What happens when you put a light bulb in a suit of armor?
You have a knight light.
What do you get if you cross a witch with an ice cube?
A cold spell!

Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

In case you don't have time to read it / look at this right now:
Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in soda
bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns. When you go to pick up
the trash, and the bottle is shaken just a little - in about 30 seconds
or less it builds up a gas and explodes with enough force to remove some
of your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well.
Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in
the gutter, etc.
Pay attention to this.
1. a plastic bottle with a cap.
2. a little Drano.
3. a little water.
4. a small piece of foil.
5. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.
People are finding these bombs in mailboxes and in their yards,
just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the trash.
But, you'll never make it!!! It takes about 30 seconds to blow after
you move the thing.
Well, this one is real - I checked it via the Snopes link enclosed.

SEAA World Series 14U Girls' Softball- July 19 -25, 2010- A little Gatlinburg nostalgia
Jeanie and I shared a two bedroom condominium at Whispering Pines in Pigeon Forge TN with our son, Jay, and his daughter, Tobey last week. The condo was a wonderful vacation home with jacuzzi and all modern conveniences.
Tobey's Stingray- Leedy 14U team was largely just not up to that level of competition. One pitcher came down with mono and another was hit by a vicious line drive on her pitching wrist early in the competition and the girls became 0-3. They then stopped a team, previously unbeaten in the competition as Tobey pitched a one-hit shutout for a courageous 6-0 Stingrays win. They were then eliminated by an Alabama team who had previously beaten them 8-3 and this time 6-3. The Alabama girls were two time state champions.
The levels of 8U,10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U, and 20U girls must not be older than the stated following-year age during that year of competition. The 14U teams have principally 14 and 15 year old girls. Each team with more older girls on their roster has the important experience edge on the younger teams. I, who played softball until I was 75 two years ago, am amazed at the level of play we see by all of these girls. My sons also played softball as youngsters and as adults. It is as if the young girls were boys with better fundamental groundings. I enjoy the wonderful game of softball as much as any human.
Neither Jeanie nor I took advantage of the myriad of entertainment options in this vacation area. Our entertainment was Stiungray softball, even with the losses. Our girls played hard and well and we are always proud of them.
Most of you probably know that Sieverville and Pigeon Forge and Dollywood seem to be the same tourist town down Rt 441 in TN just less than an hour, traffic permitting, southeast of Knoxville. Some nostalgia for my young bride,Jeanie, and me was a five mile further drive to Gatlinburg. Jeanie and I married January 19, 1952. We had a very small wedding at the Sciotoville Church of Christ with Curt Hess officiating. We postponed a honeymoon except for a quick trip to Chillicothe, OH, 50 miles north of Portsmouth.
The Korean War and the draft were on and, like all young American men when the draft is on at any time, one didn't know how much civilian life they might enjoy before going into service and, mayhaps not returning. One could avoid the draft by enlisting, and I strongly considered joining the Navy as my friends Paul Stamm and Don Ramsey had done. I had quit my factory job at Columbus Coated Fabric and returned to Portsmouth with the plan of enlisting. I reconsidered after talking with a few friends who had been in service during the Big War. Most of them were in no longer than two years, although some had served four or five years. The Marines and Army required a three year enlistment and the Navy and Army Air Force required four. I decided to wait for the draft. We married on the 19th of Janjuary and on the following Monday my friends and neighbors in Portsmouth had a letter stating they expected my presence in the service, but we didn't know when. I worked in WilliamsShoe Factory until going into the Army on my twentieth birthday in November.
That summer, 58 years ago, we honeymooned one night in Gatlinburg in a motel with the name "Fox" in it on our way to Fontana Dam Village on the southwest edge of the Smokies. I stopped at the welcome center going into Gatlinburg and a nice lady contacted a friend because there were no recorded archives listing a motel with "Fox" in the name. The fiftyish lady's friend must have been older like us because she told of "The Fox Place", still there, which was built in 1951. Our stay was in 1952. I drove to the location and went into the lobby which was actually now used for a rafting business. The office attendant said that 80 year old Mrs. Fox lived in one of the condos, now rented for that purpose, and showed me where the lady lives. I knocked and an apparent nurse answered and allowed tme to say hello to Mrs. Fox. The outer building was stone mason and the inner was a then in vogue knotty pine which still was in Mrs. Fox's apartment and which I remembered.
Besides the entertainment of teenage girls playing softball in a "World Series", the little trip down memory lane for old ones now short of memory, was good for Sam and Jeanette.

The Will of God- Thanks Clay Vice
The Will of God:
Concentrate:
Concentrate on this sentence; "To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did." When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something else. Concentrate on this sentence. "The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you." Something good will happen to you today, something that you have been waiting for, or to hear. Please do not break. Just 27 words, God our Father, walk through my house and take away all my worries and illnesses and please watch over and heal my family in Gods' name, Amen. This prayer is so powerful. Pass this on to 12 people, including me. A blessing is coming to you. Does God come first in your life? If so, stop what your doing & send it to 12 people and watch what He does!

Anatomy of a Failing President....
An article from American Thinker by Geoffrey P. Hunt
The following is an interesting article. You might ask how long Dr. Hunt can remain at NIH once the White House gets wind of this article.
Dr. Hunt is a social and cultural anthropologist. He has had nearly 30 years experience in planning, conducting, and managing research in the field of youth studies, and drug and alcohol research. Currently Dr. Hunt is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Scientific Analysis and the Principal Investigator on three National Institutes on Health projects. He is also a writer for American Thinker.

Anatomy of a Failing Presidency
Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson. In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China 20.
But, Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.
But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a new president riding in on a wave of unprecedented promise and goodwill have forfeited his tenure and become a lame duck in six months? His poll ratings are in free fall. In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five point advantage. This truly is unbelievable. What's going on?
No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative. No, not a narrative about himself. He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are. Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike, and Reagan.
But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, and is historically illiterate and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.
In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this man, he's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers, banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green job. Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012: "For those of you I offended, I apologize. For those of you who were not offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second term, I could have offended you too."
Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both houses of the legislature and the executive. An equally abominable Congress can get voted out next year. With a new Congress, there's always hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short years after that.
Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them. The coyotes howl but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

Shoe bomber sentencing- Thanks John Bob Looney!

Subject: Shoe Bomber Sentencing
There should be more judges like this one. Maybe we would be better off.
I think it is a good thing for each of us to read this. The judge really hits the nail on the head, and we can all use a refresher. Thanks for taking the time.
Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?
Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?
Didn't think so.!! Everyone should hear what the judge had to say.
Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.
Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say His response:
After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his 'allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah,' defiantly stating, 'I think I will not apologize for my actions,' and told the court 'I am at war with your country.'
Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:
Judge Young: 'Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.
On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)
On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.
The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.
This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.
Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.
You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier, you are not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.
So war talk is way out of line in this court You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: 'You're no big deal.'
You are no big deal.
What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?
I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.
It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom, so that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.
We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.
Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.
See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America . That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.
Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.
So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young. Pass this around. Everyone should and needs to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home.

This is very interesting for Christians and all USA citizens to peruse. There are one quarter to one third of the world population acclaimed to be Christian. Here in the USA, we have allowed fourteen per cemnt who are of no religion or others to declare acceptability in our schools, courts, etc. in America.
I support the Tea Party movementr and I believe that the ACLU has been a gathering place for the fourteen per cent dissenters.

Muslim Heritage- Not in America- o !
Barack OBAMA, during his Cairo speech, said: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America 's story."
AN AMERICAN CITIZEN'S RESPONSE:
Dear Mr. Obama:
Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.
Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.
Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?
Declaration of Independence ?
Bill of Rights?
Didn't think so.
Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.
Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?
Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.
There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.
Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?
Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.
Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th,
2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June
4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.
And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.
And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .
That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America

Giggle- Clay Vice
Once upon a time there were two brothers. One brother was very mischievous, always getting into trouble. The other brother, however, was very good. He was always kind to animals, helped elderly neighbors, and led an exemplary life.
As time went on, the brothers stayed in touch but were never close. The evil brother became a heavy drinker and a womanizer. The other brother was a devoted husband and father and supported many charities.
One day the evil brother died. Then, after a few years, the good brother passed away. He went to heaven and was rewarded with a happy afterlife. One day he went to God and asked, "Where is my brother? He died before me, but I have not seen him here in heaven."
God replied, "As you know, your brother led an evil life, so he is not spending eternity here in heaven. He has been sent elsewhere."
"I'm sorry to hear that," the good brother replied. "But I do miss him and wish I could see him again."
"You can see him if you wish," God said. "I will give you the power to gaze into hell."
So the power was granted and the good brother gazed into hell. Before long he saw his brother sitting on a bench. In one arm he held a keg of beer, and in the other he cradled a gorgeous young blond.
The good brother turned to God and said, "I can't believe what I'm seeing. I have found my brother, and he has a keg of beer in one arm and a beautiful woman in the other. Surely, hell cannot be that bad."
God explained. "Things are not always as they seem. The keg has a hole in it. The blond doesn't."

I AM THANKFUL: FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME .
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MANY E-MAILS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.
SEND THIS TO SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT. I JUST DID.
Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

NATO approach by Dawood
A slightly radical approach to NATO from my good friend in the Middle East, Dwaood Kahn aka Dave Kaelin. Slightly bawdy language for us of the faint hearted, but saying things the non-politically correct way.

Why are our Armed Forces still in Europe?

We need strategic relocation.
Europe needs to pay for their own defense. See how they like being out from under our Defense umbrella. The cowards would have to foot the bill and they’d have to back their talk with more than “We disagree with America.”
I’d say out of Europe altogether unless they want to pay us for having our troops there. Europe should be paying the US for their defense. As should South Korea. We should not be paying them for the privilege of defending them. I’ve never understood the concept of renting bases from Germany or the RoK. We’re there or were there to keep their sorry asses from being invaded. They should have been paying us.
I’d say withdraw from NATO and form a separate treaty organization with Australia and Great Britain.
We should withdraw completely from Saudi Arabia unless they start paying us for their protection with billions of barrels of oil.
We should negotiate a base in Ethiopia. Hell, at least they’re Christian. We should negotiate a base with Israel and all of our aid should be dependent on their allowance of our use of their lands. Put a base right square in the Negev. Negotiate another base with Jordan and one with Egypt. We give aid to all of these countries. That gives us an eye for Europe. A quick hop across the Med and boom ——–> Italy and Greece. I’d even be for placing a base in the Christian areas of Lebanon to counter the Iranian Rev Guards, Quds Force and Hizbollah.
We should negotiate a base with India as well. In Hindu or Christian areas. Stay out of Muzzie areas of India.
Keep a small force in Afghanistan and a small force in Iraq for the foreseeable future but draw down the rest and let those countries build themselves.
That puts us strategically located across the globe and gives us some damn fine opportunities for sightseeing.
The best thing that we could do is to get out of Europe.
We should declare war on Pakistan and let India go in with us and kick their asses.
Solve Pakistan and Afghanistan is solved. It’s that freakin’ simple.
That will scare the shit out of Iran and China as well as put Russia on notice.
We screw around way too often. End this shit. NOW!

I realize that you sometimes oversimplify for the shock effect, Dawood; however, I wish our simpleton elitists in the State Department would just get things right for once.
Japan and China would be powerful allies except that I doubt that they trust Hilary and her crew. Those State Department “officials” are not voted in or out, but I want to see the head cut off of this USA governmental snake.
Current “ins” are trying to defame the Tea Party now, but I am for TP and major change!
Please come back home and write and influence these people Dave! You could even become a politician in the finest sense. I wouldn’t mind being a rep; however I am 77 now. We need honest young blood to begin representing America’s loyal citizenry.

New footprints- Clay Vice
I think this is beautiful and I just wanted to share it with you !!
GOD IS GOOD!
ALL THE TIME !!!!
This new version of the "footprints" story really caught me off guard at the end...What a blessing.
IT'S AWESOME!!!
Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.
But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling, His consistently.
You and Jesus are walking as true friends!
This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.
Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.
This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.
Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.
This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.
You are amazed and shocked.Your dream ends. Now you pray:
"Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You."
"That is correct."
"And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely."
"Very good. You have understood everything so far."
When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way."
"Precisely."
"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."
There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.
"You didn't know? It was then that we danced!"
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,4.
Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny isn't it? Are you laughing? Are you thinking? Spread the Word and give thanks to the Lord for He is good!
Funny isn't it, when you go to forward this message, how many on your list are not receiving it because you're not sure they believe in anything?
Sad.
It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Who you have in your life that counts.... Think about that.
I ASKED GOD
I asked for a flower,
He gave me a garden.
I asked for a tree,
He gave me a forest.
I asked for a river,
He gave me an ocean.
I asked for a friend,
He gave me "YOU."
Send this to whomever you think of as a friend.....as I just did.

A keeper from a wonderful Sarah Taylor
Subject: Here's a Keeper
This is one of the kindest things you may ever see…….
It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies..' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much..............
By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
Love, God
Forward to all your friends, including me……
And don't tell me you're too busyfor this. Don't you know the phrase 'stop and smell the flowers'?
Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrows keep you Human,
Failures keep you Humble,
Success keeps you Glowing,

Six Boys And Thirteen Hands... Story from the year 2000.....
Each year I am hired to go to Washington, DC, with the eighth grade class from Clinton, WI, where I grew up, to videotape their trip. I greatly enjoy visiting our nation’s capitol, and each year I take some special memories back with me. This fall's trip was especially memorable.
On the last night of our trip, we stopped at the Iwo Jima memorial. This memorial is the largest bronze statue in the world and depicts one of the most famous photographs in history -- that of the six brave soldiers raising the American Flag at the top of a rocky hill on the island of Iwo Jima, Japan, during WW II.
Over one hundred students and chaperones piled off the buses and headed towards the memorial. I noticed a solitary figure at the base of the statue, and as I got closer he asked, “Where are you guys from?”
I told him that we were from Wisconsin... “Hey, I’m a cheese head, too! Come gather around, Cheese heads, and I will tell you a story.”
(James Bradley just happened to be in Washington, DC, to speak at the memorial the following day. He was there that night to say good night to his dad, who had passed away. He was just about to leave when he saw the buses pull up.. I videotaped him as he spoke to us, and received his permission to share what he said from my videotape. It is one thing to tour the incredible monuments filled with history in Washington, DC, but it is quite another to get the kind of insight we received that night.)
When all had gathered around, he reverently began to speak.
(Here are his words that night.)
“My name is James Bradley and I’m from Antigo, Wisconsin... My dad is on that statue, and I just wrote a book called ‘Flags of Our Fathers,’ which is #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list right now. It is the story of the six boys you see behind me.”
“Six boys raised the flag. The first guy putting the pole in the ground is Harlon Block. Harlon was an all-state football player. He enlisted in the Marine Corps with all the senior members of his football team.. They were off to play another type of game. A game called ‘War.’ But it didn’t turn out to be a game. Harlon, at the age of 21, died with his intestines in his hands. I don’t say that to gross you out, I say that because there are people who stand in front of this statue and talk about the glory of war. You guys need to know that most of the boys in Iwo Jima were 17, 18, and 19 years old - and it was so hard that the ones who did make it home never even would talk to their families about it.”
(He pointed to the statue) “You see this next guy? That’s Rene Gagnon from New Hampshire. If you took Rene’s helmet off at the moment this photo was taken and looked in the webbing of that helmet, you would find a photograph... a photograph of his girlfriend. Rene put that in there for protection because he was scared. He was 18 years old. It was just boys who won the battle of Iwo Jima... Boys. Not old men.”
“The next guy here, the third guy in this tableau, was Sergeant Mike Strank. Mike is my hero. He was the hero of all these guys. They called him the ‘old man’ because he was so old. He was already 24. When Mike would motivate his boys in training camp, he didn’t say, ‘Let’s go kill some Japanese’ or ‘Let’s die for our country.’ He knew he was talking to little boys. Instead he would say, ‘You do what I say, and I’ll get you home to your mothers.’”
“The last guy on this side of the statue is Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian from Arizona... Ira Hayes was one who walked off Iwo Jima... He went into the White House with my dad. President Truman told him, ‘You’re a hero.’ He told reporters, ‘How can I feel like a hero when 250 of my buddies hit the island with me and only 27 of us walked off alive?’”
“So you take your class at school, 250 of you spending a year together having fun, doing everything together. Then all 250 of you hit the beach, but only 27 of your classmates walk off alive. That was Ira Hayes. He had images of horror in his mind. Ira Hayes carried the pain home with him and eventually died dead drunk, face down at the age of 32 (ten years after this picture was taken).”
“The next guy, going around the statue, is Franklin Sousley from Hilltop, Kentucky. A fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy. His best friend, who is now 80, told me, ‘Yeah, you know, we took two cows up on the porch of the Hilltop General Store. Then we strung wire across the stairs so the cows couldn’t get down. Then we fed them Epsom salts. Those cows crapped all night.’ Yes, he was a fun-lovin’ hillbilly boy. Franklin died on Iwo Jima at the age of 19. When the telegram came to tell his mother that he was dead, it went to the Hilltop General Store. A barefoot boy ran that telegram up to his mother’s farm. The neighbors could hear her scream all night and into the morning. Those neighbors lived a quarter of a mile away.”
“The next guy, as we continue to go around the statue, is my dad, John Bradley, from Antigo, Wisconsin, where I was raised. My dad lived until 1994, but he would never give interviews. When Walter Cronkite’s producers or the New York Times would call, we were trained as little kids to say, ‘No, I’m sorry, sir, my dad’s not here. He is in Canada fishing. No, there is no phone there, sir. No, we don’t know when he is coming back.’ My dad never fished or ever went to Canada. Usually, he was sitting there right at the table eating his Campbell’s soup. But we had to tell the press that he was out fishing. He didn’t want to talk to the press.”
“You see, like Ira Hayes, my dad didn’t see himself as a hero. Everyone thinks these guys are heroes, ‘cause they are in a photo and on a monument. My dad knew better. He was a medic. John Bradley from Wisconsin was a caregiver. In Iwo Jima he probably held over 200 boys as they died. And when boys died in Iwo Jima, they writhed and screamed, without any medication or help with the pain.”
“When I was a little boy, my third grade teacher told me that my dad was a hero. When I went home and told my dad that, he looked at me and said, ‘I want you always to remember that the heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who did not come back. Did NOT come back.’”
“So that’s the story about six nice young boys. Three died on Iwo Jima, and three came back as national heroes. Overall, 7,000 boys died on Iwo Jima in the worst battle in the history of the Marine Corps. My voice is giving out, so I will end here. Thank you for your time.”
Suddenly, the monument wasn’t just a big old piece of metal with a flag sticking out of the top. It came to life before our eyes with the heartfelt words of a son who did indeed have a father who was a hero. Maybe not a hero for the reasons most people would believe, but a hero nonetheless.
We need to remember that God created this vast and glorious world for us to live in, freely, but also at great sacrifice.
Let us never forget from the Revolutionary War to the current War on Terrorism and all the wars in-between that sacrifice was made for our freedom.
Remember to pray praises for this great country of ours and also pray for those still in murderous unrest around the world.
STOP and thank God for being alive and being free at someone else’s sacrifice.
God Bless You and God Bless America...
REMINDER: Everyday that you can wake up free, it’s going to be a great day.
One thing I learned while on tour with my 8th grade students in DC that is not mentioned here is... that if you look at the statue very closely and count the number of ‘hands’ raising the flag, there are 13. When the man who made the statue was asked why there were 13, he simply said the 13th hand... was the hand of God.
Thanks good friend!

I loved watching Mel Turpin play and loved the early 80's UK teams. Just a lot of talent in the front court.
I didn't know him, but he always came across as a someone who was very personable. Tough news to hear tonight.

Melvin is one of the more under-appreciated players in UK history, IMO. As an earlier poster mentioned, he was a late-bloomer in HS, and even though he was a legitimate, hometown, big man prospect, he was not a very ballyhooed recruit, as I recall, especially signing in the class immediately after Sam Bowie, who was at or near the top of everyone's recruiting list, and coming off a good freshman season. I don't remember that much being expected of Melvin. He and Sam ended up in the same senior class due to Sam's injury.
Bowie had a star-crossed basketball career, to say the least. He was a big man with unique talents. He had good outside shooting touch. He was a great passer. He missed 2 full years at UK due to a lower-leg stress fracture. He (and Mel) were starters on the great 1984 team, which unfortunately is now best known, by most, for 3-33. Sam himself is best-known, outside of UK fans, for the 1984 NBA draft. It is certainly not his fault that the player picked immediately after him went on to achieve such heights. Sam's injury problems persisted into his pro career. I think he once suffered a broken leg in a pre-game layup line, with no contact from anybody. Since his playing days ended, Sam has been a fine representative of his alma mater. I've got nothing bad to say about Sam Bowie.
I said all that to say this: Melvin Turpin had a better UK playing career than Sam Bowie. I've had this argument with a lot of folks over the years, even on a call-in show years ago with Dick Gabriel. I'm not saying he had more talent, but he did more. It's not penalizing Sam for being hurt, but giving Melvin credit for what he did. During the two years Sam was out, Melvin blossomed. Even though those two teams had plenty of talent, the offense very often resembled a clogged toilet (stolen from Simmons' line about this year's Celtics). Melvin was a rock. He could catch the ball with his back to the basket and put it in the hole, a talent that Sam lacked. As a tandem in '84, he was still the more reliable scorer. Again, the point is not to knock Sam, but to give Melvin his due.
As the year's have gone by, I think Melvin's rep has suffered even more than Sam's. Those of us who were fans at that time know all too well his battles with his weight and struggles in the classroom. Sometimes I think UK fans remember those traits more than his playing production. Away from the protecting environment of UK, he was ill-equipped to deal with the demands of professional basketball. He was unceremoniously, and with great media coverage, dealt from the Jazz to a European team. He became the butt of jokes. He was the NBA's token fat guy. I think that is unfair. The guy could play.
More than that, the guy was a good guy. Along with LutherCat and a few other still-close friends, we lived at Keeneland Hall during Melvin's playing days. I can't say we were more than acquaintances, but I had occasion to speak to him several times and he couldn't have been a nicer guy. I can't say that for the rest of players, and that's not to knock them, either. If I had been a UK BB player in those days, Lord knows what a tool I would have been. No, it's to Melvin's credit he always had a smile on his face and would always respond when spoken to. I don't know that I've ever witnessed a more emotional scene in Rupp Arena than the 1984 senior day. In those days, after the senior was introduced and jumped through their hoop, they would join their family at that baseline corner and take a lap together around the court. (Wished they still did that.) When Melvin came out, his mother was waiting in a wheelchair, and Melvin pushed her around the court, with that big smile on his face. If that didn't make you tear up, your heart was made of something harder than stone. NBC televised that game, and Al McGuire talked about it for years afterward. (I looked for a YouTube of that event to attach here, but couldn't find it.)
Who knows what drove Melvin to end his life today.....I hope he is in a better place now. May God comfort and bless his family and friends during this difficult time. Thank you, Melvin, for the great memories.

Good post, blue.
As a Lexington kid, I've always held special fondness for the guys from Lexington who got to play for the Big Blue. Mel Turpin was one of those guys.
This is just SO sad. My heart goes out to his family, but I'm sure the good Lord has told Mel, "Welcome Home, Son."

largebluej said about everything I was going to say. That was a terrific post!
He was and is one of the most underappreciated players from UK's past. He along with Bowie were some of the first big men who could step outside and hit the jump shot. He had a really soft touch around the rim and could at times score at will. I will always remember his 42 point games against Tennessee and later against Georgia in the SEC tournament. He couldn't be stopped those two games. That senior day game was really emotional. I will always remember Turpin pushing his mother in her wheelchair around the Rupp Arena floor. I believe they said that was the first time she had seen Turpin play. By all accounts he truly was a gentle giant. As good as he was on the playing floor he was even better off of it. I hope his family know and realizes how much the UK family of fans loved and appreciated him and take some comfort in that his legacy at UK will always be top notch. R.I.P. Melvin Turpin

I am so, so very sad. I came out to my car yesterday and when I got in and heard the news, I just had to sit there for a bit.
I can't help but to think of his family and friends and what they are feeling right now.
Marsha - my thoughts are with you. I know you guys were close.

My morning newscast reported that he'd allegedly become despondent over his declining health and other difficulties associated with his diabetes.
Such a sad, sad way to go out. RIP, Big Mel.

Mel was a few years before my time, but reading other folks' posts (and hearing my dad's thoughts) helps me realize the loss a little better. Always terrible when we lose a Cat. Always terrible when we lose someone so young for such baffling reasons. R.I.P.

Mel was a family friend and we are all very very sad about this terrible tragedy.
We were all concentrating on his wife who has been struggling with serious health issues but I for one never noticed that Mel was having any problems.
Growing up and being around him he was always a big jovial giant to me. Someone I looked up to. I still have a few of his NBA sweatshirts that I still wear from time to time even though they swallow me.
I already miss him and can do nothing more but sit in shock at the exit of my hero.
He had his struggles, hell the guy gave me the No Drugs talk and told me about his struggles and what mistakes he made.
I'll miss you Mel, very much. God speed my friend.

As others have said, the news shocked and saddened me. Mel was always one of my favorites, and as others have said, very underrated in UK basketball lore. I remember one game against Alabama, maybe in '83 or '84, he outscored their whole team at halftime. Poor Mel. You will be sorely missed. RIP Dipper.

Updated story. Apparently it was a self afflicted gunshot wound. Also a member of his family said Turpin didn't have any financial problems as a reason for his suicide. We will probably never really know what caused him to do this.

While we were dating, my wife was on the first aid squad at Rupp. I went to Lexington for most weekend home games, and we could go in through the player's entrance and past the dressing rooms to the elevators. I remember several times while leaving after the game that Melvin would be outside the dressing room talking to young kids and signing autographs. He seemed to be really enjoying that. I'll always remember that more than his playing, which was remarkable also.

I have been sad and at such a loss for words. This is the second friend that I have lost in this manner. I did consider Melvin a friend. You never were around him when he couldn't and didn't make you laugh. I loved to hear him laugh too.
I just found that great picture of Melvin with our beloved Mel from a tailgate a few years back.
When UK had that 100 year signing a few years back Melvin and I reconnected after not having seen each other in at least 18 years. The day of that signing I grabbed some old pictures of me with some players to take with me to show the guys to remind them who I was.....believe it or not folks I don't look like I did at 21-22 years old. I found the whole pack of pictures that I had taken of Mel's last home game. I had been to his house that day and taken pictures of his mom all dressed up. It was the only time she made it to see him play. I am so thankful I took those pictures.
Anyway when I got to Melvin that day. He was a hoot as usual. I had to jog his memory a little ......believe me that Big Dipper nickname wasn't all about bball....he knew LOTS of females. I showed him the pictures of his mom and he said he didn't have any so I gave all those to him. I got all kinds of hugs and such..that is Melvin. The next day at Rupp I run into Mel again and his friend asked me if I was the one who gave him the pictures of his mother. I said yes and he said you will never know what you did for him. He said Melvin run straight to walgreens and made enlargements and copies for all his siblings. They had no pictures of their mother. Soft hearted Mel.
I remember now talking to Melvin on the phone not too long after that and he was talking about the diabetes and how they were having trouble regulating it and he mentioned meds that he was on. And he told me that he took meds for depression and that he had for years. I never knew. The other friend I lost this way was the same way. Depression is ofter a private battle. So many people speculate and want to know what sent someone over the edge....money? health? family? There is no straw that broke the camel's back often times. I think they get sick and tired of feeling like they do. My other friend used to tell me,"Marsha, I know I have everything in the world going for me but sometimes I just don't want to get up." Can you imagine battling a feeling like that for years and years?
I don't want to think of Melvin feeling that way. It hurts to do so. He gave so much joy. I hope he is at peace and resting in the arms of God.

Very shocking, and very sad news. Any death in the family is horrible, suicide is even harder. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Didn't want to quote the whole thing, but, that was an excellent read. Thanks for posting it.

Your Social Security Card . . . read it carefully.
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this It's easy to check this out if you don't believe it. Be sure to show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what, and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are facts!
Social Security Cards, up until the 1980s, expressly stated that the number and card were NOT to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway, and the message was removed.
When Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) program, he promised:
1.) That participation in the program would be completely voluntary;
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the program;
Now 7.65% on the first $90,000.
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year;
No longer tax deductible.
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund would therefore only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other government program;
Under Johnson, the money was moved to the general fund and spent for other purposes.
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore, up to 85% of your Social Security benefits can be taxed.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security benefit payment each month, only to find that we are being taxed on 85% of the money we originally paid to the Federal Government to be 'put away' you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democrat €“controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democrat Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democrat Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US.
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: Jimmy Carter and the Democrat party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65 they began to receive Social Security payments! The Democrat Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original (FICA) contract, the Democrats turned around and told you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! Bovine Scattar!!!
The worst part about it is that uninformed citizens believe it, and believe that the Democrats are "for the people." Bovine Scattar!!!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted, and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not. Some democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so, but it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to? Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.
AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM.
Bovine Scattar!!!
On 11/2/2010, we must end this madness. Don'€™t forget to vote these bums out of office.
Final note: All earlier references in this email thread to the €Å“democratic party†have been edited here to read €Å“'democrat€' party. The party that calls itself '€Å“democrats'€ is anything but democratic!!

1.) That participation in the program would be completely voluntary;
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the program;
Now 7.65% on the first $90,000.
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year;
No longer tax deductible.
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund would therefore only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other government program;

Out of one person, put it in another, and

NASA and the Muslims- Bolden's strange assignment as head of NASA
And this fellow, Bolden, with the Muslim assignment from our Muslim president is heading up NASA? Not a Christian nation? The Muslims live here and want to build a mosque at the foot of the World Towers which the Muslims bombed out with our own planes. They also killed about 3,000 hard working Americans in doing so. Aren't they and o clever and aren't we all fools for electing this current pusa?

Thanks Sam, I have been hearing a lot about this on the radio down here. Many retirees are in an uproar over this as we Feds get to pay only 28% of our health insurance premiums while the Fed Govt is now paying 72% of our health insurance premiums. Then there was a rumor going around that the Fed Govt wanted to pay only 50% and the rest of us Fed retirees, employees and military will pay 50%; in order words, 50 to 50 by both.
Now I am hearing that we all will have to add our insurance premiums as income to our yearly income. Wow! Yes, i subscribe to the Kiplinger Tax Letter too and read the 13 tax changes for 2010. This tax letter is also online if anyone subscribes to it. They are usually correct in what they write too. I also get J. K. Lassier Tax Letter and they have even more information in their tax letter.
Obama and Congress are going to put this country in a rich and poor country eventually. I can see my income going down, my savings being used by and with no cost of living adjustment for another couple years, we all will be in the same boat. Then NARFE is working to fight against a proposal by some Congressmen who want to tap into our retirement annunities. GOD, if this happens, we all will in a big sink hole!!! With prices going up, real estate taxes, transportation, etc, what will happen to our Free America??? Fairfax County where I live is one of the highest counties to live in in the whole USA. We nearly 1.4 million people in the county. City of Alexandria is now expanding and they currently have over 100,000 people living in the City of Alexandria; the city is stillbuilding houses, condos, etc and selling them at high stakes--nothing cheap here.
Well, we all have to vote this congressman and senators out of office and get back to basics for our country's sake. It is a sin when you call Dover AFB in DE and on the recording English is the second choice.
What is wrong with our officials. Are we giving into the Spanish speaking people many of whom are illegal immigrants here?? Anyway, sure makes me mad.
I am lucky as I have no children or grandchildren who will be picking up the pieces after this President is long gone. Reversing these laws made by Congress takes a long time and it may be years before anything is really straightened out.
Anyway, take care and thanks for this update.

The gang of thugs are stealing from us rich (I think not, just the working class) and giving to those who won't work. It isn't taking this donkey long to ruin America along with Pelosi, Dingy Hary and the other gathered thugs.
Vote 'em out in 10 and 12!

2011 W-2 Tax Forms and Obamacare
Should you want to verify this, go to http://www.thomas.gov/, enter "HR 3590"
in the search box and look for "CRS Summaries." This is what you'll find.
Title IX Revenue Provisions—Subtitle A: Revenue Offset
"(Sec. 9002) Requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee
the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage
that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of
contributions to flexible spending arrangements)."
Starting in 2011—next year—the W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be
increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are provided.
It doesn't matter if you're retired. Your gross income WILL go up by the amount
of insurance your employer paid for. So you’ll be required to pay taxes on a larger
sum of money that you actually received. Take the tax form you just finished for
2009 and see what $15,000.00 or $20,000.00 additional gross income does to
your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a
much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for
fifteen (15) percent that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases,
but it's not really a "tax increase" as such, it a redefinition of your taxable income.
Also, go to Kiplinger's and read about the thirteen (13) tax changes for 2010 that
could affect you.
Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you forward this to every
single person in your address book. People have the right to know the truth because
an election is coming in November. So vote intelligently, based on your values.
But also adjust your tax withholding, or increase your savings, so that you aren't
surprised and put in a jam when your federal income taxes are due on April 15, 2012.
Fight organized crime! Re-elect no one.

Sincerely,
Judi Cole
