Past 5500 now, agent Clay!

It is not the greatest number of hits for any blog, but I appreciate all who spend a little time here with me.  Some very good emailers have contributed the good stuff to this blog and I also certainly appreciate them.

I am a sinning Christian and that is not what God intended with us, but He is well aware of the frailties of his human creation.

I am disappointed that there have been a total of only two comments besides the few I add occasionally hoping to seed more. 

Maybe 10 to 20 hits a day tell me that some of you are reading.

The doctors are happy with Cory's progress even though it seems like to us to be very slow, they say his body has to heal at its own pace. How wonderful to hear from you Eleia. I am sure that you are a great help to your team even in your first year there.




In anything and expecially in writing, Eleia the cliche' "To begin is half done" is so true. You have the self-inspired drive and the will to do this and I certainly encouraage you to do so.



You might chronologically, or in some such fashion, begin to jot down an outline of events which have motivated you to write the book. After that, it will be easy for you to fill in the spaces.



The Kentucky Lady Wildcats and the men are having great years thus far. Your performances there have put a wonderful foundation in for the lady's program.



Incidentally, our great nephew's mother told us yesterday afternoon in the ICU of Dayton's Mianmi Valley Hospital that the encouragement for their son's recovery from a one vehicle accident was so encouraging, even one from Bacelona, Spain. Jeanie and I thought that might be our friend, Eleia. Thanks young lady.



The pics are great. Your experiences will richly reward your life as a young person. Keep right on keepin' on.

I dont want to write a novel, more like an inspirational, autobiography, but not autobiography directly. So how would you advise me to get started? What do I need to make my book a reality? How do I get it published, so forth and so on.

Cory's Injuries- Early Monday 1-18-10 From Sam

AOL EmailMarge, I know that you have come through the brain surgery ordeal and it wasn't easy. Of course this boy is probably 16 and you were an early 60's girl.




We were at the hospital yesterday and the dad, Mickey Lundy had just been encouraged by the brain surgeon's opinion that Cory was showing good vitals and brain activity. You probably know that the first 72 hours after a head injury to the brain are extremely important. The accident occurred at about 5:15 PM Friday so that tomorrow evening will mark the first 72 hours. Cory was doing so well yesterday that they began weaning him away from so much medicine to help him gain consciousness out of the coma. However, in a couple of hours, they had to restore the medication because he was regaining too quickly and trying to get out of his restraints.



Mickey took Jeanie and me into Cory's private ICU room. He is lying there unconscious as he has been since the accident. He doesn't look badly cut up, but has a swollen shiner on his right eye and a tube coming off the top of this head. Of course his head has a turban bandage. The stomach opening showed no apparent damage, but he has a couple of broken facial bones which they don't believe will require surgery. His left eye is swollen but not blue like the right one. His arms and legs appear to have no serious damage.



Laramie, Cory's mother's brother, Chad stayed with him through Saturday night so that Mick and Laramie could go home for some rest. He said that at one point the nurse had him hold Cory's arms down and he opened the left eye but was otherwise not responsive.



There is such a demonstrated evidence of his school and community support that my sisters Sharon and Sandy are buoyed up by their love. The waiting room was full of young classmates and friends. Likewise We obviously are and appreciate the concerns of our email friends. Laramie mentioned there was even some email response from as far as Barcelona, Spain.



Mick and Laramie expect a busy day today as the surgeons want them in the room when the youngster comes out of the coma. Prayers are bringing encouragement to the family. Please continue. Our Lord knows and does best in each situation.

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to



refer to it someday. Maybe we should all take some of his



advice! A corporate attorney sent the following out to the



employees in his company:





1.... Do not sign the back of your credit



cards. Instead, put 'PHOTO ID REQUIRED.'



2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card



accounts, DO NOT put the complete account



number on the 'For' line. Instead, just put



the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it.



3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone.



If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address.



If you do not have a PO Box, use your work



address.. Never have your SS# printed



on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have It printed, anyone can get it.



4.> Place the contents ofyour wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both



sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know



what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers



and phone numbers to call and cancel..... Keep the photocopy



in a safe place.



I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here



or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud



that's committed on us in stealing a Name, address,

was stolen last month... Within a week, the thieves ordered



an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA



credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway



computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my



driving record information online, and more.



But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case



this happens to you or someone you know:



5. We have been told we should cancel our credit



cards immediately.



But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card



numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you



can find them.



6. File a police report immediately



in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were



stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent,



and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there



ever is one).



But here's what is perhaps most important of all:

7. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately



to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social

phone to authorize new credit.

Sadness needing much prayer- Cory Lundy

For all who believe in prayer, please offer up the name of Cory Lundy. My sister, Sharon's and her deceased husband Don Lundy's grandson.



Sharon's email message just received and her phone call, explains as much as we know. He was alone in his truck which went off the highway and into a tree which prevented him from going into a ravine.



Don was and Sharon and all kegleys are so proud of this young man, Cory, for many more reasons than the following story. A Dayton TV station showed the play of the night from an early season Friday evening, which was again shown as the top play of the year from the top ten high school football plays of the year there in Dayton. The play showed Cory making unbelievable twists and turns in taking the football into the end zone for his team in a victory against a rival.

Last evening my grandson Cory was in a horrible car accident. He had

two surgeries - one to relieve pressure on his brain and the other in

the abdominal area. He is in ICU at a hospital in Dayton in critical

condition. The next three days are going to be very critical. He is

for your prayers for Cory. When we walked into the waiting room, it

was amazing to see all of these people. There were so many you

couldn't even move. All of Cory, Mick, Laramie and Kayla's friends had

already gathered and no one was about to leave until he came out of

surgery and the doctors said they had to go home. And even though our

hearts were broken, those people brought comfort. I know you will have

the Lundy family in your prayers and that brings me great comfort.
