For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Loyalty Jack H Plymale with Sam's reply

That is true, Jack. I admire your loyalty to Doc right through the end of his time on earth.

You Mabert Roaders and Vinton Avenue friends were tight along with your buddy, Jim Fout.

It was an extreme pleasure for me to interview you three and all of the outstanding athletes in the Portsmouth area that I did for the 2008 blog and the earlier excellence book of mine.

I wonder if Paul Walker's son ever proceeded to write an Excellence book on the Middletown area. He called and talked with me about it a couple of years ago, if you remember. Middletown and each of the Greater Ohio League schools had rich histories in athletics. Gosh, it seemed like the NFL or NBA when those GOL teams got together on Friday nights.

We went with my son and granddaughter to New Philadelphia Ohio yesterday for her softball, and he asked me if Gib Lakeman was really a legend in Portsmouth athletics. Jay played basketball with Gib's son,Richard, who has been so good in helping me. I told Jay he certainly was along with you three guys, Don Monk, Dave Thomas, Calvin and LLoyd Flamer, Larry Hisle, Al Olliver and so many others far too numerous to mention. It was an extension of the old Portsmouth Steel Shoes or the Portsmouth Spartans. I had not played sports until the sixth grade at Highland school when I must have been 11 and our blue collar family knew nothing of the sports history. It was about then (1943 and the midst of WW II) that I made my way up McConnell to the park anbd became a full fledged Mound Park Urchin.

Sam, the term Blue-blood may have originated in Lexington. There are damned few things I find more praise worthy than loyalty or more rewarding for that matter. Jack P.

Perhaps so, friend, but that has been Kentucky basketball forever and I, personally, love it.

I will admit that I lose all interest in the young potential Kentucky players if they don't become Kentucky Wildcats.

When in- I really love it! If they are going someplace else, I try to ignore them. Yes- I may be slightly prejudiced, but wait, UK fans are never slightly prejudiced. We are merely royal blue with UK!

Sam things have gotten way out of balance when a high school boy announcing where is going to college becomes a media event.
