For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Doctors ... Thx Jackie B!

Subj: Doctors

An Israeli doctor says: "in Israel, medicine is so advanced that we cut off a man’s testicles, put them on another man and in 6 weeks, he is looking for work."

“The German doctor says: "that’s nothing, in Germany we take part of a brain, put it in another man, and in 4 weeks he is looking for work."

“The Russian doctor says: “gentlemen, we take half a heart from a man, put it in another's chest and in 2 weeks he is looking for work."

“The United States doctor laughs: "You all are behind us. Five years ago, we took a man with no brains, no heart and no balls and made him President. Now, the whole country is looking for work!

Mary had a little Lamb ... Thx Jackie B!

The Cat has it Right

Now this is a teacher ... thx for the excellent re-cycle Marge R!

Now this is a Teacher!   cid:180585E4B81842658EF21DD40BEF7813@RodgerPC NOW  SHE IS A TEACHER!!!    In September  of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a History teacher  at Robinson High School in  Little Rock , did something not to be  forgotten.  On the first day of school, with the permission of the  school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she  removed all of the desks in her classroom. When the first period kids  entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.   'Ms. Cothren, where are our desks?' She  replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn the right  to sit at a desk.'    They  thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.'  'No,' she  said.    'Maybe  it's our behavior.' She told them, 'No, it's not even your  behavior.'    And so,  they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still  no desks in the classroom. Kids called their parents to tell them what  was happening and by early afternoon television news crews had started  gathering at the school to report about this crazy teacher who had taken  all the desks out of her room.    The  final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on  the floor of the desk-less classroom. Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout  the day no one has been able to tell me just what he or she has done to  earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this  classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'    At this  point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened  it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniform, walked into that  classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the  school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside  the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place  those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their  lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been  earned.    Martha  said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did  it for you. They placed the desks here for you. They went halfway around  the world, giving up their education and interrupting their careers and  families so you could have the freedom you have. Now, it's up to you to  sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to  be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'    By the  way, this is a true story. And this teacher was awarded the Veterans of  Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year for the State of  Arkansas in 2006. She is the daughter of a  WWII POW.     Do you think this email is worth  passing along so others won't forget either, that the freedoms we have  in this great country were earned by  our  U.S.   Veterans?   ................... I did. Let us  always remember the men and women of our military and the rights they  have won for us.cid:E402DA61166C4C7D979C17B5EA3B9B4D@RodgerPC cid:F969839B7BAE4BD0AB14678FA3F75F01@RodgerPC

Japan today ... Thx Paul C! I spent 17 mos. in Japan ... Good for them!

Good for Japan!

Subject: Japan- some very interesting facts

There may be some lessons to be learned here...particularly the last prrt
  :These practices set a high standard for young people . . . . . http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enjoythemasti/join/

* Japanese children clean their schools every day for a quarter of an hour with teachers. This led to the emergence of a Japanese generation who is modest and keen on cleanliness.   * Any  Japanese citizen who has a dog (rare) must carry special bags to pick up dog droppings. Hygiene and their eagerness to address cleanliness is part of Japanese ethics.   * A hygiene worker in Japan is called "health engineer" and can command salary of USD 5000 to 8000 per month, and a  cleaner is subjected to written and oral tests!!   * Japan does not have any natural resources, and they are exposed to hundreds of earthquakes a year, but this has not prevented its becoming the second largest economy in the  world.   * In just ten years Hiroshima returned to what it was economically vibrant before the fall of the atomic bomb.   * Japan prevents the use of mobile phones in trains, restaurants and indoors.   * For first to sixth primary year Japanese students must learn ethics in dealing with people.   * Even though one of the richest people in the world, the Japanese do not have servants. The parents are responsible for the house and children.   * There is no examination from the first to the third primary level because the goal of education is to instill concepts and character building.   * If  you go to a buffet restaurant in Japan you will notice people only eat  as much as they need without any waste because food must not be wasted.   * The rate of delayed trains in Japan is about 7 seconds per year!! The Japanese appreciate the value of time and are very punctual to minutes and seconds.   * Children in schools brush their teeth (sterile) and clean their teeth after a meal at school, teaching them to maintain their health from an early age.   * Japanese students take half an hour to finish their meals to ensure proper digestion because these students are the future of Japan.   The Japanese focus on maintaining their own culture.  Therefore . . . ..   * No political leader or a prime minister from an Islamic nation has visited Japan - not the Ayatollah of Iran, the King of Saudi Arabia or even a Saudi Prince!!   * Japan is a country keeping Islam at bay by putting strict restrictions on Islam and ALL Muslims.

1) Japan is the only nation that does not give citizenship to Muslims.
2) In Japan permanent residency is not given  to Muslims.
3) There is a strong ban on the propagation of Islam in Japan.
4) In the University of Japan, Arabic or any Islamic language is not taught. (Editorial note: English is required at every school and every level. To "graduate", a competency test must be passed. This is for disciplinary and business reasons.)
5) One cannot import a 'Koran' published in the Arabic language.
6) According to data published by the Japanese  government, it has given temporary residency to only 2  lakhs, Muslims, who must follow the
Japanese Law of the Land. These  Muslims should speak Japanese and carry their religious rituals in their homes.
7) Japan is the only country in the world that has a negligible number of embassies in Islamic countries.
8) Muslims residing in Japan are the employees of foreign companies.
9) Even today, visas are not granted to Muslim doctors, engineers or managers sent by foreign companies.
10) In the majority of companies it is stated in their regulations that no Muslims should apply for a job.
11) The Japanese government is of the opinion that Muslims are fundamentalist, and even in the era of globalization they  are not willing to change
      their Muslim laws.
12) Muslims cannot even rent a house in Japan.
13) If anyone comes to know that his neighbor is a Muslim then the whole neighborhood stays alert.
14) No one can start an Islamic cell or Arabic 'Madrasa' in Japan.
15) There is no Sharia law in Japan.
16) If a Japanese woman marries a Muslim, she is considered an outcast  forever.
17) According to Mr. Kumiko Yagi, Professor of Arab/Islamic Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign  Studies,
" There is a mind frame in Japan that Islam is a very narrow minded religion and one should stay away from it."

The Japanese might have lost the war, but they are in charge of their own country.
There are no bombs going off in crowded business centers, "Honor Killings", nor killing of innocent children or anyone else.
Something to think about......

Harry Truman - A president's president! ... Thx good friend, Clay V.!

Would that this guy were cloned, Clay.  He is my brother, George's absolute favorite!  In fact if he were running any time I would vote for him.  He was not in the vein of the normal progressive liberal Democrat or Republican today!  A lot of Tea Party people resemble the man, a True man!

We will never see this again.

Thought you'd enjoy this!
It's one you want your Children and Grandchildren to read.
They won't believe this happened, but it DID.
Harry & Bess
(This seems unreal.)
Harry Truman was a different kind of President. He probably made as many, or more important decisions regarding our nation's history as any of the other 42 Presidents preceding him. However, a measure of his greatness may rest on what he did after he left the White House.

The only asset he had when he died was the house he lived in, which was in Independence Missouri. His wife had inherited the house from her mother and father and other than their years in the White House, they lived their entire lives there.

When he retired from office in 1952 his income was a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year. Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an 'allowance' and, later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year.

After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess drove home to Missouri by themselves. There was no Secret Service following them.

When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, "You don't want me. You want the office of the President, and that doesn't belong to me. It belongs to the American people and it's not for sale."

Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, "I don't consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise."

As president he paid for all of his own travel expenses and food.

Modern politicians have found a new level of success in cashing in on the Presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale (cf. Illinois).

Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, "My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference!

I say dig him up and clone him!

Enjoy life now -- it has an expiration date!

Where do cashews come from? ... Thx Nita E!

Subject: Where Do Cashews Come From?

And where they are grown a drink is made from the fruit. It can't be shipped
Sent from my NOOK

Thx for adding, Sarah R!

 Agriculture 101....

Interesting - I just assumed they were like other nuts (the edible kind, naturally), but now I have the full story behind these unusual fruits. Another day of learning something - happy??

Ever wonder where cashews come from?
You might think they grow inside a shell like any other nut, but there true origins are far more bizarre.
First of all, cashews are not actually nuts, but rather fruits from the cashew tree, a large evergreen tree that thrives in tropical climates. The tree produces red flowers, which in turn produces yellow and red oval structures resembling apples.
These so-called cashew apples are very juicy and pulpy, and their juice is often added to tropical fruit drinks.

Where the Heck Do Cashews Come From?

However, cashew apples are not actually fruits in a scientific sense; the real fruit of the cashew tree is the kidney-shaped formation growing at the end.

These fruits, also called drupes, are harvested and become what we know as a cashew nut.
In their raw form the outter layer of the fruit contains multiple toxins, including anacardic acid, a powerful skin irritant similar to the toxin found in poison ivy, that must be removed prior to eating.

Roasting the cashews destroys the toxins, but roasting must be preformed carefully outdoors because the smoke can irritate the lungs, sometimes to a life-threatening degree.

When they are roasted cashews change from their natural greenish-gray color to the light brown nut sold in stores.
Next time you crack open a tin of cashews, take a moment to appreciate the long journey those little c-shaped nuts took from the tree to your table!  It also explains why they are so expensive!

Now that I think about it, I never wondered why you can't buy cashews in the shell, like other "nuts"!
