Subject: STANLEY WORKMAN----STAN'S SON
Stanley Workman - (Artistic Director) Stanley Workman received his bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Kent State University and a Master of Music from Memphis State University. He received additional training at Indiana University where he was a student of the late Margaret Harshaw. He has appeared in leading and supporting roles with Kent Opera Theatre, Cleveland opera Theatre, Memphis and Indiana University Opera Theatre. Other musical training includes studies at Blossom Festival School of Music, the Boris Goldovsky Opera Institute, and vocal coaching with John Wustman, Martin Katz, Vance George, Paul Nadler, Mark Flint, Courtney Kenny, Robert Page, Gerard Souzay, Beverly Wolff, and Virginia Zeani. Workman has recently completed a second Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Kent State University. He entered the doctoral program at Ohio State University last Fall, as well as serving as a teaching assistant.
Thanks Bob,
Stan Workman Sr.'s funeral was a testament to a fine life there in the 'Cultural Center of Our Universe". I am impressed that Stan had carried on the legacy of Dick Klitch's dad, Herman, in caring for his family and in coaching kids of Portsmouth Town.
It is ironic that Stan, Jr. is not an athlete, but that his dad was justly proud of the son's musical accomplishments, and they are many as you show in your message. You have remained a steady friend to all of us Mound Park Urchins, Bob, and Stan's family should be encouraged that his was a good life and it is evident that they believe that.
How fitting that Andy Lyles, Bob and Sarah's son, was there and he looks so much like his father, now deceased, but part of the Lyles-Looney duo. Stan Sr. evidently left integrous impressions upon Andy.
So many good Portsmouth people attended Stan's funeral. It was good seeing each of them although funerals have become a major social function in our aging status.
Stan, Jr. and his sister stood bravely together and told of their dad's great humanity. They did it well. That is tough duty, to be attempted only by tough people. Dave Miller, as Stan's good friend, and Dick Klitch, as Stan's early mentor and friend, were also there and stood and testified.
Stan Workman, Sr. has left this life but Jesus knows how the man acted throughout and we all should appreciate that He knows what we humans endure and enjoy while we are here on earth. I feel good about God's forgiveness of any of Stan's sins through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His forgiveness is always there for each one of us.
Your fellow Mound Park Urchin,
Sam

For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.
