Memorial Day Weekend - SamKat

Memorial Day weekend is a welcome respite from the long winter and wet April.  God blessed us in Central Ohio with beautiful weather.  Commencements, Grad's parties, and Memorials of loved ones and Veterans have kept most us very busy this weekend. 

I'm sure our God did not mean for humans to spend lives on earth in misery. We could have evolved into better societies were it not for sin.  He soon realized selfishness in  human  freedoms  have resulted in today's world-wide Soddoms and Gommoras (sp?).  There He asked for and found not one faithful to Him  That had left us far from achieving the truly good things on earth.  Think on the good things- clear weather, good health, sufficient food, charity for the less fortunate, higher achievements with selflessness, love, laughter, and consideration of others, ... etc. all of which  result in a clean feeling of goodness.and joy.

His answer was sending His only Son for our sins so that we can enjoy after-life happiness in Heaven.  There, we will recognize friends and families, and all the experiences which He  desired for his human creations.

Please help each one of us to escape our self-centeredness for selflessness and the memory and worship of our Creator.

It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.


He did this because he said in words to this effect:


'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'


This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.


It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated' while many in the world looked the other way!


Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

MEMORIAL DAY                                                     Keep it moving, please, even if you've seen it before. It is the  VETERAN,  not the preacher,  who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN,  not the reporter,   who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN,  not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.    It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.     It is the VETERAN,  not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.   It is the VETERAN,  not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.            It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag,              It is the VETERANwho serves under the Flag,    ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.       I'd be EXTREMELY proud if this email reached as many as possible. We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.     God Bless them all!!!
