Corn on the Cob for a Crowd (UNCLASSIFIED)
Never heard of it but awesome idea!
For all you Bar-B-Q-er's out there. This is just a fantastic idea!
The Best Way to Cook Corn on the Cob for a Crowd?
It's Cooler Corn
Photograph by Scott DeSimon
Am I the only person who hasn't heard of "cooler corn"? As an
obsessive food nerd, you'd expect that I would have at least heard of it,
but over the weekend I was blindsided by the simple genius of this method
for cooking loads of corn on the cob (which is still in season, no matter
that summer already seems like a sad memory) perfectly.
I was hepped to it while visiting my family in Maine . Short story:
We like corn on the cob. And with eight adults at the table, that means a
couple of dozen ears. We would have used the lobster pot to cook them all,
but the lobster pot was busy steaming lobster. (And please don't spell it
"lobstah". It's not funny.)
Then my sister, a capable Maine cook with years of camping
experience says "let's do cooler corn!" Before I can ask "what the hell is
cooler corn?" a Coleman cooler appears from the garage, is wiped clean, then
filled with the shucked ears. Next, two kettles-full of boiling water are
poured over the corn and the top closed.
Then nothing.
When we sat down to dinner 30 minutes later and opened it, the corn
was perfectly cooked. My mind was blown. And I'm told that the corn will
remain at the perfect level of doneness for a couple of hours.
Turns out, Cooler Corn is pretty well known among the outdoorsy set
(I found a handful of mentions on various camping websites). But for those
of us who avoid tents as much as possible, it's perfect for large barbecues
and way less of mess than grilling. In fact, I may even buy another cooler
just so I'm ready for next summer. Now that I'm in the know.

For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Googled Gary Hubbell- SamKat
Many check authenticity of email messages through Snopes. I don't. Snopes is a couple sponsored by George Soros, billionaire leftist, who stick to their liberal agenda. I merely googled Gary Hubbell, Aspen Colorado and received this information.
Honestly, I ignore Snopes.

The populaces of Cuba, Germany, Iraq, and so many others have let the demons take over their countries and rule as they liked it. We can't let that happen in America and the Tea Party is my personal best hope to resist obama.

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America 's future.
Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America 's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.
That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America . Here's why.
Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.
Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips - they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.
Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and "disabilities." Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts.
We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.
But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest.
A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union - whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense - is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.
Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 "FANTASTIC" years--- the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

God's 26 guards ... Thanks Ramey Hoskins!
God's 26 Guards- gives you chills!!!
Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and
Then just put it on a list and said, 'I'll pray for them later'?
Or has anyone ever called you and said,
'I need you to pray for me, I have this need?'
Read the following story that was sent to me and
May it change the way that you may think about prayer
and also the way you pray.. You will be blessed by this.....
A missionary on furlough told this true story while
Visiting his home church in Michigan .
'While serving at a small field hospital in Africa ,
Every two weeks I traveled by bicycle
Through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies..
This was a journey of two days and
Required camping overnight at the halfway point..
On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city
Where I planned to collect money from a bank,
Purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin
My two -day journey back to the field hospital.
Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting,
One of whom had been seriously injured.
I treated him for his injuries and at the same time
Talked to him about the Lord.
I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and
Arrived home without incident....
Two weeks later I repeated my journey
Upon arriving in the city,
I was approached by the young man I had treated.
He told me that he had known I carried
Money and medicines.
He said, 'Some friends and I followed you in to the jungle, Knowing you would camp overnight.
We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs..
But just as we were about to move into your camp,
We saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.
At this, I laughed and said that I was
Certainly all alone in that jungle campsite..
The young man pressed the point, however, and said,
'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards,
My friends also saw them, and we all counted them.
It was because of those guards that
We were afraid and left you alone.'
At this point in the sermon,
One of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened.. The missionary told the congregation the date, and The man who interrupted told him this story:
'On the night of your incident in Africa,
It was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf.
I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you.
In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong,
I called men in this church to meet with me here
In the sanctuary to pray for you.
Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?'The men who had met together to pray that day stood up.
The missionary wasn't concerned with whom they were,
He was too busy counting how many men he saw.
There were 26.
This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in behalf of those who love Him.
If you ever feel such prodding to pray, go along with it, you don't know what it can mean to that person..
Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell.
I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart, We can turn this world toward God once again.
As the above true story clearly illustrates,
'With God all things are possible'.
More importantly, how God hears and
Answers the prayers of the faithful.
Who says God does not move on the earth today?
After you read this, Give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith;
For the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracle he works in your own daily life... And then pass it on.
I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He will see us through. So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, Just remember I'm here praying, and God will do the rest.
Pass this on to those whom you want God to bless .
I Can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Kentucky plane crash ... Thanks Bob Looney!
A plane crashed on a farm in the middle of rural Kentucky.
Panic stricken, the local sheriff mobilized and descended on the farm in force. When they got there, the aircraft was totally destroyed with only a burned hull left smoldering in a tree line that bordered the farm.
The sheriff and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of anyone.
They spotted the farmer plowing a field not too far away as if nothing had happened. They hurried over to the man's tractor.
"Hank," the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath.
"Did you see this terrible accident happen?"
"Yep. Sure did," the farmer mumbled unconcerned, cutting off the tractor's engine.
"Do you realize that is Air Force One the airplane of the President of the United States?"
"Yep."
"Were there any survivors?"
"Nope.
They's all kilt straight out," the farmer answered. "I done buried them all myself. Took me most of the morning."
"President Obama is dead?" the sheriff asked.
"Well," the farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor.
"He kept a-saying he wasn't... But you know how bad he lies......

Thanks Sarah Rapp! The lawyers' party
A LAWYER WITH A BRIEFCASE CAN STEAL
MORE THAN A THOUSAND MEN WITH GUNS.
The Lawyers' Party By
Bruce Walker
The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers
Party.
Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a
lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a
lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards was a
lawyer.
Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school
(although Gore did not graduate).
Every Democrat vice
presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law
school.
Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in
Congress:
Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a
lawyer.
The Republican Party is different.
President
Bush is a businessman.
Vice President Cheney is a
businessman.
The leaders of the Republican
Revolution:
Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
Tom
Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.
House
Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former
Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon.
Who was
the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left
office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a
sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.
The
Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are
often the targets of lawyers.
The Democrat Party is made up of
lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and
Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in
history, like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people,
who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of
America .. And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in
the eyes of the Lawyers Party, grow.
Against whom do Hillary
and Obama rail?....Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals,
manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses,
bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation. This is
the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of
lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their
clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new
laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to
overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their
side.
Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But
it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as
lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as
opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life
becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become adverse parties of our
very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social
class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a
great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from
lawyers.
Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by
judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent
lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place
for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not
vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next
president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of
lawyers and the law in America is too big.
When House Democrats sue America in order to
hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to
us, then the role of litigation in America has become
crushing.
Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot
be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate
American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope
does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams
nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that
more lawyers with more power will only make our problems
worse.
The United States has 5% of the world̢۪s population and
66% of the worlds lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been
introduced in congress several times in the last several years to
limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot
coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and
also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits.
This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on
by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political
contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the
Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical
and product costs being so high!

They have a great community over there at WCN and it’s very well moderated. Alot of posters over here wouldn’t last too long over there with their personal attacks and slander. I find it so very telling when someone immediately calls out another for being “fat”, “short”, “gangly”, “ugly”, “goofy” - whatever. DUH! Wow captain obvious - its amazing that someone can be so damned insecure that they really feel better by attacking one - ONE aspect of another person’s makeup simply because it is so easy to see. If you had to tattoo your IQ, gross income, job status, level of education, number of felonies and / or misdemeanors, number of sins against society and / or God, etc. on your forehead - WOW - we could probably make fun of you as well.
