keep aspirin by your bedside?
About Heart Attacks
There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm.
One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.
Note: There may be no pain in the chest during a heart attack.
The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up.. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.
If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.
Afterwards:
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
- say "heart attack!"
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins.
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...

Welcome
Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.
For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

This 4th grade teacher has said it all, and she was brave enough to
attach her name to it, if it's true.

Mr. Obama:
I have had it with you and your administration,
sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that
you are not an adequate representative of the United States of
America collectively or of me personally.
You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans
and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of
the President of the United States of America . You are responsible
to the citizens of the United States .. You are not responsible to
the peoples of any other country on earth..
I personally resent that you go around the world
apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are
arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do
you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about
if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain
dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not
understand or know the history of the 20th century?
Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that
the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have
you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the
United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics
and the principles governing this country, at least until you came
along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?
Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an
affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone,
let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You didn't show Great Britain ,
our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you
bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia . How dare you, sir! How dare
you!
You cant find the time to visit the graves of our
greatest generation because you don't want to offend the Germans but
make time to visit a mosque in Turkey ... You offended our dead and
every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people
who saved the German people from themselves. What's the matter with
you? I am convinced that you and the members of your administration
have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should
be ashamed of yourselves, all of you..
You are so self-righteously offended by the big
bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about
the real thieves in this situation, Mr.. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin
Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac
bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously
doubt it.
What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1
million in bonuses to their staff members on top of the $2.5 million in
automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the
average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save
jobs with my employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who
authorized that? I surely didn't!
Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be
receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's
$45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie
executives have already been awarded $51 million not a bad take. Who
authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this
group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right
now?
I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens
as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching
what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of
you.
I also want you to know that I personally find
just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my
sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that
you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful
country.
Sincerely,
Every real American

It's The Same War, Mr. President!
By Doug Patton
November 9, 2009
The first words out of a person's mouth, especially in a stressful or crisis situation, are often quite telling. Barack Obama, America's first openly Marxist president, is no exception. Even though his handlers had plenty of time to craft a message about the terrorist shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, this president's first reaction was to describe what he sees as the distinction between the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and this latest terrorist attack inside our borders.
Obama's exact words were, "It is difficult enough when we lose men and women in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on American soil."
Who do you think we are fighting "overseas," Mr. President? Do you imagine for a moment this is not the same enemy? Just because Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan didn't have a shiny new badge in his pocket reading "Junior Al-Qaeda Deputy," does not preclude him being in the enemy's camp. This particular terrorist was born and raised in Virginia, yet he identified himself as Palestinian. He joined the U.S. Army right out of high school, thereby allowing American taxpayers to pay his way through college, medical school, internship and residency over the last two decades.
We literally paid for Dr. Hasan to become a 21st century psychiatrist. Yet in the end, his backward, violent 7th century religious beliefs meant more to him than his own country and countrymen. His allegiance is with radical Islam, as evidenced by the fact that he murdered 13 innocent people and wounded 30 others. And lest you have any doubts about his jihadist intentions or where he allies himself in the War on Terror, he was yelling "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) before pulling the trigger.
Of course, the president and the collective leftist media are cautioning against "jumping to conclusions" around the whole politically incorrect notion that this was a clear act of terrorism. Frankly, it's a pretty short leap. Had this individual been some southern redneck named Billy Bob Jones shouting, "Jesus saves," while shooting down innocent people, the administration and the press would have been "jumping to conclusions" with both feet.
We are being overrun with tales of how this poor, confused man felt persecuted and harassed because of his Muslim faith. This man complained about American involvement in Muslim countries, advocated violence as a way to protest and tried to convert psychiatric patients to Islam! And after he shoots people, we're supposed to believe he is the victim?
The insinuation seems to be that a man who never saw a day of combat or spent one minute in a live war zone suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by listening, during counseling sessions, to stories of people who had. That's a bit like saying I'm entitled to slave reparations because I saw "Amistad."
As if there needed to be any clearer delineation of the integrity of true American soldiers versus the madness of Islamism, the reports are that as soon as he was neutralized, the other soldiers, his intended victims, took away his gun and immediately began working to save his life.
Jihadists cut off civilians heads with rusty knives and murder their own children in the name of the "Religion of Peace." American soldiers take only the lives necessary to keep us safe, and manage to save a life that even Hasan's own family has now denounced. These soldiers didn't do it because they had to, but because they followed their training. It is endemic to the American ideal that where mercy is given, mercy is shown. The moral relativism that says American soldiers are just as bad as the terrorists is beyond hypocritical. It is insanity. It is Orwellian "War is Peace/Hate is Love," insanity.
Our Muslim-sympathizer-in-chief, Barack Obama, wants us to believe this was an isolated incident with no connection to the Islamic extremism we are battling overseas; but clear-thinking Americans know better. They understand it is the same war.

Denzel Washington, and Brooks Army Medical Center
Don't know whether you heard about this but
Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center , in San Antonio ,Texas (BAMC) the other day. . . This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States , especially burn victims. There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses.
The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.
While Denzel Washingtonwas visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build . . . He took his checkbook out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.
The question is -why do:
Brad Pitt
Madonna,
Tom Cruise and
other Hollywood fluff
make front page news with their ridiculous antics and Denzel Washington's Patriotism doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San Antonio ?

Although this particular e-mail arrangement leans toward the fallen soldier, my prayers and gratitude today goes to not only those who gave their lives, but also to those who served and gave a portion of their lives to the freedoms and the greatness for all to enjoy in this country. My only regret is that more of this country doesn't understand any service in the military is a service and a sacrifice regardless of action seen, M.O., country visited, etc. Ft. Hood, Texas has certainly provided the evidence to attest to this.
We don't speak British English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, or Arabic in this country as an official language for one simple reason. We have a very powerful military that gets the job done. Thank you for your contribution to the goal of keeping America, American.

GOD BLESS YOU FOR PASSING IT ON!
THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass.
'Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you ? Have you always turned the other cheek ? To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said, 'No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime, When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God.
'Step forward now, you soldier, You've borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell.'

It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

Ft. Subject: PTSD syndrome?!
The PTSD evasion
By Rich Lowry
http://www.JewishWorldReview.com
Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers in a rampage at Fort Hood, is a most unlikely victim of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
He never experienced any combat-related trauma. He had never even been deployed overseas. Yet, he had barely stopped shooting his victims in cold blood, chasing the wounded to finish them off, when the media rushed to their copy of the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders."
The New York Times headlined an analysis piece on the incident, "When Soldiers Snap." It reported that in World War II, military doctors believed "that more than 90 days of continuous combat could turn any soldier into a psychiatric causality." With Hasan, the paper stipulated, "that point may have come even before he experienced the reality of war."
Time magazine blamed the stressful environment of Fort Hood, where frequent deployments meant "the kindling was hiding in plain sight." The Washington Post ran a piece on Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where Hasan had served, as indicative of "the ongoing tensions, frustrations and problems in the military health-care system for [returning] troops."
The press keeps mistaking Hasan for Private Ryan, when the closest he'd come to combat was counseling sessions with soldiers. Another New York Times piece raised the possibility that Hasan might have acquired PTSD from the very act of treating those patients — "in contact distress, of a kind."
The obsession with PTSD serves two purposes. First, it fits the media's favorite narrative of soldiers as victims. Here was poor Hasan, brought low like so many others by the unbearable burden of Iraq and Afghanistan. Never mind that PTSD usually results in sleeplessness, flashbacks and — in the extreme — suicide. Hasan is the first victim of PTSD known to jump on a table and allegedly yell "Allahu Akbar" while slaughtering his fellow troops.
Two, it elides uncomfortable questions about Hasan's dual loyalty. He appears to have been most "stressed" by the tension he felt between his obligations as a devout Muslim — as he understood them — and his service in the American military.
Put aside his ongoing contact with radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, formerly a leader of Hasan's mosque. A classmate of Hasan's in a master's program said Hasan told other students he was "a Muslim first and an American second." Hasan titled a PowerPoint presentation he gave in an environmental health seminar a year ago, "Why the War on Terror Is a War on Islam." According to one witness, he said he thought Muslims should "stand up and fight against the aggressor," i.e., us.
By all means investigate this case thoroughly, but don't flinch from the growing evidence that this was an act of treason by a Muslim solider who — in the war on terror — took the other side. The press and the Army brass desperately want it to be anything other than that, the stress of ... something. Perhaps the indignity of petty acts of anti-Muslim harassment, like his car getting keyed.
"Hasan was a soldier, and we have other soldiers who might have the same stress and indicators that he had," the commanding general at Fort Hood, Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, said after the massacre. How insulting to his troops who sacrifice so much fighting terror.
Then there is Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey: "What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here." If Casey says that after 13 people die, imagine what pressures there were in the military to honor Hasan's contribution to diversity before he killed. Hasan's fellow students told The Associated Press that, despite his anti-American rants, "a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal written complaint."
Obviously, Hasan isn't a representative American Muslim, nor is his act an indictment of Muslims in the military. We can acknowledge both those things without laboring to obscure the nature of his crime in childish evasions.

Psalm 55:22 --- you really need to read this. 'Friends are God's way of taking care of us.'
This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:
I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die - I barely managed to coast into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the quickie mart building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.
At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat) , and the gas pump reading $4.95.
I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying 'I don't want my kids to see me crying! ,' so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, 'And you were praying?' That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, 'He heard you, and He sent me.'
I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.
She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan. 1, and finally, in desperation, had called her parents, with whom she had not spok en in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.
So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there. I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, sh e said, 'So, are you like an angel or something?'
This definitely made me cry. I said, 'Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people.'
It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.
Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...
Psalms 55:22 ' Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.'
My instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless, especially for the months left in 2009, and I picked you.
Please pass this to four people you want to be blessed and a copy back to me. Here is the prayer:
'Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now.. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace, In Jesus' precious name. Amen.'
I know I picked more than four -- you can, too. When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, 'Jesus, could You please get that for me.

Subject: When the Music Stopped
WHEN THE MUSIC STOPPED
For those who are not aware: At all military base theaters, the National Anthem is played before the movie begins.
This is written from a Chaplain in Iraq :
I recently attended a showing of 'Superman 3' here at LSA Anaconda. We have a large auditorium we use for movies, as well as memorial services and other large gatherings. As is the custom at all military bases, we stood to attention when the National Anthem began before the main feature. All was going well until three-quarters of the way through The National Anthem, the music stopped.
Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would sit down and yell for the movie to begin. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place.
Here in Iraq , 1,000 Soldiers continued to stand at attention, eyes fixed forward. The music started again and the Soldiers continued to quietly stand at attention. But again, at the same point, the music stopped. What would you expect 1000 Soldiers standing at attention to do?? Frankly, I expected some laughter, and everyone would eventually sit down and wait for the movie to start.
But No!!... You could have heard a pin drop, while every Soldier continued to stand at attention. Suddenly, there was a lone voice from the front of the auditorium, then a dozen voices, and soon the room was filled with the voices of a thousand soldiers, finishing where the recording left off: "And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave."
It was the most inspiring moment I have had in Iraq and I wanted you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you. Remember them as they fight for us!
Pass this along as a reminder to others to be ever in prayer for all our soldiers serving us here at home, and abroad. Many have already paid the ultimate price.

Thanks Judi cole!
This is right on, Judi. It is unbelievable how rapidly this guy has dismantled the capitalist system for the socialist-communist one. And all of the libs still love him. Fortunately swe have fewer of the libs than right thinking Americans. They got what they want, an election win at all costs, and America lost big time.

Subject: A Review of the President's Performance
SEE WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS NARRATIVE.
Dr. Hunt is a social and cultural anthropologist, who has had nearly 30
years experience in planning, conducting, and managing research in the
field of youth studies, and drug and alcohol research. Currently Dr. Hunt
is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Scientific Analysis
and the Principal Investigator on three National Institutes on Health
projects.
Another Failed Presidency
By Geoffrey P. Hunt
Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency
since Woodrow Wilson. In the modern era, we've seen several failed
presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one
strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of
course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into
oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in
disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by
his triumphant overture to China ..
But, Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing
everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in
forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy
Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing
because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed
loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because
he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman
of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama
is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his
intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.
But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a new president
riding in on a wave of unprecedented promise and goodwill have forfeited
his tenure and become a lame duck in six months? His poll ratings are in
free fall. In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five
point advantage. This truly is unbelievable. What's going on?
No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative. No, not a narrative about
himself. He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly
disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated
and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative
that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a
narrative about the American character that intersects with their own
where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the
core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with
the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not
only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are.
Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics
don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike,
Reagan.
But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing
about economics, is historically illiterate, and woefully small minded for
the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one
of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content,
like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover,
he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common
sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work
just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world
we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.
In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this
man, he's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers,
banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital
administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green
job. Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012: "For
those of you I offended, I apologize. For those of you who were not
offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second
term, I could have offended you too."
Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised
a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both
houses of the legislature and the executive. An equally abominable
Congress can get voted out next year. With a new Congress, there's always
hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short
years after that.
Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them. The coyotes howl
but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

SEE WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS NARRATIVE.
