For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Fans will have plenty of free time on Friday and Sunday, and during daylight hours on Saturday and Monday. Here are a few of my recommendations for ways to pass the time:
— $3 bowling at Latitude 360
— Visit the zoo and other sights of White River State Park
— Get lost in the World’s Biggest & Best Children’s Museum (but only if you have children; don’t be creepy)
— Go shopping at Edinburgh Premium Outlets
— Pacers vs. Hornets, Friday; Pacers vs. Heat, Sunday
— Pee on the side of the NCAA Headquarters
Or you can check out these Final Four-related events…
— Final Four Fan Fest at the Indiana Convention Center (Friday, noon-8; Saturday, 10-8; Sunday, noon-8; Monday, noon-8)
— Capital One Jam Fest featuring Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Kacey Musgraves and Cole Swindell (Sunday, 2-10)
— Three free days of music at the March Madness Music Festival at White River State Park
— Reese’s College All-Star Game (Friday, 4:30)
— Taking pictures of famous head coaches at bars and strip clubs
If you get hungry…
St. Elmo is my favorite spot in Indy but it is all booked up for the weekend. I’m hoping to land a spot in the 1933 Lounge or its sister restaurant, Harry & Izzy’s, with hopes of getting my hands on that World Famous Shrimp Cocktail. (Warning: It will light you up.)
For fans looking for cheaper fare, there are plenty of options around downtown and the arena. I hear the food trucks are excellent, as are the tamales and nachos at The Tamale Place.
Don’t let me catch you at Old Spaghetti Factory. You’re better than that.
If you’d like to hear the KSR pregame show…
Ryan Lemond and I will broadcast from Tin Roof Indianapolis at 6:00 pm Saturday night, right as the first game tips off. Tin Roof is a short walk from the arena so join us as we rally Big Blue Nation before the Cats take the floor. We hope to add a couple guests to fill Matt’s shoes and we are open to suggestions.
What to do if Kentucky wins it all…

Hill of crosses Lithuania ... Thx Ramey H!

The Hill of Crosses: Lithuania’s Sacred Pilgrim Site |
I was amazed when I learned about this astonishing site in Lithuania called the Hill of Crosses. The more I look and read about it, the more inspired I am by its story as a testimony to the spirit of the Lithuanian people.

Located near the city of Siauliai, the hill first began having crosses placed on it after the 1831 Peasant Uprising against the Russians. An estimated 10,000 to 20,000 people lost their lives in the battle. Those who couldn’t find their loved ones’ bodies put up a cross in memoriam. Ever since then the site has become a pilgrim site for Lithuanian Catholics to commemorate their dead.

This hill is 60 meters long and 40 meters wide (196 feet and 131 feet respectively). Thousands of crosses, statues, carvings, rosaries, pictures of the saints and other mementos are packed across this site. Experts estimate the number of crosses on site to be over 200,000. It is customary for visitors to leave behind a cross or another sacred memento, so the number of crosses is constantly growing.

Beginning in 1940 Lithuania came to be occupied by Soviet Russia and would remain so for another half century. The Soviets outlawed religion and tried to suppress Lithuanian culture and political activity. They deported thousands to Siberia. The country suffered a 33% population loss due to the Holocaust, executions, incarcerations and forced emigration. People traveled to the Hill of Crosses to erect crosses in memory of those taken to Siberia.

In 1959, the Soviets banned the construction of crosses and began an unsuccessful campaign to destroy the hill and its symbolism. There were repeated attempts to bulldoze, flood, burn crosses, and generally demolish the site. They placed KGB guards and barricades to stop locals from putting up more crosses, but Lithuanians were defiant and would still sneak in at night.

The site shows many examples of cross crafting, a Lithuanian art form. All across the country you will see crosses decorating houses, churches, cemeteries and roadsides. They are intricately adorned with geometric patterns, flowers, suns, birds and the tree of life. They are used as memorials to the dead and significant events, to mark former settlements, and offer spiritual protection and safety for travelers.

The hill is visited by people from all over the world and is especially busy during Easter week. In 1993, Pope John Paul II visited and the site was filled with thousands of Lithuanians who came to greet and pray with the Pope. The Pope addressed the crowds: “Thank you, Lithuanians, for this Hill of Crosses which testifies to the nations of Europe and to the whole world the faith of the people of this land”.
