Another wonderful Woody story- Thanks Ramey Hoskins and friend

I received the following from a friend. A good follow up to the other stories about Woody.




Ramey. I didn't like his 3 yards and a cloud of dust and he was tough and had lot diff lifestyles that I didn't like BUT he was a mighty good man in many ways. I came to OSU the same year he did, Had classes under him and never missed a football game during those 4 years. Some of my favorites

Seeing 80,000 plus fans standing up and singing, "Goodbye Woody, We hate to see you go" This was at the tailend of his 1st or 2nd year there when the football team was stil pathetic and it was probably the last game before the Michigan Game. We he won that game and the rest is history !

Bo Schembeckler had played for Woody at Miami, Coached for Woody at Miami and OSU, and of course went on to coach against Woody the rest of his career. I was amazed at the "Hatred" between the two while Bo coached at Mich. I mentioned this to Jim Ruehl a friend of mine who played for Woody and later went on to help another one of Woody's assistants who took over Bowling Green about the same time Bo took over Mich. Jims answer was "Hogwash, every year before the season starts , Woody comes up, Bo comes down and the four of us go out to dinner and talk all night"

Woody had a recruit from Zanesville that was a Dr's son and a very good football player. The Dr told me Woody had been to his house 10 times and had never mentioned football. When it came down to the day that Woody offered him his scholarship, The player was sitting across the table from Woody and The dad was seated at the end of the table. Woody made the offer. His dad jumped in and said Woody, I've been planning for his Education all these years and he really doesn't need a scholarship. Why don't I pay his way and give the scholarship to some one who needs it? Woody turns to the Dr and said, "I didn't offer you the scholarship, I offered it to him and he deserves it !" The kid went to OSU one year. died of Leukemia and of course that would have been the end of the relationship with almost any coach you can name. The Dr told me that Woody never came thru town without calling the day before and telling the Dr's wife, "Make me a Blueberry Pie, I'll be in tomorrow". This was at least 4-5 years after the kid had passed away.

So you may like him or not but he had some positive things about him that few could match. By the way, he carried the facade with Bo right to the end. His last public appearance, he was brought from a Nursing Home, in a wheel chair, to a dinner in his honor. The door opens, Bo walks in and Woody bellows, "What the Hell are you doing here?"

Charlie Rangel... still alive and still robbing the taxpayers blind. What does that make, six decades of theft? Rangel's the only man with a rent-controlled mansion. He's the guy who writes our tax laws but forgot to pay taxes on $75 grand in rental income! So why isn't he the Treasury Secretary? Rangel runs more scams than a Nigerian Banker.



Barney Frank ... he's a better actor than Fred Flintstone. Consider

that he and Dodd caused the whole financial meltdown, and they're not

only not serving time with Bubba and Rodney, they're still heading up

the financial system! Let's all admit it ... Barney Frank slobbers more

than a sheepdog on Novocain.. How did this guy get elected? Oh, that's

right .... he's from Massachusetts. That's the state that elects Mr. Charisma,

John Kerry -- man of the people!



You know, if Senator Dodd were any more crooked, you could open wine

bottles with him. Here's a news flash, Dodd: when your local newspaper calls you a "lying weasel," it may be time to retire. Dodd's involved in more shady deals than the Clintons. Even Rangel looks up to him!



Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, I really respect you ... especially given your upbringing ~ All you've overcome. I heard your birth certificate is an apology from the condom factory. I don't know what makes you so dumb, but it really works for you. Personally, I don't

think you're a fool, but what's my opinion compared to that of thousands of others?



As for President Obama, what can I say? They say President Obama's arrogant and aloof, but I don't agree. Now it's true when you enter the room, you have to kiss his ring. I

don't mind, but he has it in his back pocket. His mind is open to new ideas -- so open that ideas simply pass through it. Obama lies so much, I was actually surprised to find out his first name really was Barack. Just don't ask about his middle name! But Obama was able to set a record ... he actually lied more in 60 days than Bill Clinton.

draped coffin really means ... Here is how to understand the flag that  laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows and  widowers.
Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun  salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the  year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to 
correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times?  You  probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we  learn something new every day!
The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens
trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war forHis divine  guidance.

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen 
Decatur, 'Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still  our country, right or wrong.'

The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie.  It is with their heart that 
they pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America , and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation  under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect  their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.

The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the 
shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers.  For it has been 
through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been  molded.
The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons  
and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first  born.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King  David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the  
Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son  and Holy  Spirit.
The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are 
uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, 'In God We Trust.'

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the 
appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy  today.
There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning.

In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why.
Share  this with the children you love and all others who love what is 
referred  to, the symbol of ' Liberty and Freedom.'

MAYBE  THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER THEIR  DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.  FORWARD  IT; MAYBE SOMEONE WITH THE NECESSARY POWER, OR POLITICAL AND FINANCIAL INFLUENCE, WILL GET IT TO THEM.

George Soros- I don't understand his support of Democrats- Maybe because he is an atheist.

George Soros is estimnated to be worth more than 14 billion dollars. He supports liberal causes as well as the left leaning Snopes.com. This slight family history from Wikipedia, which I suspect that he approved, states that his father was an Esperantist writer and George was taught Esperanto from birth.

That is interesting to me because I was a very small member of the Esperanto Club here in Columbus. I could read and speak a little but my hearing has always been deteriorating and the hardest part of learning a language is hearing it. I admire the people who are multi-lingual: however, I can see God's point in the Tower of Babble. Man is always cocky about his accomplishments until the Almighty God calms him down a bit.

My good friend, John Massey, should be interested in this bit and probably already knows it. John led the Columbus Esperantists for years and He and his wife, Yvette, speak the language fluently as well as they do French and English.

Soros was thirteen years old in March 1944 when Nazi Germany took military control over Hungary.[15] Soros worked for the Jewish Council,[8] which had been established during the Nazi occupation of Hungary to forcibly carry out Nazi and Hungarian government anti-Jewish measures. Soros later described this time to writer Michael Lewis:

The Jewish Council asked the little kids to hand out the deportation notices. I was told to go to the Jewish Council. And there I was given these small slips of paper...It said report to the rabbi seminary at 9 a.m....And I was given this list of names. I took this piece of paper to my father. Soros emigrated to England in 1947 and graduated from the London School of Economics in 1952. While a student of the philosopher Karl Popper, Soros worked as a railway porter and as a waiter. Soros is the founder of Soros Fund Management. In 1970 he co-founded the Quantum Fund with Jim Rogers, which created the bulk of the Soros fortune. Rogers retired from the fund in 1980. Other partners have included Victor Niederhoffer and Stanley Druckenmiller.

In 2007, the Quantum Fund returned almost 32%, netting Soros $2.9 billion.[20]

Snopes receives funding from an undisclosed source. The source is undisclosed
because Snopes refuses to disclose that source. The Democratic Alliance, a

direct funds to an "Internet Propaganda Arm" pushing these views. The Democratic
Alliance has been reported to instruct Fundees to not disclose their funding
source.

For the past few years (www.snopes.com/ has positioned itself, or others have
labeled it, as the 'tell-all final word' on any comment, claim and email. But
for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com. It
is run by a husband and wife team - that's right, no big office of investigators
and researchers, no team of lawyers. It's just a mom-and-pop operation that
began as a hobby. David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley
of Californiastarted the website about 13 years ago and they have no formal
background or experience in investigative research.

The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result
of snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or
issue when in fact they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the
Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom of
various issues.

A few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a
political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across
theInternet, 'supposedly' the Mikkelson's claim to have researched this issue
before posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the
corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when
in fact nothing of the sort 'ever' took place. I personally contacted David
Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the
bottom of this and I gave him Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers - and Bud was
going to give him phone numbers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who
would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In
fact, I learned from Bud Gregg that no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone
with State Farm.

Yet, snopes.com issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the issue as
if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things - not!

Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are very Democratic (party) and
extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals
have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative.
There has been much criticism lately over the Internet with people pointing out
the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their website findings. Gee, what
a shock?

So, I say this now to everyone who goes to snopes.com to get what they think to
be the bottom line fact 'proceed with caution.' Take what it says at face value
and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link
to and read the sources for yourself. Plus, you can always search a subject and
do the research yourself.

I have found this to be true also! Many videos of Obama I tried to verify on
Snopes and they said they were False. Then they gave their liberal slant! I have
suspected some problems with snopes for some time now, but I have only caught
them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left
rudder.

I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and
this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on
their site as a hoax and yet you can go to You tube yourself and find the video
of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not
trustSnopes.com, ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I don't even
trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.

A few conservative speakers on MySpace told me about Snopes.com. A few months
ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was
true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. Anyway just FYI please don't
use Snopes.com anymore for fact checking and make your friends aware of their
political leanings as well. Many people still thinkSnopes.com is neutral and
they can be trusted as factual. We need to make sure everyone is aware that that
is a hoax in itself.
