(Tampons to the rescue in Iraq!! Don't worry, it's a good story, and worth reading. It's even humorous in parts. It's from the mother of a Marine in Iraq.)
My son told me how wonderful the care packages we had sent them from the ladies auxiliary were and wanted me to tell everyone thank you. He said that one guy we'll call Marine X, got a female care package and everyone was giving him a hard time. My son said, 'Marine X got some really nice smelling lotion and everyone really likes it, so every time he goes to sleep they steal it from him.'

I told my son I was really sorry about the mistake, and if he wanted I would send Marine X another package. He told me not to worry about Marine X, because every time I send something to him, he shares it with Marine X.

He said when my husband and I sent the last care package, Marine X came over to his cot picked up the box, started fishing through it, and said, 'What'd we get this time?' 

But my son said they had the most fun with Marine X's package.

He said he wasn't sure who it was supposed to go to, but the panties were size 20, and he said one of the guys got on top of the Humvee and jumped off with the panties over his head and yelled, 'Look at me, I'm an Airborne Ranger!'
One of the guys connected the panties to an antenna and it blew in the wind like a windsock. He said it entertained them for quite awhile. Then of course . . . they had those tampons.

When he brought this up, my imagination just went running, but he continued.

My son said they had to go on a mission and Marine X wanted the Chap-Stick and lotion for the trip. He grabbed a bunch of the items from his care package and got in the Humvee. As luck would have it, he grabbed the tampons too, and my son said everyone was teasing him about 'not forgetting his feminine hygiene products.'

He said things went well for a while, then the convoy was ambushed and a Marine was shot. He said the wound was pretty clean, but it was deep. He said they were administering first aid but couldn't get the bleeding to slow down, and someone said, 'Hey! Use Marine X's tampons!' My son said they put the tampon in the wound. At this point my son profoundly told me, 'Mom, did you know that tampons expand?’ ('Well . . . yeah!')

They successfully slowed the bleeding until the guy got better medical attention. When they went to check on him later, the surgeon told them, 'You guys saved his life. If you hadn't stopped that bleeding he would have bled to death.'

My Son said, 'Mom, the tampons sent by the Marine Moms by mistake saved a Marine's life
At this point I asked him, 'Well, what did you do with the rest of the tampons?'

He said, 'Oh, we divided them up and we all have them in our flak jackets, and I kept two for our first aid kit.'
I am absolutely amazed by the ingenuity of our Marines. I can't believe that something that started out as a mistake then turned into a joke, ended up saving someone's life.

My sister said she doesn't believe in mistakes. She believes God had a plan all along. She believes that 'female care package' was sent to Marine X to save our Marine. Either way, our efforts have boosted the morale of many Marines, provided much needed items for our troops, AND saved the life of a Marine!

God bless every one of you for your efforts and hard work, and God bless our Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force and all our military service personnel.

Exclusive Newsmax Poll: Trumps Surges, Walker Slips in South An exclusive Newsmax poll released Tuesday shows businessman Donald Trump sweeping to a commanding lead among Republican presidential candidates across the South, with retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson surging in popularity. Sponsor Trump, who has led in the polls since his campaign began on June 16, finished with 28 points in the exclusive Newsmax-Southern Political Report Survey conducted by OpinionSavvy. This is a brief biography that articulates the man, his life and his goals perfectly!   The Architect of Destruction By  Maureen Scott   Barack Obama appears to be a tormented man filled with resentment, anger, and disdain for anyone of an opinion or view other than his. He acts in the most hateful, spiteful, malevolent, vindictive ways in order to manipulate and maintain power and control over others. Perhaps, because, as a child, he grew up harboring an abiding bitterness toward the U.S. That was instilled in him by his family and mentors…it seems to have never left him.   It is not the color of his skin that is a problem in America. Rather it is the blackness that fills his soul and the hollowness in his heart where there should be abiding pride and love for this country.   Think: Have we ever heard Obama speak lovingly of the U.S.  Or its people, with deep appreciation and genuine respect for our history, our customs, our sufferings and our blessings? He did not sit at the knee of a Grandfather or Uncle who showed us his medals and told us about the bravery of his fellow troops as they tramped through foreign lands to keep us free. He didn't have grandparents who told stories of suffering and then coming to America, penniless, and the opportunities they had for building a business and life for their children.                                   Away from this country as a young child, Obama didn't delight in being part of America and its greatness. He wasn't singing our patriotic songs in kindergarten, or standing on the roadside for a holiday parade and eating a hot dog, or lighting sparklers around a campfire on July 4th as fireworks exploded over head, or placing flags on the grave sites of fallen and beloved American heroes. Rather he was separated from all of these experiences and doesn't really understand us and what it means to be an American. He is void of the basic emotions that most feel regarding this country and insensitive to the instinctive pride we have in our national heritage. His opinions were formed by those who either envied us or wanted him to devalue the United States and the traditions and patriotism that unites us.   He has never given a speech that is filled with calm, reassuring, complimentary, heartfelt statements about all the people in the U.S. Or one that inspires us to be better and grateful and proud  that in a short time our country became a leader, and a protector of many. Quite the contrary, his speeches always degenerate into mocking, ridiculing tirades as he faults our achievements as well as any critics or opposition for the sake of a laugh, or to bolster his ego. He uses his Office to threaten and create fear while demeaning and degrading any American who opposes his policies and actions. A secure leader, who has noble self-esteem and not false confidence, refrains from showing such dread of critics and displaying a cocky, haughty attitude. Mostly, his time seems to be spent causing dissension, unrest, and anxiety among the people of America, rather than uniting us (even though he was presented to us as the "Great Uniter"). He creates chaos for the sake of keeping people separated, envious, aggrieved and ready to argue. Under his leadership Americans have been kept on edge, rather than in a state of comfort and security. He incites people to be aggressive toward, and disrespectful of, those of differing opinions. And through such behavior, Obama has lowered the standards for self-control and mature restraint to the level of street-fighting gangs, when he should be raising the bar for people to strive toward becoming more considerate, tolerant, self-disciplined, self-sustaining, and self-assured.   Not a day goes by that he is not attempting to defy our laws, remove our rights, over-ride established procedures, install controversial appointees, enact divisive mandates, and assert a dictatorial form of government. - Never has there been a leader of this great land who used such tactics to harm and hurt the people and this country. - Never have we had a President who spoke with a caustic, evil tongue against the citizenry rather than present himself as a soothing, calming and trustworthy force. - Never, in this country, have we experienced how much stress one man can cause a nation of people - on a daily basis!   Obama has promoted the degeneration of peace, civility, and quality of cooperation between us. SamKat is back! I am happy and I hope a lot of you are - SamKat Rant

Hey friends of my blog.

I haven't posted since a spammer from a post I made July 24 got into my blog and blocked me or anybody from posting.  My advice is to avoid "Mashable" from any messages forwarded to you.  Don't send them on to pollute somebody else's computer.

My son, Jeff, tried to help me today and just found a different entry point:  www.blogger.com  which takes me into the SamKat blog at skegley.blogspot.com.  I can enter again through that link and I am back.

I remind all good conservatives to make it a point to watch Fox News Thursday Aug 13 at 5 pm and 9 pm for the debates with too many good people of the Republican Presidential hopefuls debating.  Any one of them are infinitely better than our muslim representative pusa now and that compulsive liar Clinton lady.

An o supporting friend recently commented to a group I was in that obama stuck to his promises better than anny other president in his memory.

Yes HOPE, but not really for blacks in America.  And real CHANGE for all the muslims in the Middle East, especially Iran, Saudi Arabia.  He who has repeatedly said:  "I am a Muslim", The sweetest sound to me is "the Muslim evening call to prayer" and "America will never be at war with Muslims".  pusa o also says that" If there is a war, he will be on the side of the Muslims".  Biut he cannot bring himself to say "Islamic Terrorists"  That my conservative Christian friends is our musk;inn pusa.  There is more racial divide in our country now after six and a half years of his presidency that there has been before 2008.
