Can you blame them for writing this?

Number 10) Only in America...could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 per plate campaign fund-raising event.

Number 9) Only in America ...could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the population is black 40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans - 3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

Number 8) Only in America...could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Number 7) Only in America...can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media and liberals react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

Number 6) Only in America...would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens (probably should be number one).

Number 5) Only in America....could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country's Constitution be thought of as "extremists."

Number 4) Only in America...could you need to present a driver's license to cash a check, board an airplane or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

Number 3) Only in America...could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. Oil company(Marathon Oil) averages 12% profit and they take all the risk and the US government takes by force 18.4% to 24.4% in gas tax for taking zero risk and doing absolutely nothing for that revenue other than creating a law to force the oil companies to give it to them. So the government makes 6% to 12% more profit than the oil companies themselves on gas sales for doing absolutely nothing but using force.

Number 2) Only in America....could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and the left complains that it still doesn't have nearly enough money for all their programs.

And Number 1) Only in America...could the so called "rich people" who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all .

ARLINGTON CEMETERY Jeopardy Question:  On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was "How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns?" All three contestants missed it!  This  is really an awesome sight to watch if you've  never had the chance ... Fascinating.  Tomb  of the Unknown Soldier 1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why? 21 steps:  It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.  2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his return walk and why? 21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1 3. Why are his gloves wet? His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle. 4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time and, if not, why not? He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the path, he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.  5. How often are the guards changed? Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. 6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?  For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30. They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives. They cannot swear in public for the rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform or the tomb in any way. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin. The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt. There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform. Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror. The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone nor watch TV. All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery .... A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe Lewis {the boxer} Medal of Honor winner Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated soldier of WWII and of Hollywood fame. Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for guard duty.. ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM. In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington , DC , our US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm. On the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment. They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!" Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a service person. The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930. God Bless and keep them. I'd be very proud if this email reached as many as possible. The typical U.S. household headed by a person age 65 or older has a net
worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35,
according to an analysis of census data released Monday. If all of us
old farts have all of the money, then let us try to elect someone who
might be near honest and not be after feathering their own nests.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in
some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to
retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little
slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once
were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and
grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over
the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off
completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into
consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us
to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what
outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the
days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk being
delivered .A few even remember when cars,tractors and trucks were
started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there
are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us
off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam . We can quote
The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing
so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many
friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States
of America ; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the
Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know
the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America , and America the
Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our
cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in
history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for
America ..

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one
good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and
died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and
nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend
America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath
we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love
but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the
Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in
reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies."

You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you
don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too
interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be
involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of
those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's
remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense
enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid.' Now
you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost
mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with
the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy
house.

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2014
we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower
than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2014 we're
going to the polls by the millions.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the
People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time
you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our
grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge
of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our
country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired
Brigade."

black-White supposed president inciting racial division in this country along with Jackson, Rangle, and the other black.  There is sufficient division among clear thinking people without their always taking the black side and accusing whites for all wrongs.  We elected a black president but none of those people would have been qualified as Commander and Chief of the USA.  It makes it very difficult for Dr. Ben Carson and Bain and many other fine blacks to be elected as such.

I'm 73 
Except for one
semester in college when jobs were scarce and a
six-month period when I was between jobs, but
job-hunting every day, I've worked,
hard, since I was 18.
Despite some health challenges, I still put in
50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in
seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but
I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I
worked to get where I am. Given the economy,
there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired.
Very tired.
 
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic.

I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary,

and give it to people too lazy to earn it.
 
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of

stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of

Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because

they aren't "believers;" of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape

victims to death for "adultery;" of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of
Allah, because the Qur'an and Sharia law tells them to.
 
I'm tired of being told that, out of "tolerance for other cultures," we must let Saudi Arabia use

our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America and

Canada , while no American nor Canadian group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or

religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance..
 
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one

is allowed to debate. 

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat

them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them,

and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off?
 
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about

innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their

only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
 
I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of

hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.
 
Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 73.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to

see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughters and grandsons.

Signers of the Declaration of Independence ... 4th- Don't forget - Men of means

What Ever Happened?

Many of you have most likely seen this before but I thought it was interesting and Patriotic to the 4th of July.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence ?  

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the  British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.

He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,

And poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of  Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home only to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free!

I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many people as you can. It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.
